Best RV Parks & Resorts near Berlin Center, OH

Several RV parks near Berlin Center accommodate large motorhomes with varying hookup options. Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground in Hubbard offers 115 sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, operating from May through October. RV Village Camping Resort in Mercer provides full hookup sites with 50-amp service and is big rig friendly, while Kool Lakes Family RV Park features both 50-amp electric and full hookup options on mostly gravel pads. Thousand Trails Kenisee Lake in Jefferson contains both back-in and pull-through sites with 30 and 50-amp service. "The sites have gravel pads except the handicap-accessible ones which were paved. The sites were completely covered with leaves when we were there which made it challenging to determine where the actual narrow pad was."

Many campgrounds in the region require advance reservations during peak summer months, particularly for premium pull-through sites with full hookups. Cell service varies significantly between parks, with some visitors reporting strong coverage at Streetsboro KOA but limited connectivity at more rural locations. Dump stations are available at most parks, though some like West Branch State Park offer dual-lane facilities to reduce waiting times during busy checkout periods. Pet-friendly options are common throughout the area, though specific dog areas vary by park. Winter camping options are limited, as most facilities close between October and April. Propane refill services are scarce, with only a few campgrounds offering on-site filling stations. A visitor noted that "the dump station isn't the best; it is on a hill so dumping one's waste tanks completely could be a challenge."

    Tomlinson Run State Park Campground

    Nice little State Park

Tomlinson Run is a small state park situated in the northern panhandle of West Virginia nestled between eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Plenty of things to do there including but not limited to…. Mini golf, hiking trails, biking, swimming, fishing, paddle boats, parks for the kids, and of course the camping. The campsites here are mainly gravel pads with the exception being the asphalt handicapped spots (2). Most spots are 30 amp with a few 50 amp (new for 2021). The park also has a few primitive spots available and some yurts and cabins to rent. I have a 38’ fifth wheel and the spots are tight for it (even the couple pull thru). Campground facilities are clean but dated. They state new facilities are coming soon. The campground is at the top of a hill and the spots are wooded and shaded. I would consider the camping to be spaced generously (room to stretch out). They have a small camp store and information available. A breakfast is available during peak season for a small fee. They do have water and a dump station available (free for campers to use).

    Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA Holiday

    Happy Camping

Relax, breath, and camp. Perfect spot.

This Campground is quiet, full of fun, for families or older people. Beautiful area.
Many pull through lots, with patios. 50. 30. Full hookup, (sewer and Electric) back in, pull through, tent sites, cabins, teepees. Swimming pool, private bathrooms and showers. Fishing lake, swimming lake, trails. Children play areas. Basketball, bad mitten/volleyball, Dog wash, dog parks (2), private fenced dog sites. (2)- pull through site. Golf cart rentals, and seasonal sites that are being updated, but all are decorated nicely, and kept up.
KOA is revamping some of this campground. Work in progress, but awesome stay.

    Amish Country Campsites

    Amish campsite

Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field extremely cramped back if our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right. When we left we had to knock on camper doors to ask folks to move their cars so we could pull out of out parking spot. The other campers were very nice lots of local folks they were fun to talk to. The camp site did have clean showers. Hot water. And. Clean restroom facilities. The dump station isn’t the best it is on a hill so dumping ones waste tanks completely could be a challenge The owners were polite but short The sites aren’t the best the electric is only 30 amp. And very dated they did have water hookups at each site. I didn’t take any pictures as there wasn’t anything to see at the campground other than campers packed in like sardines It is close to town and the shops. Everything closed at 5:00 including gas stations As they say any port in a storm. So as a last resort I guess it’s is okay. Just don’t plan to leave after 5:00 pm unless you have a full tank of gas. No ada camp sites. They are pet friendly

    Thousand Trails Kenisee Lake

Great spacious park with 2 lakes!

Kenisee Lake RV Resort Thousand Trails in Jefferson, Ohio is a another great Thousand Trails park! This park is very large and has a park-like setting with 2 lakes. There is fishing on the lakes and the campground has rowboats available to use. They have all the amenities a family could want such as swimming pool, playground, mini-golf, and more! The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Kenisee Lake has 30 and 50 amp FHU back-in and pull-through sites. The only downside is the internet which is lacking in this area. We have really enjoyed our stay here and will be returning! 👍🏻😬

    Atwood Lake Park Campground

    Incredible!

The Atwood Lake Campground is a true gem in a beautiful area of eastern Ohio! We’ve visited the Atwood region many times in the past but have never camped - but after this visit we’ll be back for sure. The campground is relatively new, with the campground area being completely revamped beginning in 2017. There are two overnight camping areas with seasonal sites in a separate section; we stayed in “Camp H” which is the newest area. There is a huge bathhouse with two sets of men’s and women’s restrooms and shower facilities along with a very nice laundry area. Adjoining the bathhouse area is a beautiful pavilion and children’s playground - all of which overlooks Atwood Lake. The campsites are nicely spaced though if you’re in the inner loop as we were or even some of the outer ring sites you’ll be looking right into your neighbor’s site. All sites are FHU on level concrete pads and include a metal picnic table and fire ring. If needed there are two very well equipped dump stations if you prefer to use them instead of the sewer connection at your site. Many sites are on cul de sacs directly on the lake with docks and fishing areas adjacent to the campsites. Lots of hiking trails, paved bike paths, a swimming beach and restaurant are in a nearby area. We loved the campground and will return soon!

    Bear Run Campground

    Loads to do...!

This campground is deceptively big! The nightly RV sites are close to the park entrance and are relatively flat. The campground hosts themed events, game nights and arts& crafts. There is a swimming pool and playground for the kids. It also has a small café that sells baked goods and coffee. On Saturdays they sell amazing Armish Donuts!

