Best RV Parks & Resorts near Laingsburg, MI

Sleepy Hollow State Park Campground provides electric hookups and accommodates RVs throughout the year on paved pads, though some sites present leveling challenges. "Our site was easy to level," noted one visitor at Holiday RV Campground, which offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service from May through October. Pine Ridge RV Campground in Birch Run features pull-through sites with water, electric, and sewer hookups for big rigs, while Heartland Woods Family Resort in Stockbridge provides electric and water connections, but lacks sewer hookups at individual sites. Several campgrounds around Laingsburg have dump stations on-site, though extension cords may be required at certain locations where electrical posts serve multiple sites.

Seasonal availability varies significantly among area RV parks, with most operating from spring through fall. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, cell service is generally reliable at campgrounds in the region, with one camper reporting "Verizon WiFi coverage was good as was our TMobile" at a nearby state recreation area. Pet-friendly options are common, though pet policies differ between parks. Most campgrounds provide standard amenities like picnic tables, fire rings, and trash collection. Reservations are recommended during summer weekends and holiday periods when facilities often reach capacity. Lake access is available at several parks including Sleepy Hollow, which features fishing opportunities, though swimming conditions vary by location with some lakes described as "mucky" or having limited beach areas.

McGinnis Lake Modern Campground — Holly Recreation Area

The State of Michigan has dropped the ball…

No sewer or dumps is available at this campground (April 2022). You will have to dump elsewhere. If there was a memo I missed it. Made reservation in winter 2021. Had great Verizon and ok TMobile service. Site itself was easy to level and adequate for our big rig. It was one of 4 50 amp sites in the park. Nice large grassy site and the park was not very full.

    Frankenmuth Jellystone Park

Fun RV park and very close to downtown

Our site was averaged out to $82.71 a night with the weekly rate discount.

We were in Site# 306 (a deluxe plus RV site - be aware that some of these are back-ins and not clearly labeled on the site map - we had to change sites to a pull-thru). We had Full hook- up with a gravel pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.
The site was easy to level.

Our site was not shaded with zero trees. We weren’t able to sit outside because of the direct sun until after 8:30pm.
This was a smaller lot with our neighbors fairly close.

The deluxe plus lot comes without a concrete patio but with a picnic table and fire ring. They do sell firewood and will deliver to your site.

There is free WiFi. They do not offer Cable TV but there are quite a few channel options.

There is not a community outdoor kitchen or community fire pit.

They do not provide garbage service at your site so you must walk to garbage dumpster.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They also allow you to rent pedal bikes. They do not provide golf cart rentals.

They do have a heated indoor and heated outdoor Swimming pool and one hot tub.

There is a Playground. They also offer Gaga ball, basketball sport court, and volleyball courts. There is a Game room for kids. They have a Putt putt course and Jumping pad.

They have a great general store. There is a separate Activity Center for kids.
There are tons of scheduled activities for kids like wagon rides, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, etc. Activities are scheduled all day from 9am to 8pm.

There is a snack bar on site from 4pm-9:30pm where you can get hot dogs, brats, pretzels, nachos, ice cream, etc.

The streets are mostly paved and good for riding bikes.

This is an RV park with cabins to rent also. Tent camping is also allowed.

They have two shower houses. The shower house has the typical stalls. There is a great area to hang clothes and store your toiletries in the shower stall. These are kept very clean.

There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility, but they have a change machine in the arcade room. There are approximately 4washers and 4 dryers. It is approximately $2.75 to wash and $0.75 to dry a load.

They do not have a fenced in dog park. There are areas to walk dogs though.

Flies were an issue and bug spray was needed.

There were no trails to hike off of the campground.

Some fun things to do outside of the campground are Frankenmuth FunShips (chocolate & wine tasting), the Golden Ticket Trolley, the Bavarian Belle (popcorn & sodas) River Place Shops, wineries, and Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland store. This RV park is less than a mile to downtown/River Place Shops where there is tons of shopping.

    Holiday RV Campground

    Nice Park

Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot (22u, 20d, 38ms and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms). Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud.

Great campground with polite and helpful staff. Don’t pass this one up.

    Pine Ridge RV Campground

Lots of tall pines and hardwoods providing good cover

Nice pull through sites, some are tight, but none are impossible. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. There’s private land on either side and a dirt bike track that the neighbor owns on the north end, so if you’ve got a light afternoon napper, stay away from that end. Clean facilities, close to attractions and highway. Overall a good spot to stay

    Groveland Oaks County Park

    Kid friendly

This campground has a lake for swimming, water slide, arcade, boat rentals, mini golf, biking trails and fishing. Lots for kids to do... also skate park and 2 playgrounds. Full hookup area is away from most of the weekend traffic with a short cut to get to where all the kids stuff is located. I think it is a little pricier than most monthly rentals in southeast Michigan. We chose for the convenient location for spending the weekends. Our campsite was a little difficult to get into because it was on a curve and there was a seasonal camper with a Class A right across from our site which didn’t allow for a lot of space to maneuver our 26 ft travel trailer. It was, however, fairly close to the park and restrooms.

    Oaks Campgrounds

    Nice for the Night

Friendly staff. Camp store in office. Pull through full hook up site. Seemed to be more of a permanent campground but everyone was friendly. The campground hosted activities such as a potluck and dj dance party at the pavilion.

Bruin Lake Campground — Pinckney Recreation Area

    Bruin Lake Campground

Wonderful place even when it’s packed. Harder to get reservations over the years but always a great place to stay. Awesome bathrooms newly renovated. Nice spots. Mostly paved in the lower sites. Nice swimming area however no beach sand. Just a grassy area. Public boat launch on Bruin lake. Bruin lake connects to a few more lakes creating a nice chain of lakes. Half moon at the end of the chain is a great all sports lake. Awesome fishing. Sites have electric, no water. There is a dump station. Wood and ice available for purchase and a few vending machines. Nice hiking trails. They do have a few hike in yurts and hike in camping sites. Decent parking places for those hike ins.
