TravelerThis is a very clean spot with multiple amenities. They even have an exercise room, grill area, dog area, nice covered patio areas for chillin’ 😀 We will definitely stay here again. The attendees are very helpful and checking in was made quite dummy proof. The staff are great!👍🏽
ScoutThe main site at the bend was taken, but the small road that cuts east right before the main campsite offers two more established sites. We chose the first one and it was a nice evening.
Guidecampsites are w electric and water and sewer hookup. also a dump station. picnic table and firepit. lots of room for big rigs. nice showers/toilets and a big sink outside to do dishes. short drive to NP. pass on restaurant.
TravelerI haven’t been camping in a LONGGG time…this was my first trip since a kiddo. What an amazing experience. Each spot had a tent pad, fire pit with grill and picnic table…amazing views, rest room was well kept and clean. Seemed like the are was best for tent camping or a small trailer because of the accessibility issue. Would definitely come back!

My trailer was home-built and uninsured...
A witness told me the black SXS had landed on top of my trailer, and they had to right mine to remove their vehicle. Then they quickly packed up and left without a note…
A witness reported the black SXS had red and blue chase lights on the back of it, the people involved were Hispanic, and they towed it away with a white TRX Ram. 🚨
The SXS shown here is VERY similar, quite possibly the same one that hit my teardrop.

GuideThe spot I picked had candy wrappers and street chalk to pick up. The previous Bozos, yeah Bozo is appropriate, left a hot bed of coals in the fire pit. The last place I camped in TX had a wildfire go through in Feb 2024 and they're still recovering.
ScoutFound easily and down road from Great Sand Dunes NP & Medano Creek. BLM (dispersed) spot off Mt Blanca Rd, was quiet and peaceful. Was surprised how many other campers were enjoying nearby sites. Plenty of room to enjoy site without feeling crowded. A nice site, enjoyed evening fire. Some sites have rock fire rings, so was pleased. Nearness to Great Sand Dunes was a huge plus. Would recommend this dispersed site. Alamosa nearby for supples & food, etc.
GuideWe remember this area being over run with rvs and atvs. They camped and parked all over the place. Now it has a concession. The area was improved. Only thing now is the host won't enforce rules. Like leash, no atvs, folks parking in first come first serve and saving a spot for a friend ( against the law) and tents off the pads. The poor fish are totally harassed and left for dead on shore. People need to learn if they fafo they can lose all our public lands. That wonderful experience we all loved as kids? Gone!
