Timpanogos Cave National Monument is a few miles down American Fork Canyon, with a rewarding but steep 1.5-mile hike to a guided tour of the spectacular three-room cave system. Cascade Springs is just 9 miles from the campground. Family-friendly, accessible boardwalks loop around the natural springs. Nearby Tibble Fork and Silver Flat Reservoirs offer canoeing, kayaking and fishing for rainbow, brook and brown trout. A portion of the north shore at Tibble Fork is accessible. Both reservoirs are open only to non-motorized watercraft. Scuba divers frequent Tibble Fork's south shore. Hiking and mountain biking trails abound at Tibble Fork, some beginning at the reservoir and others nearby. The 6-mile Tibble Fork, 2-mile Pine Hollow, 3-mile Mill Canyon and the 15-mile Ridge Trails are all in the vicinity.

Known as Utah’s largest freshwater lake at roughly 148 sq. miles, Utah Lake camping provides a variety of recreation activities. Utah Lake State Park offers fishing access for channel catfish, walleye, white bass, black bass, and several species of panfish. With an average water temperature of 75 degrees, Utah Lake provides an excellent outlet for swimming, boating, and paddleboarding. Spot 19 is in the middle and seems to have a good view regardless of who is parked in adjacent spots, and spot 32 also seems to have a good view and the advantage of being on the outer edge so no backdoor neighbors. Park has a general store but we did not go inside. Bathrooms/showers are decent with sufficient hot water, but are not as nice as those at Wasatch Mtn.
Food aside: Had freeze-dried coconut curry chicken with extra packet of ready-to-eat Wal Mart chicken added and it was good. Also had chicken teriyaki with chicken packet added. Spiced both up with garlic powder.

Stayed in 33B first night and 23C second night. C loop seems a little more sparse and spaced out. Outer loop seems better. Bathrooms very clean and well stocked. Sites mostly level. Pine and aspen, some spots more shaded than others. Easy walk to lake and there is a nice paved trail around it. Spotty cell service at road, none in campground.
Food aside: Freeze-dried Pad thai with chicken, supplemented chicken (packet from Wal Mart) and it was very good with a bit of heat. Also added garlic powder (always).
The camp ground itself is not bad. You have all the amenities that you could wish for when you are on the road. Including sites with full hook up and showers plus toilets that are in good condition. The camp store has food and drinks available. Very positive were the ladies at the reception. Very helpful and very sweet.
But the location is rather disappointing. Its located at the end of an old street and right in front of a dam, enclosed by some hills. You can hear the nearby highway. Not very pretty.
It feels a little cramped, the individual spots are very close to each other, so there is not much privacy. Plus, it is very expensive. I paid 78$ for a full hook up spot.
Probably better to check out the camp site Hailstone Camp Ground right up the hill, in the Jordanelle state park. It looked so much more beautiful when I passed by there the next morning.
We had one night connected to power and one without and enjoyed both nights. It’s a lovely forested area and the fall colors are just turning. Very friendly gate staff. Highly recommend
Very popular campground. Sites nestled in the trees. Occasional road noise. It is shows as first come first served but somehow people can make reservations ahead of time. We looked for a sign which said OPEN and camped there. Hosts are great.
This campground has many spots! They were all clean and convenient. If you stay on the northern side of the campground, expect to hear cars and trucks through the night. I stayed in spot 31 which was spacious and right next to a little stream. The lake is close by and accessible by a trail in between two campsites. I heard a pack of wolves howling right around sunset but seemed a decent distance away. Definitely chilly at night time, but that’s expected this time of year. Highly recommended :)
Stopped on a Sunday evening during a westbound cross country journey. Our 20’ van had no issues circling the road to find an open First-come-first-served spot, but would advise not much longer of a rig. We had to figure out the rules for finding and paying for an open spot, but it was all fine. This is a popular campground with many sites reserved far in advance, so last-minute FCFS openings on weekends may be rare.
Arrived on a Friday afternoon and snagged a spot with a great view but no shade, which was fine with me. The site was nice and flat with a fire circle. The road in was a bit rough because Google maps send me the back way and not on 150. I could see neighbors but not hear them. Minus one star for the tough access after rain and for the reservoir being dry on the end of this particular spot.
My family of five enjoyed this campground. We got a site with access to the river which my kids really enjoyed. There was a fun giant "sliding rock" in the area to climb on. Lots of trees for hammocks. Downside is it's right next to a busy highway and picnic areas. Although the campsite has quiet hours, the picnic area across the street stayed loud well past quiet hours. The road noise was a lot more than I expected.. especially at night. Definitely bring ear plugs or plan to stay only a nite or two. We planned on staying three nights, but were so exhausted by lack of sleep we left a day early.
Wish they had negative stars. Terrible camp hosts. Hosts are not what they are. Maybe they had a bad day, maybe they don’t know what they are doing. Whatever was the reasoning for their bad behavior is not acceptable. I’d steer clear of this one. You will not have a good experience. They will badger and control your every move. Belittle and berate. Not shoot straight and take advantage of you. Go somewhere else.
We went during the summer and had a great time. The views were perfect and the lake is active with choice of water fun rentals. The site is standard with a small lawn area and a pavilion. Bathrooms are onsite as well as showers. Pet friendly but need to be on a leash at all times. Great for RV’s as power and water is present on each site.
Great boondocking spots if you’re willing to get off the beaten path and get a little dirt.
This campground met our expectations. Although some of the sites were pretty close to each other, it wasn't terrible. The sites were clean and well maintained. Lots of cottonwood tree litter but that's not the camp hosts fault. Vault toilets were clean and stocked. Wish there was some sanitizer at the bathrooms but other than that, well maintained. The water was not working at the camp the weekend we were there but we received an email from Recreation.gov the day we were supposed to arrive notifying us that it was off due to an issue so we were able to bring in water before hand. Verizon/Xfinity mobile had no service but ATT does. Overall an enjoyable trip.
This site was very big & the creek surrounded on two sides. It even had 2 picnic tables. When we were here, this part of the campground was empty across from us & site beside us was empty which we loved! We got to listen to the birds. The campground kids enjoying the playground & pool were on the other side of the creek beyond a thick stand of trees.
We stayed here for one night didn't go past the gate we just camped pretty much on the side of the dirt road next to the reservoir. It was really nice and quiet wildlife everywhere billions of stars to look at that night.
Gorgeous view across the lake. Quiet. Electricity worked well. Extremely clean. Camp hosts were nowhere to be found and another rig had claimed the end lake-adjacent site I paid for. They dumped their chairs and cruised to town, missing the sunset! Oh well. Still a peaceful evening. Didn’t try the showers, but they looked nice (located at start of loop near entrance).
We stayed for 7 nights (the limit) in August of 2023. It's all paved, asphalt road and concrete pad for picnic table. Very beautiful setting with the large lake and mountains surrounding. Fishing-yes! Hand powered boating, hiking trails and lots of other lakes to explore.
There no water available but you can fill your RV, Trailer or whatever at the entrance to the Lost Creek CG which is about 3 miles east on Hwy 150. No Dump station, nearest being in Kamas.
Seems to be a popular place for local (SLC) families to gather. Family friendly so lots of kids. Quiet time 10PM to 6AM.

