Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Coconino National Forest Recreation

There is no dog park but there is a walk around path. There are a lot of weeds around the perimeter

Very nice campground with plenty to do onsite for family. Playground for kids, 2 dog parks, mining, go carts, mini golf. Plus plenty to do in William's AZ with deer farm, Bearizona.

The campground is right off of the highway. Close to the town of Williams and Route 66. Clean restrooms, showers, and laundry room. There is a nice dog park that is along the Grand Canyon railroad track. If we’re in the area again, will be staying here!

Stayed at Circle Pines for just a night while passing through to Grand Canyon.

Let me start by stating that the staff here are exceptional. Really courteous, kind, friendly, and accommodating. 5 stars to them!

This is a pretty happenin' KOA. Lots going on all the time. There is a go cart track (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), a putt-putt, several dog parks, a giant bouncy house thing, etc. Kids are really well accommodated here. We dont have kids, but we have dogs...and the grounds are nice for them. Our dogs are jerk holes so can't play in the dog park with others, but there is plenty of walking areas to make sure they don't get left out of exercise.

As others have stated, this is pretty close to the freeway so you can hear some road noise. It really didn't bother us (full disclaimer, I'm HOH, but my husband can hear well and it didn't phase him).

The only real con to this rv park is that you're kind of packed in. We have a big rig (38ft MH) so this is really just about the tight squeezes of getting that beast maneuvered in here. And then of course, back out. But the staff will absolutely assist when it gets a bit sketchy. Thus the 5 stars for them.

I only stayed one night but could have made an entire vacation in this one location. Close to Winslow and the Grand Canyon, beautiful park setting, excellent park store, and the staff were wonderful. They do have food service, however I did not eat there. Plenty of clean shower and bathroom facilities and options for family entertainment. Two large dog parks with towering pines all around.

We stayed here 3 nights on Site 19.  Gravel, level, pull through site.  Close to but not on top of neighboring RVs.  Dirt Dog Park.  Nice Laundry facilities.  Front desk staff pleasant at check in.  Nothing real exciting nearby except for the Meteor Crater that is worth seeing.  We drove 20 miles into  Winslow one night and 35 miles into Flagstaff another night for entertainment and dinner.

What a great park!! The staff is awesome, the park is extremely well kept, they have lots of shade sites and big rig friendly. You do have to pay extra for internet if you want to stream or work, but their price is very reasonable and being in a nice quiet area is worth it! There is a walking trail and a dog park and only about 7 miles from Bashas. I like the back of the park where we are so you dont get any road noise., but still theres not much traffic, especially in the evening. Would definitely come back again!

PROS: Great Pull through sites. Playground for kids and dog park is a huge plus. All if not most of the amenities. Fantastic Views

CONS: The price was a bit too high and the WIFI is absolutely unusable. I mean that in every literal sense. It is so insanely slow that a simple website will take about 10 minutes to load. It threw me back to the days of dial-up. Don't advertise that you have "WiFi" when you actually have dial-up internet. That's shady. This park also runs a gas station that likes to price gouge you on the gas. (See attached photo)

Pros: Sites are large and clean. Many pull-through, but most are not flat. Our backup spot required much leveling. Many families with young children live here, so one must be very careful driving around the grounds because there are kids all over the place on scooters and bikes. There are 2 laundries, a pool, a club house with good wi-fi, pickle ball courts, and the Verde River flows nearby. Many pet potty spots and a medium-sized dog park. WiFi is intermittent in many areas of the campgrounds, but it’s better than most campgrounds, and the clubhouse WiFi is always good. There are many family-style activities in the clubhouse. Close to Sedona and many historical and archeological sites. The Fort Museum, Archeology Center, and Historical Society are great and have experts on site to give tours. Cons: the laundries are combined with showers and bathrooms, and they are almost always full. We are in the throes of the pandemic for our second year here, and few people wear masks. Kids and families often crowd about with no instructions from parents and no masks. We feel that isn’t safe for people our age even though we wear masks and are vaccinated. We also love kids, but parents need to be more sensitive to how their kids run over older people. Many of the children are home-schooled, and we see tweens and toddlers in the streets at all times of the day and night. There are many RVs with white supremacy emblems and huge flags. Having grown up in the South in the 1950s with parents who fought in WWII, we find this offensive. This campground is very close to I-17–some sites are within 100 yards, so the noise in some is bad. Elevation is above 3,000 feet, so nights are in the 20s and 30s; daytime temps range from 50-70. Prices went up a couple of hundred $ a month from last year. Last year, we paid for a month in advance, and when we left a week early, they changed our stay to weekly and charged us an extra $240. We should have just left because we felt that if we paid for a month, we should not have to pay extra. Anyone staying should ask questions about rates and leaving early.

Well I felt a bit deceived by the website… it said there was a basketball court, a dog park, and a playground but honestly they are the saddest excuses of any of those things I have ever seen. The pool is very nice, if not a bit cold and seating is limited. Bathrooms/ showers are very clean. Getting in and out is pretty crazy as you’re on a steep hill. The weather was nice but I was looking for a more family friendly campground and this was not it. Great as a stop on your way somewhere maybe but not a good weekend getaway unless you have stuff in town to see or do.

Things were good until a camper moved in next to us. All of a sudden everything went off. We flipped the breaker still not everything came on. We managed to use an extension cord to turn frig on since few outlets worked. Had a mobile guy come out today. The issue is with the power pole. Course now it’s our issue! We spoke with our neighbors this morning and last time they stayed here same thing happened. Cost them $200 to get up and running. This morning their coffee pot wouldn’t come on- my husband spoke with the guy next door and they had exact issue that we currently have with ours. They thought it was just their rig until they spoke to us. We both even had surge protectors! They were to be here a week but they left this morning so as not to have a repeat of last time. We were staying until the 31st but once our mobile tech comes back we’re leaving! So far we’re in $195.50! I was told they had no septic hookups as they are remodeling. So we got 2 nights free. But they parked us next to dump station and smell is horrible. Nice dog park but it’s dirt and my dog was filthy. It also has little burrs all over the ground that gets into the dogs feet! It’s not really gated. The front gate has a combo but it closes at 6 and you need to use side gate. Side gate has no lock just a clip so anyone can get in- as soon as we pulled in to register a man from the office came running out like we were on fire and said we couldn’t sit there we had to park on the other side. Same thing happened to others here at the park. It’s a strange place and would not recommend staying here!!!!

The camper cabins were a warm and welcome abode after roughing it boondocking for a while. Showers and bathrooms were clean and the cabins were pet friendly.

I found this place when in need of a place to stay near Sedona. It fits the bill. Free, friendly travelers, pets allowed, and you get to watch hot air Ballons land in the morning.🙂
