Very Nice!

This little town park for campers is wonderful! We had 5 units during our one night stay, but there is room for many more. Pleasant, treed, graveled, and very very quiet. Easy location for those traveling across Wyoming. Very impressed…and thankful!

Free clean campsite next to the WY State Fair

Very green and well kept spot to camp with clean toilets and hot showers. Happened upon this place when local WY state fair staff told us their overnight camping lot was full, which was great since this one was free! We tent camped so needed ear plugs for the road noise, but worth it for the convenient location. Currently they have some limitations on when you can camp on the grass due to overnight watering, so tent campers beware.

Free city park camping

Riverside park is a city park with no electric hook ups. There are areas on nice lush grass for renting and a loop that RVs can park. It’s right across the street from the state fairgrounds and you can stay free for 2 nights. There is water and a dump station along with benches and stand alone grill in the green areas. It’s a cute little area next to the river so you could fish if you’d like. There is a public bathroom to use

Free - beautiful - clean - showers

Great job city of Douglas! This is a rare gem! Free dump station, water, showers, trees, green grass, river, level for RV parking. It’s by a busyish road, but it was a quiet night! This was perfect for us after coming out of the black hills exploring the national Forrest in our truck camper! Showers in truck campers when dry campy are limited! 😎 I was a bit worried about it being full of vagrants, but it wasn’t! We really appreciate the hospitality and stay for the night. I give this a five star rating for a free place, not resort camping but a beautiful place.. with FREE amenities!

Free camping

This city park is right next to the river. It is a decent sized loop with picnic tables scattered through out. It is primitive so no electric, but offers a shower/bathroom. It’s first come first serve with a 2 night max stay. Fires and liquor are not allowed and you can fish if you have a permit. People are courteous and free is always a great thing.

Riverview Park

This is a park that you may camp at within the city of Douglas. I was a little cautious when I pulled in thinking it may be for transients, but it was mostly van/car campers, tenters and a few pull behinds. It had a fair amount of traffic through the night, but quieted down in the middle of the night. The other people there were quiet and definately the camping crowd and knew camper etiquette. I stayed the night then moved on. It has a restroom with a shower, which is nice.

Good overnight spot

U shaped parking lot. Park area with picnic tables in the middle & one side. No fires. Pets ok. Right next to a river. Gas stations nearby. Good water pressure for filling freshwater tank. Free dump station on site. Very noisy & lots of drive-throughs overnight. A couple homeless people hanging out.

Useful

I’m from Kentucky and I know that state by state campgrounds are used for very different reasons. Riverside City Park seems to be an in transit/migrant/out of state worker kind of place. It’s very basic, park it and go. There’s a split rail fence so people won’t park in the grass. There are picnic tables and metal grills and there is shade. It’s in the city so it’s convenient and there’s access to the river. When you go on the City Site look under facilities-find a facility-facility type and features and that will get you to the phone numbers. No reservations, first come. That’s about it. I would not go here for a fun weekend with the family UNLESS you are going to the State fairgrounds right up the road.

Really nice spot

We pulled through just to see it because it was a little early in the day to stop(12:30pm)but it was beautifully kept up...green grass, picnic tables, nice and clean and there is a river at the far end with benches!
