FISHING

Camping at Lake Marion, \*\*the largest lake in South Carolina, \*\*comes with a lot of perks, such as a phenomenal fishing opportunity. Since angling is not just about catching the biggest fish, take the chance to teach your budding fishermen the virtue of patience by the shores of Lake Marion. Some of the fish you’ll likely encounter include striped bass, channel catfish, and black crappie.

BOATING

Should fishing sound interesting, wait until you hear about the boating opportunities. Lake Marion and the neighboring Lake Moultrie are part of a navigable inland channel leading to [Charleston](<https://www.outdoorsy.com/rv-rental/south-carolina/charleston>) from Columbia. If you’re feeling eager to boat down to Charleston, you’ll get to pass through the Pinopolis Dam and Lock, which at 75-foot in height, is the largest single-step lock in North America.

HIKING

While camping in a rental motorhome at Lake Marion, fun isn’t only limited to the water. The low country in South Carolina is relatively flat, so hiking through the countryside is fairly easy. The massive Santee National Wildlife Refuge has a healthy wildlife population consisting of alligators, waterfowl, and the Springflyer Dragonfly. BEACH FUN & MORE

CrossRoads Coach Resort at the ROB is a quaint little RV park located in the Heart of Art! We offer paved streets and level concrete pads with ample room for slides. All sites have 30/50 amp service, fresh water and sewer hookups. In addition there is free citywide wifi. Our bathhouse and laundry facility is under construction and we expect it to be operational shortly.

We are just a short walk or bike ride away from boutique shopping, museums, a library, fresh fruit stand, art galleries, murals, fantastic restaurants, meat and fish markets.

Camping Information: The 50-site Cypress View Campground sits on the west side of the park. The Lakeshore Campground, with 108 sites, is located on the east side of the park. Each site is packed sand and has individual water and electrical hookups and a picnic table. Both campgrounds are convenient to restroom facilities with hot showers. Many sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet.

Primitive Group Area: A primitive group camping area is ideal for organized groups up to 100 people. (An organized group is defined as a group that holds regular meetings and has a lead officer or elected/appointed officials.) The area includes central water and is located near restoom facilities. Reservations are accepted.

Pets: Pets are allowed in cabins 11 and 12 and cabins 13-20 at Santee State Park. Pets are not allowed in any other cabins or the cabin areas. Pets are allowed in most other outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.
