Pinnacle Farms South

Description

Pinnacle Farms South is located in the city of Phoenix at a historic citrus orchard at the base of the fertile South Mountain. Originally a citrus orchard homesteaded from adobe bricks in the 1930's, Pinnacle Farms is now a secluded oasis in the desert close to downtown, the airport and all of the SOMO activities, like Taco Tuesday at the Corona Ranch, Volleyball nights and happy hour at the nearby Gila River Casino and the Silver Pony. Join us for a relaxing weekend to decompress and enjoy the sounds of the rooster and the working farm sounds. We offer 2 camper rentals, Bohemian Hideaway and Groovy Terry Trailer which have all the amenities of a fixed camper, but outdoor shared facilities like showers, kitchen and toilets. We also offer two tent sites where you bring your own tents. And one RV site. You bring the RV, we can provide a 30 amp hook up, water and a dump site, but please plan to arrive empty and only dump what you have to. We also have the Redbird Room, a private room with a private bathroom and a fully self contained Pinnacle Farms apartment available for longer term stays. Sorry, no discounts for monthly stays on the RV sites. Best place to stay in the Phoenix metro area for a monthly stay is Lake Pleasant RV, or Desert's Edge, but they both book up early for the winter, so make reservations early!

When life gives you lemons

Camping out in tent with fire going next to Lemmon trees. Stove and sink to cook and clean up showers to wash up and bathroom. Hot water in shower. We just made lemonade 😋. Oases in the 🏜 desert.

Pinnacle Farms relax with beautiful views

We anticipated having a wonderful stay at Pinnacle Farms and we weren’t disappointed. Our 19’ trailer was in a quiet, private spot next to a large grassy area sometimes used for canine agility. It was lovely walking along rows of pomegranate, citrus, dates with beautiful South Mountain as a backdrop. We enjoyed seeing the vintage trailers used for Airbnb stays and the lush grassy area for tent camping.

There was a self-serve farm stand where we purchased fresh eggs, dates and homemade zucchini bread.

The metro Phoenix area has no shortage of things to do and places to eat…. and many are in an easy drive from the farm.

It was a great place to take our dogs (on leash, of course). We had nice strolls around the farm. They got to see chickens, cattle, rabbit and a farm dog(all calmly viewed by our guys and at a respectful distance).

There were no negatives to our visit, but we do have a few recommendations for future guests. You are on a working farm, so wear the appropriate footwear if walking around the property. Bring a shoe scrubbing doormat to minimize any dirt in your RV(we have an Astro-turf mat). The approach to the RV camping site is down a little embankment and you will need to go slowly and be mindful backing in if your trailer is low like ours.

We want to thank Janna and Mike for their welcome and their help. It was a great stay!

Great stay!

This is a working farm. The RV spot was between date palms and next to the dog agility course. The tent sites were in the back and seemed nice and private. The property has a farm stand where you can pick up eggs, homebaked goodies, and other produce anytime using a self-pay box. Janna was very prompt in her response and squeezed us in last minute. After checking Airbnb and Hipcamp this was the best place we found close to the city.
