Spectacular bluffs, 8 miles of cobblestone shoreline, an 1868 lighthouse, scenic 18-hole golf course, outdoor summer theater, swimming beach, year-round naturalist programs, and diverse hiking and biking trails all make this park one of Wisconsin's mot popular camping destinations. Five family campgrounds (Nicolet Bay North and South, Tennison Bay, Welcker's and Weborg) and an outdoor group camp offer over 460 campsites. A centrally-located woodyard is available for campers to purchase firewood. All sites are within a 5-minute walk to the shoreline and only a short drive into the Door County communities of Fish Creek and Ephraim.

Beginning spring 2026, Peninsula State Park will begin a major renovation of the five flush restroom buildings in Tennison Campground. This work will take place from spring 2026 through spring 2027.To minimize impacts and keep as many facilities open as possible, construction will be completed in phases continuing spring 2027.**2026: April -November** Three bathroom buildings nearest campsites 226E, 312E and 425E will be closed for renovation.** **Campsites 222, 226, 333, 360, 425, 426, 427 and 477 will be closed and used as staging areas for these renovations.**2027: Remaining facility renovations (two buildings nearest campsites 322E and 476) are open for 2026 and estimated to be renovated in spring 2027.**
