Most pet-friendly campgrounds in this region maintain standard leash policies and request that owners clean up after their animals. Sutton Falls Camping Area offers waterfront pet camping with access to Aldrich Mill Pond, ideal for families who enjoy bringing their dogs on camping trips. The pet-friendly sites at these campgrounds typically include picnic tables and fire rings, with clean facilities nearby for human comfort while pets enjoy the outdoor setting.

Douglas State Forest provides access to miles of pet-friendly hiking trails adjacent to several campgrounds in the Westborough area. Many seasonal campers bring their pets for extended stays at Kings Campground, which maintains its grounds meticulously with upgraded electrical and sewer systems. At Purgatory Valley Farm, dogs can explore the working farm environment alongside their owners during camping stays. Pet owners should note that while swimming areas are available at many locations, some have separate designated swimming areas for pets versus humans. Despite allowing pets, George Washington State Campground in nearby Rhode Island enforces strict quiet hours that apply to barking dogs as well as human noise. Most campgrounds require proof of current vaccinations for dogs, and campers should always carry extra waste bags since dedicated pet waste stations are limited at some of the more rustic sites.

      Wilderness Lake Park

      Really enjoyed our time here

Quaint little campground. Not many tenting sites but along a beautiful lake. Pets allowed. Bathrooms close by 10, something to keep in mind. And they’re cash or check only! Taylor Pond is not far and a great hike to bring both kids and pets. This campground was perfect for us and our dog. Bring your own kayaks or use the campgrounds free of charge.

      Wompatuck State Park Campground

Great spot with Plenty of History

We chose this spot for a family weekend. Sites are spacious. Water from nearby facet. Because it was local and had history behind it. Rhe campground is within a state park and is built on a old military base. You can still see some bunkers with their vents all around the campground. Blue Mountain spring water can be found right near campground for some refreshing water. We brought our chow chows and their was a great harbor side dog park a short drive away along with some swimming. I would visit again.

      Normandy Farms Campground

This is what Glamping was made for

First things first- no bugs!! That’s right I didn’t know what I was missing till I notice I wasn’t getting bit alive by mosquitoes!!! They spray for them!!! So you can enjoy the outside without the pesky bites that come with camping!

Then of course there is the luxury of having two pools, a ton of fun activities for kids, (fishing , dog park, horseshoes, tennis, basketball, etc)! It’s probably my favorite spot in New England merely for all the luxuries that come with this site!!!

Plus you are close to Gillette and shopping!! Can get better then that!

      Normandy Farms Campground

      A great place to stay!

I’ve been coming here with my family for years and it’s always a great time. Very clean camp sites, bathrooms and showers, roads, and playgrounds...all public areas are immaculate. Lots of activities for kids, teens, and adults. Great dog park. Sites are large and level and free from low hanging branches. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Normandy Farms Campground. You won’t be disappointed.

      Boston/Cape Cod KOA

      Not our favorite KOA

The sites are pretty close and some are not level. It seems that many sites have more than one vehicle at them, making it more congested. The Highlands area is much quieter. Decent dog park & common play areas (horseshoes, ladder ball, cornhole, basketball). Lots for kids to do. We went to Plimoth Plantation about 20 min away but not much else in the area. Management & employees are friendly & helpful.

      Normandy Farms Campground

      A true 5 star campground!

There is NOTHING you could want and not have at this campground/RV resort!  The family that runs it are at it 24/7 so you have the time of your life.  Many pools and one is adults only, there are all kinds of activities every weekend day.  Ball field, dog park, it has every thing including smiles!!  I actually store my rig here so I see the cleanliness of this park and the care that goes out to all campers!!

      Pine Acres Family Camping Resort

Great spot in the middle of nowhere

Miles and miles of country/forests surrounding pine acres, however pulling in you’ll soon realize how much goes on inside the campground. AWESOME pools (very kid friendly), parks, dog park, hiking trails and even sections off of the trails to find your own private beach on the water. Went there in a tent rather than our camper, which turned out to be better. Tent sites were very dispersed and way up on the top of the mountain. Camper sites seemed a little close but worth the sacrifice due to the incredible environment. On the more expensive side but worth the money if you have kids. Another big plus was the abundance of wood to get from fallen trees (not having to pay for the expensive bundles at the store) and the size of the fire pits

      Spacious Skies Minute Man

      Great PLace to Stay

My family and I stayed at this campground overnight on the way to and from Acadia. The staff was very nice to deal with. The sites were ample size and space for our rig and needs. The pool looked very nice, and the rec room was impressive, with games and movies for campers to enjoy. The campstore was very nice and even had a video library that campers could sign out movies to watch free of charge ( their selection was pretty impressive). There was bocce, horshoes and volley ball courts that were well maintained and had the needed equipment so that anyone interested could play. The dog park was nice as well.  The campground is close to many restaurants and gas stations also. Cell service with AT&T and T-Mobile was great.

The region experiences four distinct seasons with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters that influence camping conditions throughout the year. Several campgrounds within a 30-mile radius provide access to the area's woodlands, lakes, and hiking trails.

    What to do

Explore nearby hiking trails: Douglas State Forest offers extensive hiking opportunities near Sutton Falls Camping Area. "There is a nice beach for children. The water was warm and clean. You can kayak or canoe. The dogs cannot go on the beach, but they can go in the boats," notes Jessica W.

Visit historical attractions: The Westborough area provides access to numerous historical sites. "The White Mountains, New Hemisphere, is a must, worth the short drive especially if you can go in early October, when the leaves are changing. Fishing opportunities: Many campgrounds near Westborough offer fishing in stocked ponds. At Circle Campground Farm, "Nice little fishing pond on site, nice clean bathhouses and pool," according to Chris S., making it a convenient option for anglers who prefer not to travel far from their campsite.

    What campers like

Modern bathroom facilities: Campgrounds near Westborough have invested in updated facilities. As Ryan C. notes about Wells State Park, "beautiful park! yes you will hear the road so plan accordingly and not all sites are level. The best plus aide ever....NEW HUGE bathrooms!!"

Access to swimming: Swimming options are abundant at pet-friendly campgrounds near Westborough. "We stayed here for a few nights when they celebrated Halloween 🎃. It is super easy to get around. They had tons of festive activities. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool. The restrooms are clean," reports Liz W. about Normandy Farms Campground.

Well-maintained grounds: Campground upkeep is consistently mentioned in reviews. "Owner does an amazing job at keeping this campground looking it's best. Many major upgrades within the past couple of years. Electric has been revamped, sewer has been upgraded to accommodate full service hook-up to each site," Jess P. says about Kings Campground.

    What you should know

Seasonal variations: Weather impacts camping experiences significantly in this region. Seasonal site options: Many RVers prefer extended stays at certain campgrounds. "Clean sites and facilities. Staff was very helpful. Sites are a bit on the smaller side and not very private.
