Best campground yet

Hosts were super friendly and the campground was incredibly taken care of. We stayed at the techno site with a tent and were able to set it up on a fresh pad of mulch so we didn’t have to sleep on the gravel. The bath house was super clean and tidy. The campground was close to many hiking areas and…

Tight unlevel spaces wifi $8/day

Sites are not well developed with power and sewer in odd places. Monthly rentals and not well kept. Has lake access but big manufacturing plant nearby and a little noisy, wouldn't swim here.

Quirky Campground, Spectacular Location

I wish I had read some of these reviews before booking my reservation so I would have been prepared for the fact we would have had to park our campervan on the road ABOVE our campsite. On the other hand, I’m glad I didn’t know because it might have prevented me from staying here. And this…

Wonderful!

We stayed in Big Creek for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The camp is beautiful and you are surrounded by the magical sounds of rushing water. There are two creeks nearby, one big and one small. We spent one day simply enjoying the campground. There are some trails nearby but most…

Great place for Backpackers!

Had a fantastic time here. It’s about a 2 mile hike to the campsite. We had about 12 other campers there. Hour hike to see firefly event. Creek runs by campsite for fresh water. Bear cables for food, did see a bear about 1 mile away. Recommend!

Excellent location, views, & amenities for tent campers

We stayed at Tent Site #3 in late May and early June. We have stayed at the campground twice before. We love coming back here because of the great amenities, location, and access to activities.

  1. The amenities are great for the kind of tent camping we like to do: electric & water at each…
  • Sitting on the picnic table & cooking dinner at the fire ring
  • You pull your car right up to the site (except for site #2). Water and electricity available here too.
  • Making breakfast on picnic table. Tent site #4's picnic table was not level, but all of the other tent sites seemed to have the picnic table level on the ground.

Can’t Go Wrong

This was our first trip to the Smoky Mountains and what a beautiful way to see it. Beautiful grounds, friendly and quiet neighbors, and the sites were secluded. Trails all around!! We did a trail run in the early morning and came upon a rattlesnake at the top so just...like...be careful.

Some sites better than others

The campground is quite secluded and only has 27 sites. On our stay during a holiday weekend, we learned that many of those were "locals" that have been coming for years and say it's the best campground around. The roads are rough to get there no matter which way you come, however a fair number of…

Away from crowds

I'm giving this campground 5 stars because you'll feel like you're in a part of the park that no one goes to. It's over an hour to get to the main part of the park, visitor centers, etc. There's still several hikes in the Balsam area so there's no need to drive to the main entrance if you don't…

Fun... Enough

Just a very small campground, seems to be family friendly with just enough amenities. There's a playground, sand boxes and paved semi level RV pads. I wouldn't come back but the place is very quiet. If you're into that...

Love this campground!!

Sites 51 and 52 are primitive and you have to cross a foot bridge to get to them. Sites 64 - 68 are primitive as well but you're able to park at your site. Site 52 is by far my favorite and I've anyway reserved it again for July. The staff here is amazing, bathrooms are well kept, and the creek is…

Such a beautiful view from the campsite

Had a blast at The Greenbrier Campground in Gatlinburg Tennessee. We had a view of the river which was right next to.our campsite.
