Creek access and natural bridge views draw campers to this free eight-site campground in Douglas County. The North Platte River flows directly beneath the park's limestone arch formation, creating opportunities for fishing and water recreation just steps from the camping area.
Sites 4-8 receive the highest marks from visitors, while sites 2-3 feature nearby lighting poles. Each spot includes a picnic table, fire ring, and access to vault toilets and drinking water. The park provides a playground, horseshoe pits, volleyball court, and covered shelter with electricity. A short hiking trail leads to the top of the natural bridge for elevated views of the river and surrounding red rock formations.
Gates operate from 8 AM to 8 PM daily, creating what carla R. calls "like a private resort once the gates close at 8." Check-in occurs at the office across from the campground. The three-day limit and no-pets policy help maintain the park's condition. RVs up to 30 feet can access the drive-in sites, though some campers also choose walk-in tent camping.
Wildlife sightings include rabbits, antelope, and occasional rattlesnakes in the area. For additional overnight options, campers can explore camping near Douglas or visit nearby commercial campgrounds like Douglas KOA. This works well for budget-conscious travelers and those seeking creek-side camping without fees.
