    Mill Creek RV Resort

Little RV Nature Respite Surrounded by Concrete Jungle

I have to admit, when I first discovered Mill Creek RV Resort on our smartphone’s GPS, I had nothing but low expectations and when navigating to get to this seemingly RV road stand, all of the traffic and commercial real estate surrounding this place was just begging me to turn around and hightail it out of here. That was, until we decided to check out this RV parking spot. And we were somewhat pleasantly surprised by what we found. While easily not a destination, if your aim is to simply find comfortable, affordable and safe accommodations to roll up your mobile living room for the night, then (especially for the price), you won’t be disappointed.

To begin with, the community and neighbors you will meet are incredibly welcoming and the owners / management couldn’t be more hospitable. This place on the one hand has a small neighborhood feel (because it is partly carved out of a residential area) and on the other, feels like a semi-decent nature preserve where RV’s aren’t jam packed next to one another. Sure, it’s tight in a few places, but all-in-all, one feels safe and secure here and offered a number of pretty great and new amenities. And if you don’t have an RV, no worries, the good folks at Mill Creek RV Resort will rent you one of their newly built park models.

Mill Creek RV Resort offers a number of amenities, including: complete RV hook-ups (20 / 30 / 50 electric amp, water and sewage lines) with pull-through and back-in flat concrete slab sites, picnic tables, heated in-ground pool complete with lounge chairs and umbrellas, recreation hall with ping pong tables, coin-operated laundry facilities, very clean restroom and shower facilities, kid’s playground w/ slide, doggie park (one for small and another for large), mail center, cable TV access, free WiFi access (near the office only though) as well as indoor and outdoor games (e.g. horse shoes, shuffle board, corn hole), propane refill station, LP gas, cable TV access and even sheds for extra storage.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a handful: (1) This location puts you within short driving distance to Walt Disney World, Universal, Seaworld and a bunch of other family-friendly entertainment options; (2) When you get tired of paying for overpriced amusement park food or can’t muster enough strength to plan your next meal from the confines of what might be available in your RV fridge, then venture out to one of these nearby eateries: Coqui Snacks, Sol de Borinquen Bakery Restaurant & Deli or Dolce Bakery and Café; and (3) If you brought a kayak or canoe, I highly recommend launching in nearby Kissimmee Lakefront Park, where if you go to the far eastern side, you can cast a line and catch some pretty good fish.

    Happy Camping!

Orange City RV Resort, A Sun RV Resort

    More City Than Campground

What’s in a city, you ask? I would think organization, solid utilities, an infrastructure, stated rules and a semblance of community. If that’s the definition, then I guess Orange City RV Resort lives up to that moniker. As soon as you turn into this RV enclave, located just a stone’s throw from the major I4 highway, just due north of Orlando, this place will immediately impress you with it’s very organized and structured way that it lays out its design, from grid-like, well-paved streets and well-lit infrastructure to the outsized number of amenities you will discover here. If ease of access and turn-key entrance is on your check-list than OC RV has you covered.

Back to those amenities – here you’ll discover some fairly premier RV resort living plus-ups from a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, state-of-the-art work-out facility, multi-purpose community center (complete with fully operational kitchen), onsite laundry, shower and restroom facilities, doggie park, recreation hall (bingo, billiards tables, game room, card tables, etc.), dedicated mail center, private small pond (catch& release only), a handful of picnic pavilions, BBQ grills, traditional RV hook-ups (electric, water and sewage) plenty of games such as bocce ball, horse shoes, petanque and, of course (in Florida, the prerequisite) shuffleboard. This place is pet-friendly and while I thought it was more of a retiree community, there were plenty of kids playing around the nice little park that they have.

