Beautifully designed newly constructed amenities and facilities have leveled up this historically popular RV park ideally located in the heart of Peoria. Sundial’s big-rig friendly sites are plentiful and offer room to spread out and enjoy in one of the last RV parks in the area.

Close to it all, campers can visit charming Old Town, or Pioneer Park – with 5-acre lake, sports fields, dog park, and splash pad. Baseball fans can take in spring training for the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners at the Peoria Sports Complex while outdoor enthusiasts can plan days hiking and boating at Lake Pleasant. There’s so much to do, but just one Sundial RV Park!

        North Ranch

        Can’t beat the price, but—

We stayed Mid May, ghost town, everyone who could had left. All felt kind of desolate.

RV site had everything water, sewer and electric. Lots of weeds and nothing else.

Showers adequate, Clubhouse house even sported its own large kitchen! People playing cards in an adjoining room were rude.

Only necessity could make me return! Paid for 2 nights & LEFT after one.

Camped for one night on my way from NM to LA.  Arrived at night and it was easy to find. Awoke to a beautiful sunrise at the foot of the mountains. Great rock hunting too! This will be my regular camping spot form now on when traveling the same route.

        Beautiful Vista

Very large park with many different levels of camping experiences. From dry camping to full on glamping ! I stayed at Vista Pt. Dry camp. The views were beautiful. I stayed 10 days and as a single women I felt very safe. Security makes it's rounds and you can't get into the park after leaving without your pass. The one thing I would mention the drive up to the PT is rather steep, but there were different sized rigs up there is it is doable. I didn't use the amenities as I was away most days visiting with my daughter who lives in the valley.

        Weekdays are best

State land trust, good spot for a few nights. Gunshots in the distance, but no incidents/casualties lol. Pulled my 31ft TT back into a spot for a week. Close 10 min drive to stores like WinCo and Safeway and gas stations. Quite weekdays, loud weekends due to motor vehicles breaking the rules. (Not a ohv area but treated as such)

        White Tank Mountain Regional Park

        Excellent semi-civilized experience

        Pros:

        • Well spaced campsites with excellent views in all directions (mountains and desert one way, iconic saguaros and city lights in the other).
        • Cleanest flush toilets and showers (free) I've ever seen in a campground.
        • Dish washing station
        • Campsites are level, clean, and include a shade over a concrete table, fire ring, and hammock hooks for three.
        • Trails throughout the camp into the greater park but the campgrounds separated from the more public trailheads. Strategically placed benches scattered along trails for coffee drinking.
        • Wildlife: birds, coyotes, reptiles, etc
        • The camp is close to civilization enabling quick visits to other attractions, and an easy drive to spring training baseball games.
        • Camp hosts were responsive. They live on-site year round and treat the camp like it is a home. Very impressed with the team.
        • Firewood available on-site. $8/bundle. Very dense wood that doesn't light quickly when wet but burns for a long time.

        Cons:

        • Struggling to come up with one. Probably hot in the summer. Busier on the weekends due to location inside the White Tank Regional park.

        Nice and quiet

        Lake Pleasant Regional Park Campground

        Desert Tortoise Campground

This review is for the Desert Tortoise Campground. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. Campsites are decent but a couple of shortcomings.

PROS Campsites have covered pavilions with a picnic table, fire ring, and gravel drives. Bathrooms are dated but clean and in good working order. Portable water is available at the rest rooms. Dumpsters are available.

CONS No hot water in bathrooms. No showers. Other campgrounds within the park had showers that you could use, but there was only one functioning bathhouse. No dishwashing station available. Boat noise on the lake is sometimes a disturbance.

Vulture Peak Road North State Trust Land

        Dispersed AZ ST trust lands

Rough sloped area at crest by cell tower. This is AZ Trust Land so a $15 online permit is needed to be legit. Cell signal is very good. Only a few miles into town and a grocery store.

        Vulture Mine Road South Dispersed

Ok, but on AZ State Trust land

Access road is rutted and could be muddy if wet. Large open flat area in middle. Free dispersed but need the $15 AZ lands permit. Cell signal is very good. No toilets, no trash, no tables...just rock fire rings. Close to the hwy so some hwy noise. Campers look to be folks that work in town, trashy vehicles and industrial setups, not really a RV nomad community area imho, has a sketchy vibe. The dispersed area a bit to the north closer to town by the cell tower may be a better spot

        Great spot. Great views

January Rv 23 fr Cell. Att. 3 bars

This is a great spot that is easy to get to. You can see lots of lights from a refinery or factory of some sort but it didn’t really distract. The 10 fwy is only a few miles away and you can see it but if you are facing the mountains it feels more remote. Take the road further in. Most rv’s or big rigs can get pretty close to the mountain before the road becomes too tough. There are several roads that cut into the camping area from the main highway so you do t have to take the one that the directions here send you to. We were able to stream tv with good cell reception on att. I went on my dirt bike for the r into the mountains Very cool spot.

        Rock Solid Camping

Love this Saddle Mtn Campsite! The pin location is accurate but it looks there are multiple different access routes. We really enjoyed it here because you can pull up within 50-100 yards from Saddle mountain and camp right below it. So cool.

We tent camped for about 5 days here, the crowd was minimal, felt very safe. Plenty of trails to walk, can explore the mountain and there are petroglyphs here. We only found a couple, but didn’t look too hard.

Overall loved this place, easy access, safe, fun and some cool views!

      • Camper-submitted photo from Skyline Regional Park
        December 10, 2023

        Skyline Regional Park

Small campground, very popular day-use park

General: Very small (7-site) campground. One site is ADA-accessible and paved (the rest are gravel) but there are no hookups at any site.

Site Quality: Generous-sized gravel driveways; Site D sloped uphill slightly. A concrete picnic table, BBQ grill, and fire pit complete the site. I was a little surprised that the picnic tables did not have shelters as it gets quite hot in Arizona (the day-use pavilions were covered).

Restroom: Two-stall, one-sink restroom. No showers. This restroom is also used by the day-use area so by the end of the day, it looks like it has been well-used. It was cleaned at night. It looked like the sink was clogged, but it was just slow draining.

Activities: Hiking! There are several hiking trails directly accessible from the campground and all the trails are well-marked. There is a short (.6 mile) ADA-accessible trail. Horseback riding and mountain biking are also activities although we saw neither in our two days at this park. There was also a wildly popular star-gazing event while we were there.

Final thoughts: IMO, the best sites are B, C, and D. Site D especially has no visible neighbors on either side. Kudos to the city of Buckeye – they could have easily crammed a half-dozen more campsites in this area, but I am glad they did not! As I mentioned, this is a popular day-use area and by 7 am on a weekend in early April, the day-use parking lot was completely full. Despite this, we did not see too many people on the trails.

I've been down in this area a few times now. I've always found it to be very quiet and peaceful. Even Fri and Sat, it's pretty low-key. I don't camp down by the shoreline. The only reason is I'm a little longer than 30'. It's very nice up on Box bar rd as well 5 minute walk to the river. I've seen a skunk a couple of wild horses and several shooting stars. It's definitely a must see area. Enjoy Arizona

        Easy to drive

I think it’s a great place to stay when coming late at night. Close to the highway. Some trash around. It is very open space so wind will attack you really rough. Even roof top tent felt the impact.
