Description

Kleinke Park is located 13 miles north of Menominee on M35.

If you want a gorgeous view of the Bay this is the park for you. Swim in the Bay (no life guard on duty) and lay on the nice sandy beach. There is a carry on boat launch.

Camping can be on daily or seasonal sites. All sites are 50 amp service. A service building, sinks, flush toilets, and showers, and a dump station are on site.

Ice and Fire wood are normally available in park. A play ground for the kids and picnic area with a pavilion are next to the campground.

Camping at Kleinke Park is on a first come first serve basis on the merit system for daily camping. How this is done: Find a vacant place you'd like to camp. Be sure there is no sign posted with "seasonal" and/or dates on the site post (if there is a sign on the site post, someone has that place reserved for the specific dates listed and you can not stay there.) It may say seasonal on the site post. If that is the case, and there is no one in the site spot, you can not have that site. That camp site is taken for a seasonal lease. They may have a motor home that they use which would leave the site vacant occasionally, however they still paid for that site for the lease duration. You can't camp there. Please find another site. Pay at the Pay pole (in the envelopes provided) for the number of nights you'll be staying. Enjoy your stay.

So hospitable!!! Helped me catch my bird!!!

My duck flew off at my first stay and everyone from the Park Ranger to the locals helped me find her and catch her! Going back a second time this month to one of the prettiest campsites I have ever been to!

Great showers and playground, day camping areas abound.

Home away from home

We have camped here for the last two years. Rented lot 24 for the season in 2020 and then in 2021, we camped two weeks at a time on 4 occasions. Love the view. It’s usually quiet and full of friendly people.

Nice View

The campsite was nice and there was a lovely view of the bay. It was early June when I was there and could wade in the water a bit. The beach and view over the lake made this campground worth stopping in.

It was a little on the expensive side for only having one flush bathroom. The showers costed $1.00 for 8 minutes which was asking a lot for really stinky well water. The bathrooms were not particularly dirty, but the campground wasn't very busy so I imagine it gets pretty bad.

Amazing View of Green Bay

Kleinke Park was beautiful. It was rather windy during our stay, but overall the weather was great.

If you can swing the no reservations/first come first served, this is a great option. We stayed here and did a couple day trips further up the UP (Escanaba/Gladstone)

The showers are coin operated, $1 for 8 minutes.

Clean, easy access and right on the lake!

We pulled in after a long day of driving and without a reservation. Fortunate to be able to pull right in and had several easily navigable sites available. Flat, clean and easy to maneuver. Able to pay using an envelope. Nice facilities available as well and we had power available. Easily accessible waste dump and water. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Tranquil Waters and Tranquil Evening

Great place to set up a tent, or in our case, a pop-up camper for the night. It's hard to beat waking up next to serene Lake Michigan waves but it was definitely worth it. The park boasts a few nice amenities and has plenty of space for both the kids and the dogs to play in and explore. One minor downside is the proximity to the highway. Makes for a nice trip if you live nearby!

nice location

Drive in, select your site, put payment in envelope simple process to reserve a site at a nice campground! Brilliant sunrises over the lake.

Loved the location- near Menominee MI, took in some time around the town, before relaxing for a day on the nice Lake Michigan beach at the campground.  Water level is currently extremely high, but it was still a nice place :) Great stop for a day or 2 en route to more northern attractions.

One 'negative' that cannot be controlled: bay flies.  Happened to be there when the bay flies were thick! The flies do not seem to bite, just a nuisance.

*if you have a half hour check out the lighthouse in Menominee MI- didnt realize until we walked out to it that you can explore inside as well!

Beautiful!

Great view of Lake Michigan! Need to pay quarters for showers. Pretty clean bathrooms. Little privacy in sites but the view makes it worth it. Trees by the beach are great for a hammock. There is also a small playground and picnic area. Most of the sites right on the lake are reserved all season by RV trailers when I was there. I believe I was the only tent camper at the time but I would visit again.
