RangerDecent option for the night. Basically two gravel parking lots with a small park in the middle. Pretty busy when I was there- some folks camping and others just using the bathrooms/showers. Grateful that this option exists, and conveniently down the street from a laundromat. If you're willing to drive another 30 minutes west - the Glenrock South Recreation Complex is a nicer camping experience.

RangerI stayed here for 4 nights while waiting on a package to arrive in Casper. I really enjoyed my stay. It has the vibes of a paid campground - only free. When you get to the complex drive past the vault toilets and initial picnic area. You'll see 5-6 campsites with concrete beds, picnic tables and grills. There is some road noise, but worth it for a convenient location. There is a 5 day limit. I'd definitely return.

TravelerThis place was behind a locked gate. The road beyond was deeply rutted. Not accessable.
RangerThis is an awesome place to stay if you like to have very panoramic views pretty much all the way around you. Verizon is 1 to 2 bars pretty regular. The river is a long ways down, so I did not mark this as being a fishing place. Don’t get too close to the edge if you are afraid of heights. Pack it in and pack it out. There are no services.
RangerI stayed here in late September and it was pretty busy, most or all of the sites were taken. I stayed in site 1, which I think is the most level. I was able to get perfectly level without any blocks. The pit toilets are on the other side of the campground from site 1, it's about a two minute walk. They were clean and usable. There is a dumpster by the bathrooms.
It's very dry here, not much green. There are a lot of flies and other bugs but none of them bit me. The river is beautiful but it is a ways down from the campsites. It's kind of a rough path to get down close to it. Several fisherman were doing it though.
I don't think there are any rules about generators, I noticed one camper seemed to be running theirs almost 24 hours a day.
The picnic tables and fire rings are in great shape. Each picnic table has a shade shelter over it.
I had great speeds from AT&T and Verizon here. My T-mobile device roamed onto AT&T and had a great signal but was slow.
There is another campground closer to the main road called Gray Reef Reservoir, I checked that one out too and it is very similar. But I prefer this one (Pete's Draw), mainly due to the site layout.
This is a great campground for an overnight, but you probably wouldn't stay longer unless you love to fish.
ScoutThe campground is large and open. It's arranged so that there are limited wet/energized spots, with the rest of the ground catering to tents and dry camping. In the center of the property, there is a "community" kitchen. There's also a laundry room with a heated shower for campers to use. The site has hammocks, horseshoes, Cornhole and plenty of space to fish and relax.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