OC RV Resort offers up a number of different types of sites to choose from between standard, premium and ‘super sites’ – as you can imagine, ranked by size as well as position within the resort. Of course, the more modest size comes with less land, compromised vistas and places you in very close proximity to neighbors. In addition to open back-in and pull-through RV sites and slots, you will discover that there are also a number of 1BR cottages and newly constructed mini-homes available for lease.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) The biggest tip I can give you is that literally only a 10 minute drive due west, you’ll hit arguably one of the best natural springs in all of Florida – Blue Spring State Park. And while there’s a small fee to get in, trust me, it’s worth it!; (2) To my fellow tent campers, if you’re reading this, my apologies, because OC RV Resort doesn’t offer up any spots to pitch your shelter for the night. That said, Blue Spring SP has some pretty awesome campsites that I would absolutely recommend, and if you want tent camping paradise, then just a bit further afield is Trimble Park Campground, arguably, some of the best tent camping in the entire state – for more details, you can read my reviews on both of these campgrounds on The Dyrt; and (3) As you would guess being located this close to Highway 4, you’ll come across all the usual franchise restaurant chains (Chili’s, Tijuana Flats, Perkins, Applebee’s, etc.), but if you’re looking for a nice meal, check out Riverwalk Pizzeria for some pretty great pies and fresh suds.

    Happy Camping!

Well organized campground at good rate

We booked last minute in January for an overnight stay with a 25ft RV. They were able to accommodate us. Majority of guests are here for long term. They all made us newbies feel very welcome. Paid 55$ for full hook-up. Poor wifi reception.

Ranger Review: Umara Z-Trail Shoes by Xero @ Sunshine Travel RV Resort

Campground Review: Sunshine Travel RV Resort is an encore/thousand trails campground. The grounds are very well maintained with lots of amenities like pool, horseshoe, shuffleboard, Mini gold course, clubhouse with restrooms and an attached laundry facility. Since we were there for a soccer tournament, it was nice to have a place to wash the stinky uniforms in between games. We never saw any staff because the office is closed on weekends which posed a small problem when we had an issue in the laundry room. Other than that, it was a nice reasonably priced place to stay with a variety of campers, permanent residents and cabins for rent. Gear review: I wore my Xero Umara Z-trail shoes all weekend. It is my second pair to receive and I love them. So comfortable you hardly know they are there. No rub areas or hot spots from long use. I have worn them in a kayak, riverbed, soccer field, running track and just around the house. Highly recommend giving them a try!

Top 20 RV Parks for us!

Lots of long term RVers and very few sites for Thousand Trails Members. Very close to Cocoa Beach!

We enjoy this park a lot because it has so much to offer nearby, They have narrow spots but great landscaping. There are some permanent structures, mostly rentals and some that seem to be owned. You will get to feel and hear rocket launches from Cape Canaveral.

This park has easy access to the highway. Approximately 30 minutes from Cocoa Beach, and Cape Canaveral.

They didn’t seem to have sections that were very different from one another.

Cell signals: Decent cell service for T-Mobile and AT&T

They have: A Pool 1 Hot Tub Shuffle Board Club House Mail Room Camp Store A small pond Alligators Laundry Several Fountains Friday Flea Market/Swap Meets Lots of clubhouse activities Community Board Hair Salon

The park is clean, quiet, safe, and near attractions we love.

    Indian River Village RV

    Waterfront Spot on Lighthouse Cove

You’ll discover Indian River Village RV just off US1 in Oak Hill on a scant-trafficked little lane that runs perpendicular to the Intracoastal Waterway. This shade-less, pebble-strewn RV resting post packs in quite a bit, offering WiFi, laundry facilities, shower/ bathroom (which are problematically locked 24 hours a day), picnic tables and BBQ’s, boat ramp and slips in addition to all the traditional RV hook ups (30 / 50 electric amps, sewage, water).

