Hidden Gem

The residents of Michigan are incredibly welcoming. The Duffers Golf Club next to campground is inexpensive, unique and even has clubs available for free use! The members were having a tournament and invited us to join them after our round for an amazing steak dinner and conversation. We just…

Inner city camping

Was a bit curious about staying at a place that, on the map, was between two towns on a river. This campground was really nice. If you did not want to cook, there are 4 restaurants within 3 blocks of your campsite. And a Cabelas within 4 blocks, so if you forget anything, it’s close by. There are…

Urban RV Park

This the most urban state park campground in MN. It’s within East Grand Forks. Not quiet and felt like a town of RVs. Great amenities and coffee nearby, not wild.

An RV camping experience, unless you're walking

If you're looking for somewhere to park a big RV, this campground is modern, convenient, and nicely-equipped. There's no privacy or nature to be had, though. It's a grassy plain with straight rows of pull-throughs.

However, there are a handful of walk-in sites off to the side that looked…

Campground with a history

This campground used to be houses before flooding so the roads are paved campsites are pretty open mostly all pull through sites. Walk in campsites on the red river give amazing views and seclusion just a short walk away. Campground is also right downtown East Grand Forks for easy access for any…

Very Nice Campground

This is an in the city campground that is clean and well maintained. Showers are free and seem to last forever on one push of the button. It’s walking distance close to restaurants, a movie theater and other stores/shops. It’s also set along the Greater Grand Forks greenway with miles of paved…

Urban Camping

Nice facilities but very little privacy and shade. Very large playground and pool over the hill from campground as well as many smaller playgrounds throughout the park. HC Trail takes you through town and through a cool tunnel.

Fab HC Trail in July!

Park is on the smaller side compared to other state parks but was great with a very nice beach. Scenic prairie trail with tons of wild life to watch like butterflies, frogs, chipmunks, grasshoppers, and caterpillars. Wild Raspberries grow along the trail as well.

Nice area and historical

This was a really cool park to go to, there’s a couple historical building for those interested in history and mills. Many trails to walk on and there’s a beach area for those who like to swim. Campsites are nicely spread out and everyone is friendly.

Huot

Camping is free, no reservations required. The unfortunate side effect, sometimes, is camping around irresponsible campers. Avoid major holidays. Besides that one issue the campsite allows tents and RV's, has latrines, and a boat/canoe launch on the Red Lake River. Each site has a picnic table,…

  • One of the, at least, 12 sites. Nice and level.

A Park with Quiet Beauty

While this park isn't a take your breath away experience, it is a solid park for hiking and solitude. We went in fall so we didn't get to enjoy but there was a beautiful sand beach to swim at that would be perfect in the summer time.
