Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Seville, OH

Maple Lakes Campground accommodates dogs at no additional fee, with specified rules requiring pets to remain at campsites rather than walking throughout the park. Several pet-friendly options exist within 20 miles of Seville, including Sunset Lake Campground and Camp Hiyo, both offering cabin camping for visitors traveling with dogs. The grounds at these establishments maintain clean facilities with well-spaced sites providing ample room for pets. Visitors seeking full hookups with pet accommodation can choose from Pier-Lon Park, American Wilderness Campground, and Willow Lake Park, all operating seasonally between April and October. Many sites feature large grassy areas and shaded spots ideal for pets during summer months.

Campers with dogs appreciate the fenced dog parks at Camp Hiyo, which maintains two separate enclosures for pet exercise. Most campgrounds enforce leash requirements outside designated areas and expect owners to clean up after their pets. The region offers numerous outdoor recreation opportunities with pets, including access to nearby hiking trails and fishing lakes where dogs can enjoy shoreline walks. Several campgrounds feature fishing ponds with benches along the water's edge, providing peaceful spots for campers and their four-legged companions. During summer weekends, some facilities become quite busy with seasonal residents, so advance reservations are recommended for travelers with pets seeking weekend accommodations or holiday stays.

    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

Great for the price and location

Stayed here to be close to the NP and it is a great little campground for a reasonable price. Big dog park with pond on the other side of the park. Sites are uneven but my favorite part was the wooded path.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

Guide to Seville

Cabin camping near Seville offers overnight options within 20 miles of town. The area features forested terrain with elevations ranging from 950 to 1,100 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures typically range from 65-85°F, while spring and fall camping seasons bring cooler nights in the 40s and daytime highs in the 60s.

What to do

Hiking trails access: Findley State Park Campground provides extensive trail networks suitable for day hikes. "Findley state park is well maintained large park! We can easily get lost on 3 mile hikes in the woods and still be on marked paths! The roads are paved and excellent for biking and skating," notes Kimberly C.

Water recreation: Multiple campgrounds offer fishing and boating opportunities from spring through fall. At American Wilderness Campground, visitors can enjoy "beautiful clean serene park with absolutely stunning beach views at sunset," according to Andrew V. The campground also features "fishing available here" with additional activities for children.

Winter activities: Unlike many area campgrounds that close in October, Findley State Park remains open year-round for winter camping. The park maintains cross-country ski trails when snow conditions permit, offering winter recreation options not commonly found at seasonal facilities.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Campers consistently mention facility cleanliness as a priority. "The bathrooms were clean but dated. Owners are making improvements all the time," notes Wilson W. about Willow Lake Park. Many campgrounds implement regular bathroom cleaning schedules.

Swimming options: Natural swimming areas provide summer cooling options. "Nice clean campground with lots of activities and also amenities the bathrooms and shower house were clean as well felt so comfortable made lots of friends," reports John C. about American Wilderness Campground, which maintains a swimming beach separate from its fishing lake.

Spacious sites: Sunset Lake Campground earns praise for site sizing and spacing. "This is a very quiet and relaxing campground. The grounds are clean and the sites are very well spaced," according to Carrisa P. Grassy sites at many locations provide natural settings rather than gravel pads.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Popular campgrounds fill quickly during peak season. At Findley State Park, Jeffrey L. advises, "Only downfall is trying to find an open spot for reservations. Place is booked most of the time. If you're planning a holiday weekend you need to book 6 months in advance."

Seasonal operations: Most dog friendly campgrounds near Seville operate on limited schedules. Typical operating seasons run April through October, with varying specific dates by property. Willow Lake Park operates May 1 through October 18, while American Wilderness Campground opens April 28 and closes October 15.

Water quality varies: Several campgrounds utilize well water that may have mineral content. At Willow Lake, a reviewer noted, "I'm not sure what's up with the water, but it smells like metal and you're probably better off bringing your own drinking water." This issue affects multiple properties in the region.

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Family-oriented campgrounds provide designated play areas for children. Clay's Resort Jellystone Park offers extensive recreation options according to Michael J.: "If you have kids there is no place better tons of things to do, great water park, amusement place near by, good people and nice family atmosphere."

Pet exercise areas: For families camping with dogs, Rvino - Camp Hiyo offers dedicated pet spaces. "Nice park, two fenced dog parks. Bathrooms were clean," notes Steven V. These enclosed areas allow dogs to exercise off-leash while remaining contained.

Rainy day options: Weather contingency planning matters for family trips. Clay's Resort provides indoor activities during inclement conditions, including an indoor pool when temperatures drop or rain prevents outdoor swimming. Some campgrounds also maintain game rooms for children during poor weather.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: Many campgrounds in the area have natural terrain variations. At Silver Springs Campground, Judy F. reports, "Very nice, quiet city campground. Many unlevel sites. Only 3-30 amp hooks ups, the rest are 20 amp." Bringing leveling blocks is recommended for most locations.

Hookup availability: Full-service sites with water, electric and sewer connections remain limited at many parks. Willow Lake Park offers electric hookups but requires scheduled pump-out service rather than providing sewer connections. Sunset Lake and Maple Lakes Campgrounds provide full hookups at most sites.

Spring conditions: Early season camping can encounter moisture issues at pet friendly campgrounds near Seville. Ro B. observed at Sunset Lake, "My wife and I visited in early May 2023, they were just starting to open things up after drying out... Many of the sites are grassy and I could see the potential to get stuck if you ended up in heavy rains."
