Lovely campground

We stayed here for three nights. The kids loved the playground but missed a swimming pool.

Toilets en showers are dated but doable.

Sites have quite some privacy and are shaded. Campground is peaceful and d quiet

It has a very nice shop with sitting room and game room. Well maintained and staff is very friendly. We would definitely visit Shady Knoll again.

Best Spot on Cape Cod

We stayed 3 nights on site 58. Campground was super clean and well maintained.

They allow fires until 11pm.  It was very quiet and the staff were very helpful. We've already booked for next year! Can't wait to come back.

Where customer service and business sense go to die

EDIT: Astonishingly hostile, shrill, and unprofessional phone call received at 11:30am on 6/12. Owner/manager (?) called about "nasty" reviews and "slander" (note: nothing above is "slanderous"...just because someone doesn't like what you have to say about them, doesn't make it untrue).

Generally just confirmed my initial impression surrounding the lack of professionalism exhibited by this establishment. If they are willing to call someone up and, instead of try to address and rectify any misunderstanding are INSTEAD looking for a fight...clearly these folks are just a hot mess. DEFINITELY stay away.

Original review: "POLICY IS POLICY", even when it is detrimental to their business.

So unfortunate. I run an event that tries to support local businesses. We reserved and paid for 5 campsites one weekend, and referred a number of our vendor to this location as well.

Despite that, the campground would not hold reservations for the following weekend without full payment in advance. We asked them to hold it for three days and were told "policy is policy".

Also, apparently one of our campers taking their child to the comfort station in the rain, so they drove over. Apparently they had barely parked for a moment before somebody in a staff shirt came out berating them for parking there. At 2:00 a.m. Ridiculous. But again, apparently, "policy is policy", logic and business sense be damned.

Terrible way to treat a business looking to grow a relationship and not only paid for a number of sites, but directed campers there as well.

Well situated and established private campground on the Cape

My family of three recently stayed there for six nights (site 57). As many have already mentioned, the campground is quiet, especially after 10pm. Everything is well maintained and clean. Well situated within Brewster, with a great small grocery store a two minute walk from the campground entrance. Centrally located to the sites and ports along the Cape (about 45 min to Provincetown, 35 min to Woods Hole for MV ferry). Reasonably priced for the location and campground amenities. The owner’s adult daughter is your main poc, but all the staff are incredibly helpful and can recommend things to see while on the Cape.

The showers/bathrooms were always very clean. The showers offered plenty of hot water and water pressure (these aren’t your typ state park showers!). Laundromat available at both bathhouses. I might add super hot dryers, so $1 and 20 min will dry most things. $3 for a standard washing machine load.

Lots of sites to select from. Most seem relatively easy to get into, based on the rigs there. Sites are level and ground cover is either grass, gravel, or wood chips. Didn’t notice bare ground at the sites. Ample variety of hookups from water only to full service. Good cell service (AT&T); free Wi-Fi offered by campground but a little weak in the back area near 57.

Only gripes I had was the lack of vegetation screening between my site and others, but suggest calling the camp host to get recommendations for a site that offers better privacy. Also, and admittedly this may be the nature of sharing a campground with big rigs, people typically leave on their travel trailer/class A exterior floodlights/amber lights till late in the evening. With the limited vegetative screening, and the tiered campsites due to the campground’s topography, it was hard for us to enjoy a naturally dark campsite while trying to enjoy a campfire. As mentioned, alternative sites there may not have this issue so call the staff beforehand.

We’ll definitely be back to this great campground that has been in business for more than 50 years!

Best campsite in New England

We had a long weeknd celebration to attend at the start of the summer. We love camping so we thought this is perfect save some money and camp. We ended up at Shady knoll and we absolutely loved it. We had stayed at another campsite last year nearby. Not even close to this one in term of everything listed below. One of my favorite things about this campsite were the bathrooms! They were so clean and comfortable. Nice toilets. Really it matters!Showering rooms were separate. Beautiful shaded campsites with privacy you just can’t beat it when you’re a minute or two from the beach! The little camp store was fully stocked and our kids loved it. Such friendly people!! We spent a lot of time at Paynes Creek -the sunsets!!! Also a favorite the rail trail which was fabulous. We will absolutely be back

The desired site

They offer several kinds of sites with or without electricity, all have water. The sites also range in size depending on need.

The office staff is very nice and will set aside your packet if you're arriving after they close.

The sites are well maintained and have a bit of foliage separation.

Each site has a fire pit and picnic table.

They do have quite hours which is nice when you're tired.

Safe location with several beautiful parks, sites and establishments fairly close to enjoy.

Lovely campground

Lovely campground with good shade and layout. Privately owned and managed - staff very nice. Small camp store at registration office (with firewood) and a slightly larger small market store about a block away. We stayed in campsite 56 and it was lovely - level, clean and shaded. There is a shirt nature trailhead on Eddy Property at back of campground near campsites 98-100. It makes a loop including through shady areas and some beautiful public vegetable and flower gardens. It also connects to Lower Road. If you’re go left on Lower Road after the gardens you will walk about 1/4 mile and then get to the other Eddy Property. There’s another trailhead there and it takes you about half mile to some bluffs overlooking the bay abs Brewster Flats. Beautiful at sunset. Campground is also near the rail trail for biking. Nice place. We would return.

Small clean and friendly campground

Really nice little campground. My only complaint is that the sites are very close together but it is the Cape! Facilities and store are clean and nice. Great location, close to beach and bike trail.

Super quiet after 10pm

Very close campsites, made it impossible for me to eat chips at around 10:30pm without everyone hearing and some dogs barking

We reserved a group site right by the nature trail. Perfect for a large family and 7 min bike ride to two beaches

Great spot!

Sites are private. There’s a great walking trail connected to the campground. They have good access to the bay beaches and the Cape Cod Rail Trail- although you do have to drive ona busy road to get there.

Solid place to set up base camp

This was a very nice campground. Our particular site was a little on the small side, without much greenery to separate from the other sites but the weather was horrible so we spent most of our time inside playing games anyway. The restrooms and showers were very clean! The people who run this spot are nothing but friendly and helpful. There was a short but very nice nature trail within the grounds. There are also full hookups for those with RVs. The tent sites looked very nice and more private, but not sure about hookups in those spots.

There are many things to do close by- a lot of bay side beaches, coffee shops and a wonderful bike trail. Nickerson is right down the street as well which opens up a lot of recreation options.

Would totally recommend and would stay here again.

A great Cape Cod experience.

Nice tent sites. Near Nickerson State Park which is a must see by bike trail and to cool off after at a forest lake beach.

cute camping destination for the cape bound

I really like this campground. The sites were on the smaller side and closely packed but there was good foliage between sites to lend a little privacy. The bathrooms are very good. Private unisex showers were very clean and had great water pressure/temperature. I believe all sites are hooked up with water which is amazing to me and most have power.
