      Very Convenient

This place is right off the highway. Plenty of level places to park. We drive a van but I think most sizes of RV would have no trouble here. Lots of room to turn around. Pretty view of the mountains. There's highway noise but we were all alone.

A good place to camp in Phoenix

We camped for two nights at this resort which is primarily for mobile homes or seasonal campers. Nice facilities (pool, laundry, etc). No picnic tables at the sites though.

Love this park! Huge sites, great people

We love this park! It’s in the desert and has huge level sites that are spread out so you aren’t packed in close together. They have emus and chickens that are so neat! The new owner is super sweet and has done a lot to make the park great again. We love it here and don’t want to leave!

      Avoid

Poorly managed with arbitrary fees charged. Park is not a "resort", it's just an old rundown trailer park with a lot of very old park models.New management is awful.

      Quiet and beautiful stop over

Camped for one night on my way from NM to LA.  Arrived at night and it was easy to find. Awoke to a beautiful sunrise at the foot of the mountains. Great rock hunting too! This will be my regular camping spot form now on when traveling the same route.

      Beautiful Vista

Very large park with many different levels of camping experiences. From dry camping to full on glamping ! I stayed at Vista Pt. Dry camp. The views were beautiful. I stayed 10 days and as a single women I felt very safe. Security makes it's rounds and you can't get into the park after leaving without your pass. The one thing I would mention the drive up to the PT is rather steep, but there were different sized rigs up there is it is doable. I didn't use the amenities as I was away most days visiting with my daughter who lives in the valley.

      Weekdays are best

State land trust, good spot for a few nights. Gunshots in the distance, but no incidents/casualties lol. Pulled my 31ft TT back into a spot for a week. Close 10 min drive to stores like WinCo and Safeway and gas stations. Quite weekdays, loud weekends due to motor vehicles breaking the rules. (Not a ohv area but treated as such)

      Great for one night camping

      White Tank Mountain Regional Park

      Excellent semi-civilized experience

      Pros:

      • Well spaced campsites with excellent views in all directions (mountains and desert one way, iconic saguaros and city lights in the other).
      • Cleanest flush toilets and showers (free) I've ever seen in a campground.
      • Dish washing station
      • Campsites are level, clean, and include a shade over a concrete table, fire ring, and hammock hooks for three.
      • Trails throughout the camp into the greater park but the campgrounds separated from the more public trailheads. Strategically placed benches scattered along trails for coffee drinking.
      • Wildlife: birds, coyotes, reptiles, etc
      • The camp is close to civilization enabling quick visits to other attractions, and an easy drive to spring training baseball games.
      • Camp hosts were responsive. They live on-site year round and treat the camp like it is a home. Very impressed with the team.
      • Firewood available on-site. $8/bundle. Very dense wood that doesn't light quickly when wet but burns for a long time.

      Cons:

      • Struggling to come up with one. Probably hot in the summer. Busier on the weekends due to location inside the White Tank Regional park.

DONT WALK RUN!!! A Memory you want to forget!!!

Not sure where to begin. Every part of it was bad. We pulled in to have a gentleman take us to our RV space in the middle of Park models. Showed us the power supply and left. These areas were so small yet there was an entirely different area with nothing but RVs and well over 50 open spaces that could handled a rig that’s 45 feet like ours. It took us 30 minutes to get in this little hole. even the owners of the park models on all sides said they always do this and they don’t understand why. There’s so many spaces that can accommodate our rigs. Why would they put a large rig in a small spot allowing for hazard. I then went to the front desk the next morning to make sure they got my AAA/Sam’s discount. Because my daughter and my husband were on the reservation, they assured me I would get the credit the next day after my husband and daughter finished filling out paperwork. Once registration paperwork was finished, then said it’s too late you’re not getting your credits because the spot is already paid for. The first time I went in there I overheard the conversation in front of me and the poor treatment they treated this lady. I thought for sure she had it coming. only until I was the next one up and they treated me like garbage and zero customer service skills the way they talk down to me. They challenged everything I said. The friendlier I got the worst they were. The trash is on the opposite end of the resort, where you have to drive to each day to dispose of. Concrete next to our space was in crumbles. When my daughter booked reservations they asked the age and how many people. She has three children and listed that in advance. When she showed up, she was told she would have to leave as children were not welcome. They should’ve caught this in the reservation information weeks in advance.. Then they proceeded to tell her they will let us stay for the weekend, but after that, we will not be welcomed back. These are“their exact words. Customer service!! Sometimes it’s not what you say it’s how you say it. Don’t walk run. Worse experience ever.

      Lake Pleasant Regional Park Campground

      Desert Tortoise Campground

This review is for the Desert Tortoise Campground. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. Campsites are decent but a couple of shortcomings.

PROS Campsites have covered pavilions with a picnic table, fire ring, and gravel drives. Bathrooms are dated but clean and in good working order. Portable water is available at the rest rooms. Dumpsters are available.

CONS No hot water in bathrooms. No showers. Other campgrounds within the park had showers that you could use, but there was only one functioning bathhouse. No dishwashing station available. Boat noise on the lake is sometimes a disturbance.

      Nice Overnight

I was not expecting such a beautiful place in the desert. A great place to overnight. Easy paved access until the park and then gravel in the park. Unfortunately, you need to reserve online as there is no way to pay at the park. I recommend stopping at a rest stop on I8 before you drive here as the cellphone reception is very poor. Finally, I do NOT recommend site 32 as it is not a pull through, but a small pull off next to the loop road where you park very close parallel to the road.

      Quick stop!

We stopped here for an overnight on our way back from San Diego. We did book it online at the last minute while driving on interstate 8, but what we found is a hidden jem and we are already planning on coming back.

It is boondock camping so don’t expect to find water or electric hookups, but it is quiet , the sites are big, and there is lots of room without worrying about obstacles even if pulling in in the dark.

      Great spot. Great views

January Rv 23 fr Cell. Att. 3 bars

This is a great spot that is easy to get to. You can see lots of lights from a refinery or factory of some sort but it didn’t really distract. The 10 fwy is only a few miles away and you can see it but if you are facing the mountains it feels more remote. Take the road further in. Most rv’s or big rigs can get pretty close to the mountain before the road becomes too tough. There are several roads that cut into the camping area from the main highway so you do t have to take the one that the directions here send you to. We were able to stream tv with good cell reception on att. I went on my dirt bike for the r into the mountains Very cool spot.
