A clear day at the dome observatory provides views as far as 100 miles. But explorers camping in Tennessee should plan on hiking their way up to the point, the roadway that leads to the observatory closes during inclement weather and from Dec. 1 to March 31 every year.

Bring your own RV or camper and stay in one of our full -hook up sites with 20, 30 and 50 amp service, water, sewer, cable and free wifi. Maybe you are wanting your kids to pitch a real tent (just like you did when you were their age!

Our primitive tent camping sites are located near the back of the property. They are an excellent option for individuals or groups who want to enjoy all the amenities of Camp LeConte but with a bit more of an authentic camping experience rolled in.

The Primitive Sites include areas for tents, but do not include individual electrical service or water. There are water faucets nearby and electric outlets at the Pavilion. Each site does have a fire ring with a grill and a small picnic table.Of course, all the other areas of Camp LeConte are available, such as the climate-controlled bathhouse, salt-water pool, and general store. The Primitive tent sites are just perfect for a small family gathering, a couple's’ getaway, or the solo traveler.

Our RV and Camper sites include 20/30/50 amp electric service, full hook-up water and sewer, cable TV and free wifi. Each site has a concrete patio and picnic table. Some sites have park grills and all sites have fire rings.

LECONTE CAMPGROUND

Watch the sun rise on one side of Troublesome Gap and watch it set on the other side. There is a circle drive for 2 teardrop / squaredrop or pop up campers and plenty of spots to pitch tents. There are also great spots to hang your hammock.

Camp where my family camps. My parents bought the property in the 1960s and we have camped up here, hiked, hunted, and cut firewood many weekends. We decided to share the property so you can enjoy camping up here too!

The property is in a remote location where you can enjoy the wildlife and the cooler temps in the summer. You'll have 3 acres all to yourself. You wont have to share the spot with anyone else unless you bring them. The closest grocery store is an hour away but the Trust General Store with a restaurant and gas approximately is 7 miles away. There is also a burger joint (Dave's 209) on the way to the Trust General Store.

This camping site is in a remote area and the nearest neighbor about 1/2 mile away. Max Patch is about 25 minutes away and features beautiful hiking.

The quaint town of Marshall is about 30 minutes away. Asheville is about an hour away.

The campsite is easily accessible from Baltimore Branch Road. However Baltimore Brand Road (public road) is steep in places and we don't recommend an RV bigger than a popup camper.

We also provide a porta-a-john for your convenience.

Once the reservation is made, I'll send out an info sheet with important info like the gate combination. Please let me know if you haven't received the info sheet within a week of making the reservation.

Site sits at 3400' elevation and is located 2 mi north of Bear Lake off NC Hwy 281. Area is popular with all outdoor enthusiasts due to the central location of 7 lakes, East Fork of the Tuckasegee to the Tuckasegee River (The Tuck), Blue Ridge Parkway, Nantahala & Pisgah National Forests and Smoky Mountain National Park. Cashiers, Highlands, Cherokee and Asheville are all within an hour of a scenic drive.

Camp Uptown Backwoods

We are a campground with tent sites and cabins. 40 acres to explore, the grounds are heavily forested, with walking trails and nature, nature, nature. Each site is secluded, We are located in the Cherokee National Forest at the foot of the Smokey Mountains. Just outside the towns of Hartford and Cosby. Hartford has River Rafting, Zip Lines, Kayaking on the Pigeon River. You will be able to get away from it all. but less than 45 minutes from favorite tourist attractions like Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville. We are located 2.6 miles off of I-40 at mile marker 447 just across the NC state line.



Shoestring Creek Campground

It's all about location!! Our camp is uniquely situated in one of the few remote areas in the Smokies, surrounded by many recreational activities. Our campsites are the perfect basecamp for your next adventure! Our property borders the Pisgah National Forest and is next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Big Creek entrance. Within 4 miles, there is an entrance to the Appalachian Trail, rafting along the Pigeon River, the Smoky Mountain 1000 bike trail, horseback riding trails, 4x4 trails, multiple hiking trails and so much more! Cataloochee Valley, NC and Cosby, TN are both fun drives (all gravel roads) from the camp. We are happy to share more information with you!

This portion of the camp consist of 2 sites with a community meeting house (aka the Big House) and a bathhouse. Both sites can be rented individually or the entire camp can be rented together. Each campsite has a fire ring, electric hookup, water hookup, room for multiple vehicles or tents, and access to the community bathhouse and the Big House. The bathhouse features a sink, flushing toilet, and a single shower. The Big House features a full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, and farm table. Potable water is now available onsite!

Please note: The camp boundary is surrounded by the National forest and is very secluded! 4x4 or AWD is required to access this property. There is a very small creek crossing to access the property. 4x4 is a MUST if pulling a trailer. Cell service is spotty and major services (stores and hospitals) are 30-45 min away. Please come prepared.

NOTE: The nightly rate is $65 per site for up to 4 guests. Each additional guest is $15. Each site can accommodate multiple vehicles, tents, etc. If you would like to rent the entire camp for a group, please reach out to us first so we can verify availability.

Hello! Creekside Gems Primitive Raw Earth Tent, Teardrop and Van sites, is located in a private Smoky Mountain Valley with a creek running through it. We are at the end of a tree lined gravel drive, which opens up into a large grassy valley. A world away, but only a scenic 25 minute drive down hwy 321, is picturesque Gatlinburg Tennessee.

For 23 years, Dragonshire has hosted groups and spiritual retreats of all paths, and we are now sharing this beautiful place to camp, with you! Peaceful and magickal, with plenty of room to camp safe distances from others, and a big main bonfire circle right in the middle of the meadow. When you exit the resort, Gatlinburg is only 10 miles , pigeon forge is 15 miles.

This resort has permanent residents and we ask all of our guest to respect them and keep the noise level to a minimum between 10 pm to 6am.

Please do not leave garbage at night because the animals will mess with it,

Before checking out please make sure you didn't forget anything and and take all trash with you and leave the lot clean , we don't want to be fined by the HOA.
