Eagle Mountain works mainly as a staging point for RV campers moving between Salt Lake City and points south or west. There are limited RV-specific campgrounds directly in town, and the options that exist are smaller, private facilities without resort-level hookup infrastructure. Full hookups are available at a handful of locations, but site sizes and amenity depth vary considerably. Check specific campground listings on The Dyrt for current hookup availability and length restrictions before booking.

Free camping outside Eagle Mountain lists the dispersed BLM and forest options for rigs that don't need hookups and can handle rougher road access.

      Mountain Shadows RV Park

      Perfect overnight stay for us

We are a 40 foot with a tow. We only stayed here over night as we were passing through. Place was clean, friendly staff, spacious sites, ours had nice grass, dog friendly. Big beautiful dog run area with a waterfall. This would be a great long term or a it’s a very easy on off expressway stop. High recommend

      Ken's Lake Campground

Great BLM campground, near water, convenient base camp!

Kens Lake is a hidden gem of the Moab Valley. It's a great spot to camp and is close to town and great biking, hiking, park-touring. Kens lake is actually a reservoir...it has a gravel bottom and the shores / beaches are gravel as well. It's a nice spot to cool off during the heat of the day. Not a lot of shade, no lawns, but it does have a great hiking trail that meanders around the hillside and across a stream. Kens lake is big-rig friendly. My parents parked their toy hauler 5th wheel at a spot in the Kens Lake campground and it was a bargain compared to the RV resorts, with much more character too!

      Canyon View RV Park

Just a parking lot, but in a beautiful park/awesome walk/bike trail!

First come, first serve, dump station on site(back of parking lot), friendly camphost; great access to an awesome bike/walk trail, close to town& Walmart

SITE: Water and Electricity only and all amenities worked great. All sites are back in and spaced in a large parking lot. Picnic table per site in the shade under the trees by your site; level site; all concrete; the sites are close together, but it wasn't full so the RVers thoughtfully spaced out from each other; full sun

CELL SERVICE: AT&T worked great- not all bars but it worked well for use working remote and no issues with video calls using our hotspot.

OTHER: Located on the edge of Canyon View Park. The park had just closed as they prep for their annual Christmas light show, but you could still walk on the trail through the park to access the main bike/walk trail which was awesome and goes on for many miles! We loved using this everyday we were there. Bathroom in the park was really clean. Dump station is in the parking lot(super convenient) on the back side. It was super gusty, windy at night and consistent every night from about 11pm- 10am. Maybe it's just seasonal? Make sure your awning is in!

Really nice RV resort near Interstate. Pull throughs or back in on paved level sites. Picnic table. FHU. Sites typically close with grass area seperating. No shade or privacy. Narrow interior roads. Nice bathhouses with private shower/toilets. Wifi and cable. Great play area. Bikes available including kid sized. Paved 80 mile bike trail along Jordan River. Giant chessboard. Nice pool area. Amazing clubhouse with pool table, foosball, large TV, comfy chairs, guest kitchen area. Complimentary coffee, tea and fresh made cookies. Friendly, helpful employees!

Chokecherry Campground — Deer Creek State Park

      Decent state park

Camped here last minute while driving through. Well-run, easy check in, reasonably priced.

There are both primitive tent and RV sites with hookups. Small to large sites, back-in and a few pull through. Lots of trees and lilac bushes offer some privacy.

Fire rings, plus BBQ grills, picnic tables at each site. Centrally located bathrooms were clean. Water, trash and dump station by entrance.

The campground is on an incline so there are decent views of the reservoir from just about anywhere and the mountain backdrop to the east. Small but clean beach. There was also ziplining and kayak rentals at the state park but both were closed due to COVID.

      Would camp here again.

      Lodgepole Campground

Lodgepole Campground - Group Site B

Nice basic campground just coming out of Heber City, UT on your way to Strawberry Reservoir. This is a fairly large campground with numerous sites. The group site parking was shallow. We could barely fit our 19 ft travel trailer and our truck. Outside of the group site it appears there are deeper sites that could accommodate a long fifth wheel. Parking space is wide enough to park another car next to trailer. There are a few tent sites as around the group site pavilion.

No hookups for RV’s. Dump station on site for $10 fee. RV spots are back in only. There is running water and flushable toilets on site; however, the water line was under repair and not turned on during our stay. It sounds like the repairs have been going on for a long time.

There is cellular service, but it’s a little slow. I have sprint carrier and had service.

Negatives: The campground is close a highway incline/decline which is frequented by Semi’s which bring lots of noise to the campground throughout the day and into the night.

Stinging Nettle: lots of stinging nettle located around group site B, so stay on the paths as much as possible.

      Tanners Flat

Good location for exploring Wasatch Mountains and Salt Lake City

You really need to know this: No dogs are allowed because this campground is in the Salt Lake City watershed.

And this: As inviting as the water running through the campground may look, you are not allowed to swim, wade or wash in it.

One more thing: Gate closes at 10 pm although that didn't stop some partiers at the next site in from us. They partied and left around 11 or so. There was no payment tag on the post. The exit is open but has tire shredders if you enter over them.

A pleasant surprise at a Forest Service campground: 10 lbs of ice for $2! (There was also the usual bundle of firewood for $6.)

An unpleasant surprise: Old, dirty bathrooms. I've seen cleaner vault toilets elsewhere than these flush toilets.

