Cibbets Flat Campground

This first-come, first-served campground operates year-round within Cleveland National Forest, providing drinking water and vault toilets but no showers. The sites accommodate both drive-in and walk-in camping, though pets are not permitted on the property.

Large, shaded sites sit beneath mature oak trees, with most arranged in a loop configuration and a few offering more secluded placement. A seasonal creek runs through the area, and campers report finding plenty of level ground for tents and vehicles. The campground maintains a quiet atmosphere despite its proximity to San Diego County population centers.

"Pit toilet (extremely clean)," notes Robert W., highlighting the well-maintained facilities that include potable water and regular trash service. A knowledgeable camphost keeps the property in good condition throughout the seasons. The location provides dark skies for stargazing while remaining accessible to nearby Alpine for resupply runs.

Reserve extra time for the final approach, as the campground sits off the main road. Firewood is available on-site, and alcohol is permitted within the campground boundaries.

Hidden little gem

Such a great little campground tuck away from the rest. First coke first serve basis. Pit toilet (extremely clean). Running water. Plenty of huge shaded sites. Awesome night sky viewing as well. The caretaker takes exceptionally great care of the entire property. Love this place.

Hidden gem

I was backpacking the PCT and needed to stop for water. This is great little gem hidden in the mountains. Clean and well maintained with large shady oaks.

Beautiful

Awesome campsite with a cute little river tucked away. There was plenty of flat ground for our tent and Jeep. It was a really nice spot to spend the whole day at as well.

party!

This is the campground me and my friends like to go when we wanna get a large group and just get away. Its close enough to San Diego so it doesn’t have to be a long trip. The spaces are great and pretty private. Also a short drive to the Alpine Beer Co. which is always a must do stop.

Secluded no frills campsite

Large sites mostly single, a few double. Very nice camphost that keeps to himself but helpful and very knowledgeable. I've come here many times after striking out at laguna. It's a hidden off the main road. Potable water, vaulted toilets, well kept,no showers, no crowds, seasonal creek.
