Beautiful location with an unsettling energetic vibe

The area was really beautiful. I had a pretty strange experience, however. I arrived late at night and once I finally found a camping space, there was a truck that pulled up after me, parked about 10 feet away and the person just sat in the truck without ever getting out. At first I thought, they're just Sharing the space, but then I started to feel very unsettled- like they were watching me or something. As a single female, this is something that was fairly uncomfortable. They sat there for at least an hour, never moving and finally drove away. The next morning I saw this elk skin was draped over the fence behind me and hooves along the fence as well.

Stargazing and peaceful

Large camping site, very open space with clear sky-view. 1 site with 1 fire ring but it could share more than 1 group if needed. Each site far from each other where you can notice their existence. Good spot to camp.

Somewhat eerie, but a great stay

Upon arriving, my fiancé and I noticed a teddy bear in the grass. I didn’t think too much of it and maybe that a family just forgot it. While starting a fire, my fiancé noticed there was a burnt up bible in the fire, a hoove, and some crystals right next to it. We didn’t feel too good about using that fire pit so we started our own and didn’t touch what we found. It was a little strange to come up on, but it didn’t affect our night any. It was a beautiful camp spot and we had a great night. We also found a baby scorpion, but he didn’t bother us

Good Spot

Very pleasant spot that is easy to access right off the highway. Plenty spots to choose from. There were a lot of biting gnats tho!

Quiet, scenic, easy to locate

We are in a 34 footer! The drive, while do-able, is not necessarily preferable in something 20+ feet long. Narrow dirt road, closer to one lane than two, and no guard rails. We just took it slow and that worked fine for us! It has been pretty quiet (even compared to other BLM sites we’ve visited this month). It’s also January which absolutely plays into the noise/traffic level! It’s chilly but nothing a sleeping bag can’t help! Really pretty walks, and hikes, and lots of room for our pups and kiddos to play. Super easy to navigate, which is always a big plus! We’re camping almost exactly where the pin is dropped. We’ve been able to visit Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and just come back here at night to camp so location isn’t bad either.

Sitewhen you pull past the cattle guard sign you come to an opening with a few camping spots on the right - we took the left trail and stayed at the first site on the left

Great views, plenty of campsites

Great area, seems like it is a popular spot. If you have a big rig, may want to get here early, but you could probably maneuver your way into a spot if none of the main spots are left. Beautiful views and quiet unless you get noisy neighbors.

Awesome busy little spot

Easy access to great dispersed camping. Although this is a big area, it’s busy and good spots fill up fast! We were here just after a rainstorm and the road was slippery and muddy. We didn’t have too much trouble in our FWD van but be aware that the road changes drastically in the rain! Stayed for a few days, hiked around and had a lovely stay. Was clean and trash free and everyone was pretty quiet and respectful.

Lots of spots

The spots are somewhat clustered together, but we found one that was a little separated from the rest, at 34.6941804, -111.7242891.

Cell service was ok, not great but it was usable.

Some hikes and trails in the area. People come to this area for day use hiking as well.

Quiet area, not far from the main highway, but it feels like it's far.

Roads are doable in big rigs. We were fine in our 26 ft class c and we saw a big class A camping there as well.

Perfect spot

Loved this spot! Tons of room for all kinds of rigs. And the further you go down the roads, the more secluded the spots get. I was dumb at set up at one of the first spots I saw. Then while walking the dogs I found about 15 more that were more removed from the road and a few even had shade trees. Had pretty decent Verizon reception. And someone mentioned a trail of hieroglyphs in the area.

Great spot

This is a perfect spot if you’re traveling on I17 and looking for a place with great views, easy access and simple. We were traveling to the Grand Canyon for the weekend and looking for a spot to spend the night half way to our destination. It’s definitely boondock camping.

Great Spot. Convenient for travelers

I camped here for one night as I was passing through the area. It is close to the highway (convenient if you’re arriving late), but far enough to be isolated from the noise.

Quiet and great access to the Camp Verde/Sedona area.

There are a couple exposed spots right off of the road on the left hand side within the first .25 of the road. These spots are more for the last minute overnighters. However, if you go further down the road within a couple miles there are more secluded spots with fire rings where people set up and stay awhile. As a bonus, this site is just a few miles out from the Beaver Creek and right down the road from the Bell Trail trailhead parking lot.

Small, secluded dispersed camping site near Sedona

We camped here with a tent three nights this past March, and would have stayed longer. Felt very safe, always one or two other cars/trailers in the area, but plenty of trees to feel private. Existing fire pits were very nice! There is a 14 day maximum stay.