The real bonus to this place is its location and relative solitude (although you will find that proximity to your neighbors leaves a little to be desired). There’s no end to all of the amazing fishing spots that abound here, as well as simply fantastic access to the Intracoastal whether via kayak, canoe or boat. And if you’ve forgotten a pole, netting or fishing gear, the good folks at Indian River Village RV have lots of spare items and parts to lend you if in need. Nearby there’s even a park – Nancy Cummings Children’s Park – for the kiddos.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) Bring your mosquito repellent because, well, you’re right near the Mosquito Lagoon and they didn’t name it that because there weren’t any mosquitos around!; (2) If you can, try to visit during the months of June through October where in Mosquito Lagoon, Banana River and Indian river, the water comes to life with bioluminescence – it’s quite a site to see (as well as to swim in at night, but just be aware of the gators) with glittering dinoflagellates and pulsing Comb Jellies can be seen everywhere as they illuminate the otherwise dark waters; and (3) Don’t miss out visiting Goodrich Seafood & Oyster House, which is a bit of a local legend and has been around for nearly a hundred years, as they fry, boil, grill and sauté some of the best seafood around that you’ll be grateful to bite into.

    Happy Camping!

Meh. Lots of full-timers but close to Disneyworld

We're members of Thousand Trails but we had to pay extra to stay here.  It was a place to stay, nothing special.  If you are there in the winter, the pool was cold and closes early.  It is basically a place to stay and not very scenic.  There are a lot of full-timers with their 'stuff.'  The people in the site next to us had an outdoor shed with tons of junk everywhere.  The park was close to Disneyworld and we dropped about $400 on a day at Epcot and had to drink our way through all the countries to make it worth our time since many of the attractions/rides were closed.  I had fond memories of times at Disneyworld in the past with my kids but now, it feels like an artificial money suck.  If you are in the area, I would recommend one of the other RV parks that has more to offer.

    Twelve Oaks RV Resort

Rude staff, not for short term stays.

This park has unorganized roads and is difficult to navigate. The checkin office was unfriendly and did not provide a map of the park or sites, we had to use satellite view on google maps to find our way. My husband and I travel in our 37 foot motorhome with car in tow. Upon arrival we unhooked the tow and I prepared to drive in front of our motorhome to the site and survey it before guiding our motorhome in. The escort talked down to me (I'm female, mid forties) and shouted that my husband is only to listen to him when pulling in to the site and I'm not allowed to say anything. If it hadn't been a peak weekend we would have left to go elsewhere.

This park caters to long term permanent residents.

We had full hookups (water/sewer/electric) and raised picnic table.

Camelot RV Park is a 55yr plus camp ground. Its quiet and relaxed. They have everything, amenities wise. The lots are immaculate with full hook-ups and a patio with a picnic table. There is a heated pool and fishing on the river. There is a recreation hall with a kitchen as well. The bathrooms and showers are very nice. I would recommend Camelot to anyone for an enjoyable, relaxing place to camp.

We booked this to be in Orlando for a family event. The campground is fine. Lots of long term or permanent residents. Bathrooms are well maintained & in decent condition. Has a pool. The grounds were fine. Nothing special but at the price for 2 nights, it was good. Full hookups & site was concrete. Would use this for a short term stay again.

Pretty Landscaping, Very Active RV Park

Good RV Park near Disney and it is a very pretty, lush, tropical park. Old town Kissimmee is right next door, and it has several loud amusement rides. This is definitely an active RV Park, lots of people out enjoying all of the activities. Spaces are tight and roads are narrow and lots of curves and curbs. The only bummer we noticed was the dumpster area in the middle of the park would get hot and it would stink pretty bad, Florida is breezy and it was pretty unpleasant.

They have golf cart rental, thought that was pretty cool.

They have a gate guard shack thing and lots of staff members. They have dark green polos ride around on golf carts. They were very friendly and they have many planned activities for guests and residents.

They have a few sections: -The premium spots on the south side of the park were the nicest with the most space. -Thousand Trails section is on the West side and they do not have sewer (they said they are working on this in 2020)

Lots of built in units for rental, some streets are narrow and challenging to navigate. Many spots did not have sewer, but they had free pump outs every Wednesday and a dump station. They will be fixing this during 2020- per management.

