Oakzanita RV Park Review

Oakzanita is 4000 ft elevation up in the San Diego Mountains. Sites are mainly off roads that are narrow and may be hard to maneuver. Many sites are without sewer however on certain days a honey wagon may be available for $25.00. Park is about 40 minutes from Jillian. Park is okay but nothing…

No Tent Camping

There has never been tent camping allowed here. There is RV or trailer camping but no tent and no bathrooms here.   Make sure you check the water quality since it can be an issue at times since it is near the Mexico border.

Base camp in San Diego

This is my fourth snowbird winter season in San Diego, with clean restrooms, laundry, jacuzzi and a pool to relax in the warm winter weather. Kid and pet friendly with plenty of playgrounds for the kids and Hiking nearby, with all the beach scenery within a 20 minute drive. Fresh water fishing…

Limited 30/50 amp full-hookups. Large rigs, beware. access roads are narrow, hilly, AND curvy. But, it CAN be done. Coming in from the south on Hwy 79 (the only road in) warns that 40' vehicles and longer, are prohibited. But, you can make it to the camp. The entrance is a hair-pin turn (from…

Hidden gem

I was backpacking the PCT and needed to stop for water. This is great little gem hidden in the mountains. Clean and well maintained with large shady oaks.

Beautiful Beach, OK Camping

We had a good experience, just don’t expect too much. No hot showers, beach bathrooms and you’re in a parking lot. We had no issues with the camp host or State staff, in fact they were helpful. Other campers were respectful and friendly. What you get is a great big beautiful beach!

Affordable campground

The hiking trails are nice and the staff that work at the campground are friendly. The facilities for showers and restrooms are clean and well maintained. The main drawback is there is no privacy whatsoever at the sites. The camp sites are right next to each other and all in the open. No trees, no…

Nice and clean, friendly staff.

Sites are large, restrooms and showers are clean. There is no shade and mosquitos were a problem. It's super quiet there is nothing around you just crickets and other campers.

Do not park in any of the 400 section.

Of course being right next to the beach is amazing. At night you can hear the ocean. If you park in the 400 section the only thing you were here is traffic and it's maddening! The 400 or closest to the main road. It's basically a freeway. You can hear the cars throughout the day and no matter where…

Fun One Night Stay

Stayed on a Sunday night with my girlfriend, we were the only campers for at least a few acres. We found a nice shady spot (90° day) and set up near a few fire rings before reaching the upper campground. We had a nice little fire going, roasted weenies, made s’mores and sang Kumbaya the rest of the…

Kumeyaay Lake Campground

Great simple campsite for a quick solo camp, very close to home so it’s nice just to pop in without having to plan out to much, but would advise making a reservation, nice clean bathrooms and showers, so many hiking / MTB trails in Mission Trails Regional Park so lots to do…it can get extremely hot…

Good for a one night campsite.

Would’ve been a 5 star if there were more space, amenities, and awful amount of ants even though we pulled out no food the entire time we were here. The spaces are way too close I can hear in individuals tents. Although it feels like a safe place id rather not stay here again, there was a woman and…

Quiet and beautiful

This was a great campsite for the night. Small sites, but plenty for us, and spread out from other campers. Not many bathrooms so we walked a bit to those, but it was OK. They were very clean, but had no soap. Beautiful stargazing. The drive was very windy and unique. Would come back for sure.
