Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA Holiday features two separate dog parks and private fenced dog sites for camping with pets. Several pet-friendly campgrounds near Eastlake accommodate dogs with specialized amenities, including Silver Springs Campground with its adjacent Bow Wow Beach dog park where dogs can swim freely. Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA provides dedicated pet areas with a dog park described as immaculately maintained with lush grass and no bare spots. Camping options range from basic tent sites to full-hookup RV spots and pet-friendly cabins. Most campgrounds enforce standard leash policies when pets are outside designated off-leash areas. The dog park at Silver Springs is frequently mentioned as exceptional, with one visitor noting it's possibly the best they've ever seen, complete with a swimming beach exclusively for dogs.

Bow Wow Beach dog park provides an excellent opportunity for dogs to run and swim before getting back on the road after camping. Lake Erie Bluffs offers pet-friendly primitive camping with hiking trails where dogs are welcome, though campers should be vigilant about ticks when visiting with pets. Geneva State Park Campground allows pets on its paved bike trail but not on the swimming beach, requiring families with dogs to plan accordingly. Most campgrounds maintain clean facilities with portable toilets or restrooms near pet-friendly camping areas. Several locations offer convenient access to veterinary services in nearby towns. Campgrounds like Silver Springs provide spacious sites where pets can be comfortably accommodated, though some visitors note the importance of checking event schedules before booking as large gatherings might disturb pets sensitive to noise and crowds.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

Water activities on Lake Erie: Perry Township Park provides direct lake access with basic amenities. One visitor shares, "There's only a few sites available. The rest are seasonal sites. What campers like

Lake views and shoreline access: Campers consistently praise the Lake Erie access points. One visitor to Perry Township Park shared, "Stopped through for 1 night with no reservation. Called and the camp host was super helpful and friendly! Got in after dinner and luckily we were just car camping, because we got (in our opinion) the best site there! 23 has a great shot of the lake, nice cinder blocks built up to block any wind from the fire pit."

Private and secluded sites: Lake Erie Bluffs offers primitive camping with excellent lake views. A camper reported, "Walk in sites with a beautiful view of Lake Erie! Quiet, clean, well kept! Provided firewood was great! Able to watch Eagles soaring over Lake Erie listening to the waves hit the bluff below!"

    What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Uneven terrain presents challenges at several campgrounds. A camper at Punderson noted, "The lots are not even close to level. You will need a lot of blocks to get close to level. Saw one RV with auto levelers with his tire about foot off the ground."

A visitor noted, "We checked in late and they came around and gathered our info and told us about the place." Check with the campground about upcoming events before booking, especially during summer.