There is no water for now (July 2018) in bathroom sinks or at spigots. The host said something about a pipe issue and water needing to be tested. That covers the amenities other than dumpsters.

What about the sites? We arrived on a Sunday morning when the host was putting up signs indictating which sites were reserved. We had 3 possible sites among 1 through 19 and grabbed #9, a pull through site with a buffer between the road in the parking/small RV area.

Sites in the other area (higher numbers) were becoming available, but that area's host said many of the sites were only appropriate for tents.

Our site #9: There are a few steps down to the picnic table, fire ring and grill plus a separate area to the left for a tent. See photos.

      General site info:

      • Some sites have a concrete pad for the picnic table, etc.

      • Many sites have an area for the tent that is away from the picnic table and concealed from the road.

      Springville / Provo KOA Holiday

      Perfect getaway spot

This place has it all. Clean bathrooms, hot showers, washers n dryers, basketball court, playground, fenced in dog park, a clubhouse building that has arcade games, pool tables, full kitchen, skee ball, dart boards, recliners so comfy you won't wanna get up, all set up around a huge tv screen similar to being at a movie theater, BOWLING, yes bowling, an outdoor swimming pool, awesome friendly happy helpful staff and matience, green sites with power water sewer, pull thru and back in sites, picnic tables, BBQ grills, very family friendly there! And they seem to do cute things throughout the week inviting everyone to join, like free hotdogs and hangout at main pavilion, movie nights, game nights, like they actually care about you as people and not just a payment! Its a nice park for sure!

    Guide to Eagle Mountain

RV campgrounds near Eagle Mountain, Utah range in elevation from 4,500 to 7,000 feet, creating significant climate variations between properties. Summer temperatures can fluctuate by 10-15 degrees between valley and mountain sites, with mountain locations typically 5-8 degrees cooler. Most Eagle Mountain area RV parks experience strong afternoon winds from May through September, particularly at higher elevations.

    What to do

Fishing access: Lakeside RV Campground provides convenient access to Utah Lake fishing. "Cute little campground... located right off the main road that takes you to Utah Lake so there can be a lot of traffic going down the road," notes one camper who visited in August 2020.

Biking trails: Paved bike paths connect many campgrounds to local attractions. "Located on the edge of Canyon View Park... you could still walk on the trail through the park to access the main bike/walk trail which was awesome and goes on for many miles," reports a camper at Canyon View RV Park.

Mountain views: Mountain Valley RV Resort offers panoramic mountain views from most sites. "Located in beautiful Heber City, Utah... with an absolutely stunning view of Mount Timpanagos," writes one visitor who stayed during winter months.

    What campers like

Adult-only sections: Several parks separate family and adult camping areas. "Now they have opened a new section for adults only, with its own separate 21 and over facilities," explains a visitor about Mountain Valley RV Resort.

Dog parks: Pony Express RV Resort features multiple pet areas. "Three dog parks and dog washing bay," mentions a reviewer who found the grounds "very helpful, clean and pet friendly."

Private bathrooms: Clean, individual bathroom facilities receive consistent praise. "Bathrooms are very private and clean. The water pressure was high and temp was hot," notes a visitor to Mountain Valley, who appreciated the private shower stalls.

    What you should know

Airport proximity: Some parks experience significant aircraft noise. "You are directly next to the Provo airport which did get active around 6 am," cautions a recent Lakeside RV Campground visitor who stayed in 2025.

Fire restrictions: Fire policies vary significantly between properties. "Fires are not allowed in the individual sites, but the campground has three public gas fire pits. Or if you have your own gas fire pit, they will allow you to use it, but no wood burning is allowed," explains a camper about Mountain Valley RV Resort.

Hot water limitations: Utility systems at some parks have capacity issues. At Jones High Country RV Park, a visitor discovered that "if someone is doing laundry, we have to wait until they are done with laundry. So you could run out of hot water in the middle of the shower if someone does laundry."

    Tips for camping with families

Playground options: Canyon View RV Park provides playground access through its adjacent park. "Located on the edge of Canyon View Park... bathroom in the park was really clean," notes a visitor who valued the family-friendly amenities.

Pool timing: Pool hours may be restricted at some properties. At Mountain Shadows RV Park, "pool was busy but closes at 6pm, there is a tent camping and picnic area adjacent to the pool."

Site spacing considerations: Some parks offer limited space between units. Regarding Mountain Valley RV Resort, one reviewer noted "the RVs were really close together and it's hard to get any privacy. However, off is CLEAN, we felt comfortable but we like our privacy when we camp."

    Tips from RVers

Water pressure variation: Bring regulators to several rv campgrounds near Eagle Mountain. "Water pressure is high, use regulator," advises a visitor to Rollin' Home RV Park, echoing similar comments from other parks.

Reservation timing: Peak season availability becomes limited 3-4 months in advance. "We booked only about a week ahead of time, so we knew we wouldn't have one of the better plots. The place was emptier on the weekdays and filled-up on the weekends," explains a summer visitor to Park City RV Resort.

Navigation challenges: GPS directions to some parks may be inaccurate. One Rollin' Home RV Park visitor warns, "Our Garmin RV890 had us coming in from the South end of Four Mile rd.... only it completely missed the turn ONTO Four Mile. The road has no street sign, no rv park sign etc & said we were still 2m to the turn."