Cell signals: Decent cellular service for AT&T and Very good T-Mobile service.

They have: Pool Cafe/Bar 1 Hot Tub Mini Golf Volleyball Courts Shuffle Board Club House Mail Room Camp Store Basketball Laundry Shower Houses Kids play room and play area Gym Pool Tables Creek running through the middle

Boggy Creek Resort & RV Park

    Nice quiet campground s

Boggy Creek RV Resort and Fish Camp Review

Boggy Creek RV Resort and Fish Camp Is located in Kissimmee, Florida on the edge of East Lake Tohopekaliga. We stayed there for a month from the middle of June to the middle of July in 2021.

As new RV'ers, this was our first attempt at reserving and staying somewhere in our new Apex 293 RLDS Travel Trailer. The staff was very accommodating when my wife first contacted them by phone and offered a "pull-through" site for an extra $100, but being the cheapskate that I am I opted to stick with a "back-in" site (I've got to learn to do it at some point, right?).

When we arrived we checked in at the office/gift shop/small grocery store and both the ladies there at the desk were very courteous and helpful. They had one of their staff, a fine gentleman named Rego, escort us to the site and he spent 45 minutes helping me to back in. I should mention that the site was nestled between two trees, some kind of metal post sticking up about 5 feet from the ground, and the vehicle of our next door neighbors, so in addition to my inexperience we had to maneuver around all those obstacles. I got it backed in without touching ANY of them! As he left us, Rego urged me to call anytime we needed anything.

There are more than 200 sites in the park, but a lot of them are year-round residents. That still leaves roughly half of the sites for guests and the park looked to be about three-fourths filled to my untrained eye. They come with 50amp shore power, water, and sewer connections, as well as concrete pads and picnic tables.

I was born in, and grew up in, Florida so my first impression of Boggy Creek RV Resort and Fish Camp is that it is very much like "Old Florida" with towering Oak trees covered in hanging Spanish Moss, Scrub Pines, and even Palm trees. This is not a manicured RV park, though the grounds are well kept by the staff, where the sites are laid out like cookie-cutters in a parking lot. The abundance of trees provide a very nice amount of shade around the park and, even in the Summer heat and swelter of Florida, made the temperature bearable with our little 13,500 BTU rooftop air conditioner. East Lake Tohopekaliga is also large enough that it provides a nice, cooling breeze during the day.

The park advertises a pool and restaurant, but both were shut down during COVID-19 restrictions and have not yet re-opened. They hope to have the pool up and running as soon as they can break through the supply-chain issues that have plagued the industry. We did not ask about the restaurant, but I imagine the same issues apply.

There is an abundance of wildlife including Sand Hill Cranes (which serenaded us every morning and barked their unhappiness when we walked near them during our daily treks around the park), Peacocks (which was an unexpected sight, but very enjoyable), Herons, Tortoises, and Alligators. So if you're looking for a sterile environment, this might not be the place for you. If you're a boater or fisherman, there is a dock for fishing off of and a boat ramp for putting your watercraft into the lake.

Our month long stay was enjoyable because of the staff, the flora and fauna, and the slow, laid back atmosphere. We would highly recommend Boggy Creek RV Resort and Fish Camp for those who are seeking the same.

Lucky Clover RV & Mobile Home Park

    Convenient park for long-term stays

My partner and I were looking for a snow-bird location for the winter in the Melbourne area and came across this park. We read the old reviews and wanted to make sure we left a more up-to-date review for others.

So here's the deal... There aren't many RV parks in the area(at least near where we wanted to be) so options were slim. We spoke with Sue, the absolutely outstanding property manager, and decided to give the park a try. It is important to note, the park is under new ownership/management(Parakeet Communities- parakeetcommunities-dot-com/community/lucky-clover/). The new management has worked*extremely* hard to clean up and revitalize the park so please try to ignore some of the older reviews.

