I wish I could say it was a good experience but within the first 24 hrs, proved otherwise. Right away I received a call about my dog barking. She is a new mom and very protective, so she alerts us when someone she doesn't know is near or another dog. Never after quiet hours. Her pups play like…
A little south of Bismarck, this relaxed, beautiful campground is part of a larger park and has large shade trees and well spaced sites. Non-electric sites are only $12! Great spot! We stayed in the tent area with a teardrop trailer.
The campground is close to town in case you need anything. The camping rigs/RV area gets pretty crowded, especially on weekends. It has a sand beach and swimming area. Playground for kids, along with picnic shelters. Vault toilets.
The big draw here is probably the fishing. 2 fishing piers, 1…
We stayed here overnight on a long journey & were very impressed with the friendly and clean environment! Nice shrubbery and trees throughout, a pool during the summer season, dog park, and playground. Will definitely be staying here again.
Stayed 1 night on a fishing trip. We had fun caught a couple fish. It's not for everyone small and only off grid tent camping.
Perfect fall getaway! We stayed on a Sunday to Monday, prior to a college visit with our son. No crowd, and had the campground and fall leaves all to ourselves. Sites are for the most part a nice distance from each other and many have asphalt pads. Bathrooms were clean and suitable.

Why is this free?! Perfect overnight on our road trip. Spacious, easy and the cleanest pit toilet I’ve ever used!
- Easy to get to. We followed Waze to “Sweet Briar Lake” and looked at Apple Maps to get a sense of the layout. From the highway there are signs to the lake recreation area. Lots of…

Multiple places to pull off and set up around a scenic lake. A few minutes off the highway on well maintained roads- you can’t ask for a better spot than this on a road trip! Water pump at the first boat ramp you pass, pit toilets scattered around, picnic shelters, fire rings, and picnic tables,…
The camp around this area is very plain. And when I’m mean plain I mean the GREAAAT Plains! We had a whole bunch of fun learning about the camp and General Custard. There is a bunch of history and many happy faces in this area. Everything you would need here is only a stone throw away. We enjoyed…

This place was great! Only stayed here one night passing through on our way back to MN. Very well maintained and clean, huge campsites that are well spaced from others. There are campsites all around the lake/park, some in their own little private nook. Great sunset and the bugs were minimal too.…
I throughly enjoyed this park. Very affordable and plenty of room between campers. We had so much fun riding bike and viewing the river!
We viewed the Custard House and it was very interesting as well, it’s a must see!
This site was very quiet and the park rangers are always patrolling it…
Stayed for free, but I really dont think it was supposed to be based on the county website... oops lol but the sheriff that passed by my tent paid us no mind. The sounds of the river were great, but ruined by the sounds of the vehicles going further south to the fishing and boat docks. About 1am is…
We stayed at General Sibley campground on our family vacation in 2018. Large campground & we were pretty much in our own area. Frisbee golf course & playground. Nice first stop on our journey!

We stayed here during our family vacation in 2018. It was basically a parking lot, but did have some green space. We did have an end spot, which was nice! Great playground that the kids loved! The swimming beach was awesome - sand & great water & view.

Short drive off the highway quite a few camping spots.
