    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks within 30 minutes of Daphne provide full hookup options for motorhome travelers. Apalachee RV Campground at Blakeley State Park features spacious pull-through sites with water, sewer, and electric hookups in a wooded setting. "Big camping spaces with semi-private sites," one camper shared about the park's layout. Winner's Circle RV Resort offers 50-amp electrical service on level sites with both back-in and pull-through options. The Retreat RV & Campground on Styx River and Magnolia Springs RV Hideaway both accommodate big rigs, though site leveling can be challenging at some locations.

Concrete pads are available at select parks including All About Relaxing RV Park, which maintains 41 sites open year-round with strong cellular service. Many parks enforce restrictions on RV age and size—Bella Terra requires vehicles to be under 15 years old and at least 32 feet in length. Navigation to some parks requires attention to low-hanging branches or narrow access roads. Dump stations are available at most facilities, though visitors note varying water pressure between locations. Reservations become essential during winter months when snowbirds migrate to the Alabama Gulf Coast. Pet policies vary, with most parks allowing dogs but imposing breed restrictions or designated pet areas.

      Magnolia Farms RV Park

Off the beaten path, but close to a bunch of attractions.

As a snowbird this place checked all my boxes. Its 10 miles either way between two populated cities and 20 miles to the Gulf of America. This park literally sits at the intersection of four, mile wide cotton farms on all sides, the chances of hearing traffic is slim. There is approximately 50 sites, some with concrete pads, some stone and some grass. All look to be very level since I never saw chucks under any wheels. Every site is full hookup and there is a clubhouse with a full sized kitchen and showers if you don't want to use the one in the rig. Wi-Fi is broken up into 3 zones, so you're not fighting to connect. Haleigh, the new manager, took over in November and is putting her stamp on the park. There were Christmas lights all over the clubhouse and Park wide potlucks during the holidays. Made it feel like home. There are several long term residence(longer than a snowbird) who were all very nice and welcoming. The grounds are well kept with improvements currently happening. It's a kid and pet friendly park. I will definitely be returning next winter.

      Sugar Sands RV Resort

      Our favorite Orange Beach campground

Very clean. Spacious sites with level concrete pads. Full hook ups. Only 8-10 minutes to the beach.  Very clean bath houses. Easy to navigate campground road with tons of room to back into back-in sites. Pull throughs also easily assessible. Nice pool. Check in easy and quick. Employees very friendly. Will be back next month. Camp store on site. They also have a few rental tiny houses and rv's. Trash pickup at your site each morning. Cable TV and great WIFI.

9/6/20 update: all things mostly the same, bath house closed from 8pm to 8am and WiFi not nearly as good as past visits.

Military Park Pensacola Naval Air Station Oak Grove Park and Cottages

      Quiet

RV sites are concrete pads with full hook up (power, water, sewer, WiFi, and cable). Most sites are a little closer together than we are used to. No fire rings at the RV sites. Tent sites do have fire rings, but no power or water. Bathhouse is large and very clean. Laundry facilities available. There is a community center building with TV, tables, and fire ring that hosted a dirty Santa and nightly BYOB happy hours while we were there, as well as a NYE Party planned. Staff and camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the Pensacola Lighthouse and National Naval Aviation Museum. Dog friendly beach right at the campground. They do not allow swimming at this beach, but still fun for letting the dog run, fishing, and hanging out. Swimming beach and pool are located at other areas of the base. Reservations are site type, not site specific, but after talking with the staff they said they’d try to accommodate site requests the best they could when making reservation.

      Magnolia Farms RV Park

      Quiet, Friendly RV Park

We are fairly new to the RV life - Andy tried to help us back in, and then decided he would just do it for us. He was so helpful. Everyone has been helpful. The laundry facility has an app that lets you know when your clothes are done, so you can walk back to your camper and wait instead of sitting with it. 3 or 4 activities are planned every month. There are some permanent residents, but enough transient to feel like you are with travelers. We chose it because it was close to our daughter, but would choose it again. Monthly rate is cheaper than daily rate. There is a fire pit for everyone to share, but no fire pits or grills for individual sites. Wooden decks for each site are nice. Grassy back in and some pull through- all level. Someone is always tending to the grounds and doing maintenance on the sites. We’ll be back!

      Sun Outdoors Orange Beach

      Lots of concrete

This is an all Inclusive RV Resort! Lots of spaces, but very few RVs when we were there. Sites are all concrete with easy access hookups. Not much shade. 2 pools, one adult only. Dog Park, laundry, tennis courts, gulf cart rental. They even have a business center. Walking trails connect to Gulf State Park. They do a lot of planned activities which can be annoying. Long term or short term sites available.

      Blakeley State Park Campground

      Hidden Spot Close to Mobile

We stayed at spot RV Spot 2. It was a pull through spot and easy to get into. The spot was somewhat flat but we had to maneuver to get even and then still needed leveling blocks. It was very quiet at night with barely any lights. The cell service was pretty good since it close to town. We didn't stay for long, but the historic park was nice to check out and the sunset at the water was beautiful. Overall the campground was great, good amenities, very quiet, lots to see, and close to Mobile and Daphne.