This park is definitely not for overnight or even weekly stays. This is a long-term mobile home and RV community with individuals who either live here full-time or for at least several(6+) months at a time. Navigating the inside roads with a big-rig is only possible with the help of the on-site property maintenance person, Jason, who is also amazingly friendly and helpful. The spaces are close together but even with our 43' fifth wheel, we were able to back-in to our space easily enough.

We have found all residents in the park to be extremely friendly, polite, and all live with a tremendous sense of community pride in the park. Our immediate neighbors walked over and introduced themselves the first day we moved in, which was so delightful and welcoming. We know our neighbor's names and feel very welcomed and safe in this park.

< 6 month rates are$1,400/mo and>6 month rates are around$1,100(or thereabouts). Rent includes electricity, water, sewer, and trash. There is a laundry building with washers/dryers but we have not used them. The park is in a prime location near shopping, groceries, restaurants, and is walking distance to the beach. There is also a well-kept swimming pool on property however, we have not had a chance to take a dip; It looks nice enough though. Cellular service is decent in the park however, if you will be here long-term, it would be best to purchase Internet service through Spectrum for$50/mo. All sites have Spectrum cable hookups but you will need to purchase your own TV/Internet service.

    Blue Spring State Park, FL

Stayed in the middle of the week. Sadly this site does cost a bit of money ($34 when I went). RV hookups, electricity, showers and bathrooms all easily accessible. Swimming only in the designated areas of the spring with chances to see tons of wildlife, the water is crystal clear and beautiful. There is also a decent nature walk nearby as well.

    Great Oak RV Resort

The Shade's All Good @ Great Oak RV

Is there a Great Oak here? Yeah, definitely. Is this an RV Resort? Maybe. When I think of a ‘resort,’ I think of a few things: community pool, free-flowing bar serving cocktails with little umbrellas in them along with a few other things like tiki lanterns, shuffleboard, lineup of events and most importantly, a convivial welcoming feel from the surrounding community. On this latter front, Great Oak RV Resort does not live up to its name. But if you can get past this and are simply looking for a decent place to park your 5th wheel for the night very near Orlando, then this place isn’t the worst place you could book your stay for the night.

What I appreciated most about Great Oak RV Resort is just how ‘At Home’ everyone here – from the management (Jovan and Begie are some of the kindest, most welcoming hosts ever!) to the next-door neighbors you are assigned – make you feel comfortable with their welcoming approach. From a pet-friendly environ where you’ll encounter no shortage of folks walking their dogs or inviting you in to pet their cats to the way in which those residents are here for a longer haul than the typical passerby looking for a place to plant their RV for the night, everyone we encountered was hospitable in a very authentic way.

From an amenities standpoint, there’s a decent offering: 30 / 50 amp electrical, water and sewage hook-ups, heated large community swimming pool, 24 / 7 laundry facilities, recreational hall complete with daily (and nightly) events including bingo, card-playing and a small lender library, well-maintained bath houses and restroom facilities, designated garbage disposal and plenty of activities including shuffleboard, horse shoes and an easy to manage well-paved pathway perfect for long walks or short bike rides. Did I mention that this place is incredibly affordable? While we looked at no fewer than a dozen RV sites, this place was definitely the most economical.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a few: (1) Once you get tired of foraging through your cooler or mini onboard refrigerator, and you wanna check something local and love all things ‘South of the Border’ then check out one of two great Mexican joints: Tortilleria La Mexicana #10 for outstanding fajitas or Taqueria Casas for some, well, great street tacos!; (2) If you come hauling your own watercraft (kayak, canoe, waterbike, etc.) then definitely head on over to the lower half of Lake Tohopekaliga where there’s some seriously amazing little bends to careen around as well as some very awesome fishing holes, particularly for Bass; (3) Check out Lake Toho Fish Camp, which is another place you might be interested in setting up for the night if Great Oak RV Resort is fully-booked, plus they offer a boat slip along with bait & tackle shop; and (4) Looking for some 80’s nostalgia? If so, then check out either AMF Kissimmee Lanes or nearby Skate Reflections for some disco-ball inspired Rollerink coasting!

