    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

Great for the price and location

Stayed here to be close to the NP and it is a great little campground for a reasonable price. Big dog park with pond on the other side of the park. Sites are uneven but my favorite part was the wooded path.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

    Family and pet friendly

OverLl great campground. The sites are a little close together but we still enjoyed our time there. Staff is super friendly and there was plenty for the kids to do, pool, arcade, fishing, and playground. Decent size dog park to let your dogs run and decent trails nearby.

Guide to Berlin Center

Berlin Center, Ohio camping areas sit on the western edge of the Mahoning Valley at approximately 1,090 feet elevation. The region features a humid continental climate with warm summers and moderate snowfall in winter. Most campgrounds in the area operate seasonally from April through October, with many closing after mid-October due to weather conditions.

What to do

Hiking near water features: The trails surrounding Guilford Lake State Park Campground provide access to numerous lakeside paths. "The small boating (kayaks, canoes, etc) facilities and small boat ramp were fantastic. The lake was very very pleasant," notes Justin G.

Dog-friendly explorations: Take your pets to Nelson-Kennedy Ledges Quarry Park where various trails accommodate different skill levels. "There are numerous trails for different skill levels and tons of caves to explore. Also the view at the end is fantastic and is a great place to relax and read for the day," according to Anthony S.

Seasonal produce visits: Located near several campgrounds, local farms offer fresh seasonal items. "We did a donut run and explored the farm for our outing for the day," shares a visitor who stayed at Salem-Lisbon Ohio KOA while visiting White House Fruit Farm.

What campers like

Affordable lakefront access: Multiple campers note the reasonable rates at lakeside sites. "Low cost for staying ($18 for a waterside, spacious site for up to 8 people, 2 tents at no additional costs)," states Katie about Mill Creek Camping. This makes pet-friendly camping accessible on a budget.

Quiet camping options: For those seeking less crowded spaces, certain sections of campgrounds offer more seclusion. "The camp sites on the water are very spacious, but the ones on the inside of the loop, not so much," mentions Kevin C. about Guilford Lake State Park Campground.

Winter camping availability: Unlike many seasonal operations, some campgrounds remain open year-round. "This was an awesome place for a winter trip! The tent sites were big and right on the lake," notes Sienna L. about Salem-Lisbon Ohio KOA.

What you should know

Campsite spacing varies significantly: Many campgrounds in the area feature close quarters. At Lake Milton-Berlin Lake KOA, Kelly R. observed, "My only complaint is that the sites are very close together, it felt like we had no privacy at all."

Bathroom facilities differ widely: From full facilities to minimal options, bathroom amenities range considerably. "Bathrooms are just port-a-johns located on either side of the campground but there are flushable toilets a little walk away," explains Abbey E. about Silver Springs Campground.

Early check-in fees: Some campgrounds charge additional fees for arriving before standard check-in times. "He got there around 12:30 in the afternoon and they charged him $15 for early check in. It was a tent site, in a field, with no power," reports Chuck E. about Lake Milton-Berlin Lake KOA.

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Lake Milton-Berlin Lake KOA features water attractions specifically designed for children. "The kids absolutely loved swimming in the little lake and sliding/jumping off the inflatables," states Kelly R.

Dog-friendly beach areas: While official swimming beaches may restrict pets, some campgrounds offer dedicated pet areas. "We have a Rottie mix and they allow her in. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because both times we have been here, the lady at the check in drive up window seemed very confused," shares Sarah K.

Playground considerations: Several campgrounds maintain playgrounds, but conditions vary. "The playground was covered in caution tape, so it could not be used," reported Ryan K. about Country Acres Campground, highlighting the importance of confirming current amenity status.

Tips from RVers

Level site challenges: Finding level sites can be difficult at some locations. "Campground is large with many sites so the probability of inconsiderate people is higher," notes Cheryl K. about Mill Creek Camping.

Hook-up locations: At certain campgrounds, utility placement affects site usability. "Our sewer hookup was next to the neighbors campfire so we couldn't hook up and had to use the dump station before we left," explains Julie F. about Lake Milton-Berlin Lake KOA.

Late arrival preparations: For those arriving after office hours, procedures vary. "Please arrive before 7pm (office closes) to get a last minute spot if available always call ahead," advises Brian D. about Ridge Ranch Family Campgrounds.
