I have to say this is one of my least favorite Thousand Trails campgrounds so far. Pio Pico has a lot of potential to be a fun destination but I feel it is extremely neglected. Pools and hot tubs are closed. Bathrooms and amenities appear pretty run down. You see the typical "Pardon our dust" signs…

Oakzanita is 4000 ft elevation up in the San Diego Mountains. Sites are mainly off roads that are narrow and may be hard to maneuver. Many sites are without sewer however on certain days a honey wagon may be available for $25.00. Park is about 40 minutes from Jillian. Park is okay but nothing…
There has never been tent camping allowed here. There is RV or trailer camping but no tent and no bathrooms here. Make sure you check the water quality since it can be an issue at times since it is near the Mexico border.
For being a dispersed camping spot I am always impressed when there’s a bathroom! Definitely loved this spot. Stars for days! Coyotes came right by the van in the night though so watch your pets if you’re camping with them! Follow the road all the way back for two great hiking trails. One has…

Beautiful Lake view. Site is well maintained with full facilities. Highly recommend.
Woods valley is a gem in San Diego county. Very natural setting with lots of trees. The campground is immaculate, always clean and they keep the caliber of long term guests very high. Gold standard RV park!
This new koa is under new management and they are really trying to make it a memorable experience for you and your kids. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but it’s a beautiful part of San Diego county.
Amenities include a mini petting Zoo and things like a hayride in warmer weather. The facility…
Always check for updates.
Scenic but not free. Now costs$10 per night
Military affiliated member campground. Perfect for what I needed. A home with a view. Laundry is $1.00 each, Perfect
Nice little county campground. Clean and well maintained. Some excellent hikes nearby.
Arrived here my early Sunday afternoon and I was the only one that ended up camping for the night. There’s a total of 18 sites and some are tent accommodating and some Kennett accommodate larger rugs but none of them are pull through sites. Each site does have a fire ring and there are two clean…
This is 5 star camping. Clean, wide level spots and a nice pool with full bar and waiter service. Pickleball, playgrounds you name it. A great view of San Diego as well. Will be back.

Fabulous campground. Well tAken care of by county rangers. 25 minutes to everywhere in SD.
Limited 30/50 amp full-hookups. Large rigs, beware. access roads are narrow, hilly, AND curvy. But, it CAN be done. Coming in from the south on Hwy 79 (the only road in) warns that 40' vehicles and longer, are prohibited. But, you can make it to the camp. The entrance is a hair-pin turn (from…
Great place right on San Diego Bay. Very clean and has everything you need!
Large pool area. Splash pad for the little ones, bar for the bigger ones, activities poolside and HUGE TV! Food service as well.
Adjacent areas has a nice gym that opens to pool area, game room with pool table, scuffle…
