Fall camping at Mortimer

Beautiful, clean grounds with access to a 1/2 mile round trip hike to a waterfall on the property! Definitely plan ahead on provisioning bc it’s about 45 mins drive into the national forrest. Definitely will be going back!

Great stay

This was our second trip to bear den and we love it more each time. This is a great park, spacious sites for campers. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Couldn't think of anyway to make this a better campground.

First time camping

I LOVED bear den campgrounds, everyone was so nice and accommodating! We knew it was gonna rain but the last night we stayed it was gonna be none stop rain so we upgraded to a cabin and they were so kind!!! The waterfall was breathtaking and the hikes were hard which made me excited that it wasn’t…

Right by the ding dang highway, but the folks were nice!

This is definitely a spot for folks who want to camp for cheap and spend their time NOT IN THE CAMPGROUND. Go explore Asheville!

This location is separated from a major highway only by 40 feet or so, so there was constant car noise. Their tent camping has little to no tree cover so we were…

Closed for at least 1 1/2 years

Unfortunately we were unable to camp here. According to park ranger said this campground is closed for one year or longer. No explanation was given as to why. Ft Hamby Campground is nearby and open.

Serene

This was our first visit to this campground and we loved it! We were in the area for a golf tournament. Sites are spacious and fairly level. There are options for folks who don’t have an RV: yurts, tiny houses, vintage trailers, and small cabins. Staff is very friendly and there’s lots for kids to…

Great riverside campground

Very nice, but small sites. Full hookups and wifi at a state park, which is nice. Historic area with demonstrations and visitor center. Beautiful hiking trail by the river and riverside sites

Excellent campsite

We stayed 2 nights at this campground and we were throughly impressed. The campsite we had was large and well kept, and was located right by the bath house. The bathroom facilities were very clean and made the stay much easier, especially since we were camping with kids. We will definitely be back!

All about the Ambiance

We found this RV Park to be dreamy, the sounds of the creek were very relaxing listening from our private deck. The grounds are immaculate and lit with beautiful lights at night. The bathrooms were immaculate and the camp store and firewood delivery is very convenient. I sat in the creek in my…

Roan Mountain State Park

The staff is great, all public areas are clean and organized. The facilities are nice, but you might want to look at your site first if you can. There are some places that big rigs will not fit into, and some you won't be able to get to. Some of the sites, the picnic table, fire pit, and grill…

Nice

Called in on Saturday Morning got a cabin at a great price for the night. Family oriented place. Older couple that runs it is super nice and friendly but doesn’t bother you. Shower house clean water hot hot. Quiet time is respected.

Quiet place to stay for a few days!

Quiet, secluded little gem in the woods! Sites and facilities are well kept and clean. Camp hosts are wonderful. Friendly and helpful! Lots to do while you're out here. Long way from Bristol, so don't forget anything.