Further into the campground the sites turn to more permanent sites. Further up the hill are more cottages and camping. This campground is steep in parts and too large to walk efficiently. There is a fenced dog run area and a beautiful lake. All sites have fire rings. There is an onsite laundry, WIFI, onsite dump station and propane refill station.

You can also buy ice and firewood. The campground is gated. Lots to do at the campground and lots to do in the surrounding area. They welcome all furry friends!

    Raccoon Creek State Park Campground

    Raccoon Creek Camping

This is a large state park offering electric only sites

The sites are set amounts the forest and there are several loops to choose from. Loop F is pet friendly. All sites are within walking distance to amenities

Amenities are quite run down but functional

Wildlife is beautiful and its a short ~10min drive to the beach area of Raccoon Creek lake.

Two (2) dump station spots and fresh water taps location throughout the park

NOTE: Many sites are not level, you will require blocks/timber to level out campers. Tent campers should choose their site using the photos on the state park site.

All sites have a paved car space.

    Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA

    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

    Mercer-Grove City KOA

    Really nice!

Very well maintained campground with lots of amenities, esp for kids (pool, playground). Generous sized sites, not too close together. Looks like quite a few long-term RVers here. Cute chickens wandering around. Hiking trail accessible from the campsite. Heavily wooded and quiet, but not too far off interstate.

Guide to Berlin Center

Camping spots near Berlin Center, Ohio are nestled in the northeastern region of the state among rolling farmland and wooded areas. The terrain features moderate elevation changes ranging from 1,020 to 1,240 feet above sea level. Most campgrounds in this area sit on former agricultural land that's been converted to recreational use, creating open camping areas interspersed with stands of oak, maple and hickory trees.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At Austin Lake RV Park & Cabins, visitors can fish in the small lake throughout their stay. "Our kids age 4 and 8 fished from sun up Saturday to about noon and then sporadically after that throughout the day. That night we hunted large bull frogs. All catch and release," reports one camper.

Nature exploration: Nelson-Kennedy Ledges Quarry Park offers geological features and hiking trails of varying difficulty. "There are numerous trails for different skill levels and tons of caves to explore. Also the view at the end is fantastic and is a great place to relax and read for the day," notes a visitor.

Water activities: Kayaking and paddleboarding are popular at multiple campgrounds. A camper at Austin Lake mentions, "Tons of stuff to do here... Inflatable slides and such in the lake, hiking trials, playgrounds, all sorts of stuff."

What campers like

Community atmosphere: Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground receives praise for its welcoming environment. "When I first got here the 2 owners went above and beyond in so many ways. Unfortunately they didn't have a 50 amp site available so the owner gave me 30 amp converter at no cost and also helped me hook up my gray water and black water connections," shares one visitor.

Spacious settings: Thousand Trails Kenisee Lake offers larger camping areas. "Kenisee Lake RV Resort Thousand Trails in Jefferson, Ohio is a another great Thousand Trails park! This park is very large and has a park-like setting with 2 lakes," writes a reviewer.

Year-round options: Unlike many seasonal campgrounds, Evergreen Park RV Resort operates throughout winter. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. There were only 3 other campers there. It was a great place to stay. Friendly staff and everything was so clean," notes a winter visitor.

What you should know

Connectivity varies: Cell service is inconsistent across rv sites near Berlin Center, Ohio. At Kenisee Lake, one visitor notes, "The only downside is the internet which is lacking in this area." Another reports needing "an external antenna to cellular internet."

Site differences: Some parks have tighter spacing than others. At Countryside Campground, "The pull thru sites were a tad small but nice and long. Even with the sites close together it was quiet and peaceful."

Additional fees: Some campgrounds charge for activities beyond the site rental. A visitor to Austin Lake cautions: "Austin lake offers plenty of fun with the lake. Kayaking, inflatables, beach, but almost anything you want to do will cost you an additional charge. Need to use the bathhouse? Better take quarters....bc the showers are coin operated."

Road conditions: Access roads to some campgrounds may be challenging. For Austin Lake, a camper advises, "Be advised it will seem a little sketchy getting in. The road dead-ends into the campground and it is all downhill getting there. Take your time and all will be just fine."

Tips for camping with families

Swimming amenities: Parks with swimming options rank high for families with children. A visitor to Countryside Campground shares, "We spent a long weekend in a pull thru site. The bathrooms were clean, the showers were nice and the pool was well kept."

Planned activities: Roundup Lake RV Resort organizes events for children. "The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!" reports a camper.

Playground access: Multiple campgrounds feature play areas for children. At Chestnut Ridge, a family notes, "Our family really enjoyed staying here, and our kids especially loved swimming and fishing in the lake... We were camping in a tent and were really happy that the bathrooms were close to the tenting area."

Wildlife experiences: Countryside Campground offers nature exploration opportunities. "A nice short walk takes you to Mogadore reservoir," mentions one visitor, providing children with opportunities to view local wildlife.

Tips from RVers

Pad composition: RV sites near Berlin Center vary in construction. At most campgrounds, gravel is common. A visitor to Countryside Campground shares, "Large campground with gravel sites."

Site spacing: RV Village Camping Resort accommodates larger vehicles despite some site limitations. "The daily sites are a bit tight which lends to noisy evenings past quiet hours. We had to get creative making white noise for our toddler to sleep," notes a family.

Parking orientation: For easier setup, timing matters. At Countryside Campground, one RVer advises, "Advice - get there early or you'll have many vehicles and campers to watch for as you back in!"

Seasonal considerations: Most rv camping options around Berlin Center close between October and May. Plan accordingly, as a reviewer at Chestnut Ridge notes, "The park is largely seasonal but has several spots for drop-in RVs and tents. Big rig accessible."