I picked this campground based on its proximity to the Crystal Lake trailhead, hoping that it would be quieter than Washington Lake since it didn't have RV hookups, and it did not disappoint! There were only a few other occupied sites at the time that I went (midweek, before Labor Day), many of the sites were along the creek in a beautiful alpine meadow. The pit toilet was clean, and since I had a water filter, I could pull straight from the creek at my campsite rather than going to the spigot at the entrance.
There is a dirt parking lot for lake access just across from the campground entrance, and the campground is a short <2 mile drive to the Crystal Lake trailhead where there are many options for day hikes. I would 100% stay here again!
The campsite was ok. I get the bathrooms were in the woods, but at least make them look ‘clean’ imo. The camp host was also not great. He came around at dark to tell us we couldn’t put our tent there, even tho it was already set up with beds and everything. Had to take it all down to move. The water wasn’t on at our campsite, so we had to walk down the road to get water.

I just returned from a 3 night stay at Whitney Reservoir and I think this may be my new favorite spot. Peaceful, beautiful…honestly words don’t describe. You access via FR032 off Mirror Lake Highway and go 7-8 miles. The road does get bumpy at times due to rocks and washboard. I was towing a Rpod with a Tacoma and it did fine. I just had to take it slow.
I drove out here to camp. The road there was amazingly beautiful, and very steep with lots of switch backs. The campground is wonderful spot. The camp host was very kind. Although, I could not stay here. There are no dogs allowed anywhere on Wasatch Mountain because it is a protected watershed. And there was a sign posted-no dogs. It would be good to update this on the Dyrt page. Saw a deer on my way out. Wish I could have stayed.
Camp spots are snug but do the job. Love the shade and scenic views. Road noise is kinda drowned out by the river, but you can still hear it if you try. Wish there were showers. Great little secluded access points into the river. Awesome way to cool off. Would stay again!
Lots of cyclists in the area. There was a little accident while I was in the park side someone was hurt. Drive cautiously.
We wound up at site 032. It’s small - too small for me to set up our suv tent so we spent a very squished night in the car. Neighbors we VERY close. Definitely road noise during the day. Other then that it was beautiful. Right by a stream, good hammock trees.