    Happy Camping!

    Manatee Hammock Campground

    Okay for short term

This campground is right on the river, and has both RV and tent camping sites. The lanes are rather narrow, and it’s all one way, so depending where you’re at, you may end up circling the whole campground just to take your trash out.

We were there in late spring/early summer for a month, and it was okay. They do allow long term tent campers, so you’ll see lots of tents with huge tarps over them.

This campground fills up on the weekends, so it’s busier, more crowded, and a little loud.

I would probably not recommend this for long term, but it is one of the most reasonably priced campgrounds (that aren’t 55+) in the area.

    Not Fancy But Nice

Nice campground, friendly staff. Can’t speak to price because we’re Thousand Trails members and it’s included in our plan. Not sure where the information that they don’t allow dogs came from, as practically everyone there has a dog or two. Nice pool, well kept mini golf, and convenient to shopping and entertainment, including Disney, Sea World, and Universal. Nice bike path so you can get to shopping and restaurants by bicycle if you want. Decent amount of room between spaces, and many spaces have concrete patios - some have paved parking for rigs.

    A weekend trip

For a quick stop it was fine. There are seasonal RV’ers, daily RV’ers, and long term dwellings. Not many trees for shade, but there was a dog walk. The staff was friendly and it was easily accessible from I-4, so it had that going for it. All in all, I wouldn’t stay for more than a day or two.

Probably the worst I’ve been to.

We only started one night, thank god bc we would have left early. Long term residents made it not so private and made us quite uncomfortable for our family about d the campground and pool. Cabin faced the long term residents as well and was right in front of the dump station. Just uncomfortable feeling. I am so thankful that we decided not to tent, we would have never slept with the speeding, loud trucks on the highway. We could hear all of it through the walls of the cabin. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else 😬😬😬😬 Front desk woman was the only thing that was nice.

    Gold Rock Campground

    Pleasant spot. No frills

There are two sides to the park what they call the overflow, where I stayed in two separate days for two weeks apiece. They also have the other side which is like a normal RV park. So I'm going to tell you about the overflow area. You have full hookups the spots are giant. The space is completely surrounded by trees, so when you pull in you feel like you're way off the grid, but when you pull out of the park you're right in the middle of stuff. There's a Publix practically walking distance there's a Wawa right around the corner. And the ocean is 15 minutes away. And the rates are awesome. And on top of it, Carla the manager is really awesome. I totally recommend this RV park.

    Very close neighbors

This is not our favorite way to RV, but sometimes it’s all about location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The permanent residents were very nice. We just like to have a little more space and nature around us. Our favorite day trip was Blue Springs State Park. Awesome boardwalk and viewing stations into the crystal clear water with tons of fish, birds and of course manatees. Nice gift shop, etc. But back to the RV park. We enjoyed biking around the park and full hookups with free cable.

Seasons In The Sun RV Resort

    Too much sun

When they say “in the sun”, they mean it! This is a 55+ RV “Resort”! Not much shade anywhere. But, if you stay in you 50 ft. Class A I suppose shade isn’t needed. The park has 2 pools one is a lap pool with lanes. and there are 2 hot tubs. There are pickleball courts, shuffleboard, and bocce ball. There is a Propane fill station. There is a community center with planned activities and special events. The sites are all concrete, in the sun! That may be OK in winter. On the plus side, it’s only 30 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center.

    Beach paradise

Have stayed both with full hook ups and with only water/electric. Beware some sites might be too close together. Love that the beach is only steps away. White sand, beautiful!1 Nice Jetty and multiple restaurants close by. Staff very friendly. Bathrooms are ok. One of my favorite campgrounds.