      Our First FAMCAMP Stay

To get to Oak Grove use the West Gate via Blue Angel PKWY. If you come in the main gate, and don’t thoroughly know your way through the base, you can easily end up at the old Seabees gate area where there are blockade weaves that are not RV friendly.
We checked in at the little campground(CG) office at the entrance then backed in to site 25 with FHUs. We couldn’t find the cable connection so checked with the office. The nice lady working the office came over and looked all around the utilities post where the newly run cable is supposed to reside. She finally found it out front by the cement pad. We ran the cable under the trailer and the very wide variety of channels worked fine. This is an older CG with lots of trees so satellite would be iffy. This CG has it own entrance to the beach that did not have a lot of people traffic during our 5 nights stay. There are a combination of back-in and pull through sites with 50& 30 AMP service. The sites tend to be fairly close to each other. Several reviews state spacious sites, but compared to campgrounds we’ve stayed in, only a handful of sites such as deluxe sites 46-51 come close to spacious. The water pressure was very good plus we got 4 bars on Verizon. A bonus is that the CG is close to the Naval Aviation Museum and flight line where the Blue Angels launch and practice. We went out to the beach where we could see the Blue Angels practice on Tuesdays& Wednesdays when they are in town. After the regular duty day and on weekends the park was quiet. There are multiple trails and areas to walk your dog or ride your bike.

      Luxury RV Resort

      Great level spots

The park great and very easy to get into (35’ 5th wheel). It was very full while we were there but the spots were set up to feel like you still had your own space from your neighbors. Room to park 2 cars. 2 separate spots to tie into the sewer which was nice. Level concrete pads with picnic tables. Hosts where very helpful. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Would stay again.

      Chickasabogue Park - Temporarily Closed

      Perfect for local weekend getaway

Chickasabogue is a bit run down but it’s a great spot to get away from the bustle of daily life. There’s a sports field, water access, and several short, easy paths to hKe. It’s pet friendly and family friendly.

    Guide to Daphne

Camping near Daphne, Alabama offers year-round options with average summer temperatures reaching 90°F while winter lows rarely dip below 40°F. The region borders Mobile Bay and features coastal plain terrain with a mix of wooded areas and waterfront access. Most campgrounds remain open through all seasons with peak occupancy occurring during winter months when northern visitors seek milder temperatures.

    What to do

Hiking and historic exploration: Apalachee RV Campground - Blakeley State Park provides access to extensive trail systems with historical significance. "We stayed a few nights enroute to our final destination and really enjoyed this campground. It is very close to Mobile, but also very secluded. There is alot of space between sites and lots to see and do within the campground also. Hiking and biking trails, a boat excursion and a history tour of the area," notes Alana R.

River activities: The Styx River offers cooling relief during hot summer days with tubing available at The Retreat RV & Campground On Styx River. One visitor mentioned, "Very pretty camp ground. Very close to the Styx river where you can get cooled off." The campground charges $30 per person for tubing excursions that include pickup service.

Train experiences: Wales West RV Resort features narrow-gauge rail systems where visitors can ride passenger-carrying trains. "The big attractions are the two narrow-gauge rails systems with their passenger-carrying trains. With cows lowing nearby and train sounds, it's a peaceful place," explains a former workamper.

    What campers like

Clean, individual bathroom facilities: All About Relaxing RV Park receives consistent praise for its bathroom facilities. "Bathhouse has 4 guest bathrooms like you would find in a house. Each has a sink, vanity, toilet and very large shower. By far the nicest I have ever seen at any campground," states one camper.

Personalized welcome touches: Campgrounds like All About Relaxing RV Park create personalized experiences. A visitor notes, "They direct you into your site which you are greeted with a welcome sign with all family members' names (even the four legged family members)." Staff often escort new arrivals to their sites and assist with setup.

Concrete pads and level sites: Well-maintained sites with concrete pads receive positive feedback. "Nice large cement level pads. Rigs of all sizes fit," mentions one camper about All About Relaxing RV Park, while another notes the campground has "41 sites open year-round with excellent cellular service."

    What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Some campgrounds require additional equipment for leveling. At The Retreat RV & Campground On Styx River, a visitor advises, "Make sure you bring leveling blocks, some of the sites are fairly level while others are not. Our site sloped down towards the river and we needed extra blocks to place under our tires and stabilizers."

Reservation timing matters: Winter months see increased occupancy with snowbird travelers. "Snow Birds... Great campground. Very much a campground and not a boring parking lot. Beautiful area," notes one seasonal visitor about The Retreat. Reservations become particularly important from November through March.

Varying site accessibility: RV access can be limited at certain parks. "The RV sites are not on any type of paved or level ground and are not suitable for larger RVs. They're VERY close together and there are a lot of trees. They call them 'pull through' sites but there isn't enough room to pull through and turn onto the road," cautions a visitor to The Retreat.

    Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly amenities: Magnolia Farms RV Park organizes regular activities for families. "3 or 4 activities are planned every month. There are some permanent residents, but enough transient to feel like you are with travelers," reports one visitor.

Swimming options: Multiple campgrounds offer swimming facilities. "The Retreat offers several amenities including showers, laundromat, and gas grills. There are even bouncy houses and playgrounds for the kids," states one visitor, while another notes they "spent a dinner out next to the river."

Pet-friendly areas: Designated pet areas exist at many campgrounds. At The Retreat, "they have a pet beach separate so even your dogs can enjoy the water." All About Relaxing RV Park features "a dog run and dog bathing area" among its amenities.

    Tips from RVers

Hookup adapters: Electrical connections vary between parks. "We had issues with the breaker... Our camper kept tripping. Office didn't have anyone to look at it. Had to go buy a 50 to 30 step down and had no issues after," advises a visitor to Unhitched Foley.

Navigation challenges: Tight turns and narrow roads create difficulties at some locations. At The Retreat, "we were forced to back out and it was a long way we had to back out and navigate through the trees," reports one RVer. Another notes at Unhitched Foley, "The roads are really narrow, witnessed a camper hitting a parked car in a driveway."

Park orientation assistance: Staff at several parks help with parking and setup. At All About Relaxing RV Park, "They took us to our pull through spot, helped us get lined up, and greeted us like old friends!" This service proves particularly valuable for those new to rv camping near Daphne, Alabama.
