Full hookup RV sites within the Salt Lake Valley are what West Valley City's RV parks deliver, with 30-amp and 50-amp electrical connections at most private parks in this corridor. This is a metro camping option, not a wilderness one. Sites are compact, often back-in style, set in dense suburban development. Campgrounds close to Salt Lake City cover a wider geographic spread including closer-in Wasatch options if you're flexible on drive time.

Reservations are recommended from June through August. Some parks accept monthly stays and have a mix of short-term campers and long-term residents. Laundry, showers, and dump stations are standard at most private parks here. West Valley City puts you on I-215 for fast access to downtown SLC or south toward Provo.

Bridger Bay Campground — Antelope Island State Park

I know some people had a huge issue with bugs. Maybe its because we came towards the end of October. But the only issue with bugs we had were a few annoying flies. This place is absolutely stunning. Ended up staying 2 nights. One night was very windy since there isnt much to protect you from the wind. Bathrooms have showers and flush toilets. Literally no one was here after the Bison roundup weekend. And the sunsets were spectacular !

      North Fork County Park

A nice campground. About to close for the season so I was the only one here. Its currently dry. The water was shut off and whatnot. Lots of spots. Some better than others! I bet this place would be stunning when the leaves are green and lush!

      Utah Lake State Park Campground

      Beautiful little campground

Nice little campground with several pull through spots and several back ins Showers and bathrooms were clean and nice. Outside of the major town on Utah Lake so fairly quiet, although it is next to a smaller airport which has planes coming and going most of the time. At least they are all small planes so they don’t make too much noise. Nice playground.

      Cascade Springs Dispersed Site

Amazing views! start of the fall colors

Right up the road from where the campsite marker is we found this private little circular site with fire pit. Ground was at a slope, good to keep in mind, for this specific spot.

      Stunning view

This road will test your skills it you don’t have 4x4 and high-clearance, but it still drivable even further uphill. Wasn’t able to make it to where the pin is, just kept going up the main road and found gorgeous spot! Quite popular place

      Granite Flat (utah)

      It’s not closed !

I don’t know why the alert states it’s closed till 2027 but that’s not true. All paved, easy access. Pit toilets and drinking fountains. Sites are too small for huge motorhomes- we fit our 33 foot trailer but had to park the truck down by the toilets, and backing in was fine in our spot but they’re not all as wide of an angle. Site was level, toilets clean. Fountains everywhere but for filling jugs only. A million little trails everywhere. The reservoir is right next to camp and the people there are very annoying, loud, and leave trash. The trails were much more peaceful.

      Cascade Springs Dispersed Site

      Just get here already!

One of the most beautiful sites I've been to in utah. The drive up in autumn is absolutely stunning. Pit toilets are located about 4mi down the mountain, road up will require AWD or 4x4.

    Guide to West Valley City

RV parks near West Valley City provide diverse overnight accommodations for motorhomes and travel trailers. Pony Express RV Resort features concrete pull-through sites with full hookups including 50-amp service and sewer connections. Salt Lake City KOA maintains level paved pads with grassy areas separating neighboring sites, though spaces tend to be narrow with minimal privacy between rigs. Mountain Shadows RV Park in Draper and Valley View RV Resort in Layton both accommodate big rigs with 50-amp electrical service and water hookups. "The facility is spotless! Seriously, the staff keep the entire grounds in great condition. Every spot has water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and enough grass space to setup pet pens."

Several parks remain open year-round despite Utah's seasonal weather variations, with Pony Express and Mountain Shadows specifically noting all-season availability. Security features vary between properties, with some offering gated access for additional safety. Most facilities provide sanitary dump stations, though availability of propane fill service is limited throughout the area.
