Best Campgrounds near Lake George, CO

Easy spot to hit that is slightly more off the road than a lot of the other roadside spots along the road. Plenty of solid spots all up and down there in general.

This area is great! There are a lot of sites to choose from and some that are super open. Some within the trees where I stayed. There are many sites with beautiful views and comfortable space. Fire rings at all sites and not much traffic. I slept great here and was very comfortable. Will definitely camp here again

Campsites were nice and well established but pretty close to one another. Campsites 2/3/4 are all pretty close to each-other and you can hear the other sites. It’s a 0.5 mile hike in to the campsite, so plan and pack accordingly. Campsites are along a road (private access only). There was a trash can at the campground which was nice. Also bear boxes. A signed noted moose sightings.

Be careful on your drive in because there’s huge rats in the road to start with. It gets a little better the further back you go. The sites are spacious and a good distance apart from each other. It’s quiet but very dusty. There’s no trash bins or toilets. Otherwise a great campsite.

We were meeting up with friends in Salida on our way to Steamboat & needed an easy spot for the night. This was the perfect place. Campsites are neat, small place, and beautiful views. Free BLM site.

Great views, spots are relatively spaced out so you don’t have any immediate neighbors. Had four bars of 5G with T-mobile in my spot

There are a ton of different sites on this road and I'm glad I scored a site at the top. The view is pretty rad and it's a quiet location. Some traffic comes through but nothing obnoxious and loud. Definitely some evidence of past parties and some broken glass but nothing extreme. Sites are clean other than that.

We camped here a few times. The spot closest to the mining town has been my favorite so far! It is in a canyon so you won't have any cell phone signal, though I had my Starlink set up and it worked flawlessly.

We will go back, and I hope to get that spot before any other!

It is a bumpy road, but we had an F150 and a Santa Fe, that both made it in fine, though some spots are walking only.

The history is awesome, the drive is beautiful, and there is a creek that runs along close by at every site.

It's a great place for dispersed camping. Each campsight has lots of space between each other.

This is not a camping vacation destination. It is a good place to stay if you’re visiting family or temporarily working in the Colorado Springs area. It is a parking lot with full hookups (heated water spigots). A lot of rules about not keeping a trashy site but there are trashy sites. Gated entry and exit (fob or keypad to enter). Two dog runs. NO SMOKING on the property. Sites are close together. We stayed 40 days visiting family so all the negatives were not a big deal with us as we only slept here.

Several sites, not sure how many. First come. The views from some of Mt.Princeton are amazing. I drove my van up no problem but bigger RVs may be challenging.

The views, the cleanliness, the people, OHV's, and the calm all 5 stars 🌟 The lack of overnight is what made this 4stars

We loved this little campground. It was only about 3/4 full on a weekend September. Mix of tents and teardrops, very quiet and sites felt private. The host was very helpful.

There are FF and reservation sites available. If you plan to pay on site be sure to have a tap to pay Credit card, there is no drop box only a CC machine. Plenty of reservation sites for rigs and maybe 4 FF sites that can fit a trailer. No water or trash though, little pricey for 20$

We pull a 24’ trailer and had plenty of room. The site are big and plenty of space between sites. Good views but no snow. We will revisit here because it is free for 14 days and this place is clean. They manage it very well.

Beautiful spot. Good if you’re near BV or Salida. Road in is rough to start then fine. Had big horn sheep in the campground when we pulled in. Fire pits and picnic tables. Would give it 5 stars if there was a toilet.

My group took three sites and 3 tents and everyone enjoyed their stay. It was our first time and definitely will not be our last
