Small clean and friendly campground

Really nice little campground. My only complaint is that the sites are very close together but it is the Cape! Facilities and store are clean and nice. Great location, close to beach and bike trail.

So much to do within the park!

My family loved this campground. There’s swimming, fishing, boating, hiking and great mountain biking within the park. Sites were big and private. Some right on the water. My kids met some friends and had fun on the playground area. We also did a lot of fishing and caught a variety of fish.

Small and quiet. Beautiful area!

This is a pretty small State Park, so it fills up quickly. The sites on the pond are beautiful if you can get one! The campground has a small beach, boat launch and it's right on the Cross Vermont Trail. I stayed in October and it was really quiet and relaxing. There is absolutely no cell service for miles, so plan accordingly.

Small and quiet, many sites right on the pond

Cute little state park. Pretty tight along the left side of the pond. The right hand side is very quiet and more wooded. The pond itself is pretty shallow and has some weeds, but there is a deeper swimming area. Great for a little kayaking. Bath houses were very clean and updated. Not many rv, mostly tents and pop ups.

Peaceful and great location

Quiet and the pond is beautiful (although watch for leeches!) Great basecamp for visiting the Whites. Close to the highway, towns and tons of hiking. Mostly tent campers and many of the sites are first come, first serve. Overall very nice.

Large clean sites

The sites were nice and well spread out. Our stay was very quiet. Beach area was ok. I thought the river was kind of yucky but it didn't stop my kids from swimming. Good hiking nearby.

Family fun on the ocean and farm!

This campground was really beautiful. Sites were not very private, but the views and scenery are spectacular. My kids enjoyed visiting with the farm animals and walking along the rocky shore each day. Plenty to do between biking, kayaking, farm experience and visiting downtown Freeport close by.

Great location for hiking

Quiet and clean. Large sites. Bathroom and showers we also very clean. There was an interpretive ranger staying there that held a fun night of scores and spooky stories. Hiked the Arethusa Falls and Frankenstein Cliff Trail right from the campground!

Mostly RVs but nice sites along the river

Mostly seasonals and Rvs but there are some nice spots by the river. Most sites do not have much privacy, but the campground itself is very quiet and clean. Sites 66 & 55 seemed to be the most private. There's nice little swimming area on the river for kids. Close to the Sugar River Rail trail for biking. Definitely not a wilderness experience, but pleasant.

Perfect little campground

I love this little campground. A great basecamp for many hikes in Evans Notch. All the sites are large, flat and the ones on the outer perimeter are vey private as they abut the woods. The fireplaces have a cool double decker grill for cooking. It was very quiet as most people are there to hike and fish. I'm definitely planning another trip back. Sites 9-10 had a little trail down to the pond.

The type of place families return to for generations

My family and friends have been going for years. Such a fun, laid back, rustic camping experience. Stay for a week and unplug on the beaches. Swimming, biking, hiking and boating…and so much fun for kids.

Secluded and quiet

Nice place to get away from it all. Very wooded and private sites. Many have lean-tos and brick ovens.

Mix of nice tent sites and an RV area

I stayed right on the river in site 14 with a small popup. The river is beautiful and the site was huge. We did some fishing and swimming. I get the feeling the other end of the campground with the RVs is not as nice and can be loud, but you can avoid it by staying on the tent side.

Quiet family-friendly campground

Cute little campground with many sites right on the river. My family has stayed here twice. You can't really swim much in the river, but the kids had a blast playing in it and fishing for little trout.
