Best RV Parks & Resorts near Glenrock, WY

I liked the little dog park and river access.

I mostly didn’t like everything else… from what I’ve been gathering, they put their long-term stays in worse sites which seems strange? RV sites are extremely small. Whoever was in charge of the website's marketing did a bang-up job, because let me tell you, the reality is a far cry from those picture-perfect images.

This campground, is nothing more than a flat, uninspiring patch of land that will transform into a mud pit at the first sight of rain. Shade? Forget about it. You'd be luckier finding a needle in a haystack than a sliver of shade here. And good luck tracking down any staff – it's like they've perfected the art of hide and seek. The office "closed" sign is practically a permanent fixture. So, if you're in the middle of a long-term stay and something goes awry– you're pretty much on your own.

Great, easy access to I 25 and Casper. Most of the people are residents and we saw some sketchy activity.  Overall there isn't much to do in Glenrock, but Casper is a 20 minute drive.  The park is quiet and full hook ups are available, which are needed in July.  The people who run the park are very nice, but the park is somewhat rundown.

We were using this campground as just a stop on the way to Grand Teton. It was convenient off the highway. Close together, but it's an RV park after all ...it was super clean, owner was super nice and very organized....provided with a list of rules and there are a bunch of signs.

We were able to do laundry here and it has a dog park area with dog poop balls and a ball and tug of war toys. My dog loved this!!!

Platte river was at the back of the campground and you can go down and hang out. Mosquitoes bad at night though down by the river! We had a good experience for a quick stop. $53 for full hookup etc. It's the only thing they had other than non electric, as we booked same day.

Got pretty nervous reading the reviews prior to getting here but found out it’s changed hands and they are cleaning it up! All new poured patios. Great water pressure seems to be good water as well. Full hook ups! Still needs some grooming to the landscaping but nice little camp ground and cute town!

Nice campground near Casper, WY. We just stayed for one night and they were able to accommodate us arriving late with us calling ahead. There is a grassy area by the river that is nice to walk your dog. Shower and bathroom area was clean. There is a little playground for kids.

The only cons was it is close to the train which was a noisy when it came by, but didn’t prevent us from sleeping. Full hook ups, pet friendly.

Let me start by explaining that 3-stars is usually the highest an RV Park will get from me. I am tempted to give it 4, but some pretty great places have a 4 from me (like Yellowstone). I believe that rating everything high, kind of causes the system of starring to lose perspective. 1 Star=Never Again, 3 is average, and 5 Stars=I don’t ever want to leave. As much as I car camp for convenience, I prefer more remote spaces, which is not an RV Park (so there is my bias). 3 is an average rating and this is a really nice spot—but being in the middle of not-much in South Eastern Wyoming, it’s hard to be totally wowed. Additionally, we camped here during the total eclipse of 2017. As a result, the Park was at maximum capacity, and I believe, expanding. The owners are super hospitable. Even with the event in progress, they did choose to charge more to camp rather than overcrowd the campers (much appreciated and very honest). There is an excellent game room. The showers are very clean. There is laundry and a small play area. The RV sites are the typical pull through RV Park sites, and not spacious. The campground, like much of Wyoming is flat, sunny, and with a gravel “yard” that replaced the tall, golden yellow grasses that stretch across these dry plains.

We camped in a tent. The owners had created new tent sites that were directly on the North Platte River. These tent sites, and the staff friendliness are earning the 3 stars. There were trees for shade and a nice breeze coming over the water. There was a good deal more privacy than the RV sites. My understanding was that these were intended to remain as permanent tent sites even after the eclipse. There are no hook-ups at all for the tent sites, and campers cannot back into their camp for convenient grabbing of stuff—a very short walk is required (but far enough to notice the distance). In some ways, this distance from the car, and the line of trees made the campsite feel a little more remote and like resting at an oasis in the desert.

Whether you need a place to park for the night or for the week this is a good choice. There are a few down falls like no trees big enough to give you shade making it really hot. It is full hook ups with cable and WiFi. There is a dog run, mini golf, and pool. There weren’t as many campers this year and staff thought maybe because the high gas prices and that Yellowstone flooded might be the cause. The staff was really friendly. In the shop I was impressed that they supported local business. There’s also free internet and computer to use as well as a free coffee bar in the shop. Found out that it’s under new ownership and they’ve decided not to have horse ring and pens anymore. There are a few cabins and tent areas. You can hear a bunch of traffic noise. Otherwise it’s a nice park

The camper hook ups were a breeze, with flawless water, electric, and sewage connections. I especially appreciated the concrete slab next to my camper, perfect for grilling, playing bag toss, or simply relaxing in chairs.

The location couldn't have been better - nestled right by the city park, I felt the location was perfect. Being close to Deer Creek added a touch of nature to the experience. I noticed ongoing improvements, such as the replacement of gravel sites and the addition of new cement slabs, truly showing a commitment to enhancing the RV park. The presence of shade trees was nice, and the adjacent city park, complete with a dog park, was a fantastic bonus.

Alongside a creek outside of Casper, sits this very quaint RV park. Open all year, a great rest stop to get out of windy conditions if I-25 is closed. Trees at most campsites. Was really impressed with how clean the restrooms and showers were.

Great job city of Douglas! This is a rare gem! Free dump station, water, showers, trees, green grass, river, level for RV parking. It’s by a busyish road, but it was a quiet night! This was perfect for us after coming out of the black hills exploring the national Forrest in our truck camper! Showers in truck campers when dry campy are limited! 😎 I was a bit worried about it being full of vagrants, but it wasn’t! We really appreciate the hospitality and stay for the night. I give this a five star rating for a free place, not resort camping but a beautiful place.. with FREE amenities!

This was a great spot for a one night stay; if we fished, it would be even better for a longer stay.

Pros: incredibly nice and accommodating staff, very clean, great seating on RV spots, lots of seating next to the river and by playground, good playground, extra toys for kids near playground

Cons: not a lot of space between RV spots, all gravel (but they laid down about 10’ of astroturf on each RV spot), river is more for fishing than anything else

Beautiful sites right on the river. We were in site 87 for just one night. Most sites have full hookups, ours had all but sewer. They have a dump station though.

Each site has a turf area with clean and maintained patio furniture.

Clean showers/bathrooms. Riverside is mowed down low, big grass fields. Bring mosquito spray though!

Awesome staff. Well maintained and fairly level sites. Sites are mostly gravel with outdoor carpet and a picnic table. WiFi is connection is good.

I would rate this higher than any dispersed campground. Well maintained campsites with new covered tables and leveled site for tents at each. Pit toilets were very clean with plenty of toilet paper. A hidden gem and a bargain at $10 a night

Amazing hosts. The animals were so fun to get to know and we loved touring the farm with the hosts. We arrived very late at night and they came out to greet us. I thought we would have electric hook up as part of the site, but that’s not available. I mentioned that to the host and in the morning they had run an electric cord out to our trailer, which we didn’t end up needing. The views are also spectacular of the Casper landscape. I highly recommend this as a unique camping experience!

Situated a serene 25-30 minute drive from Casper, nestled amidst the beauty of a mountain adorned with picturesque switchbacks, this campground offers a unique sense of seclusion not often found in locations closer to town. 

Beartrap stands out because it is one of the few campgrounds in the Casper region that is more secluded and has a great mountain feel. As with any popular site, celebratory gatherings are not uncommon. For a more tranquil experience, I recommend considering a midweek visit during the delightful seasons of Spring and Fall, steering clear of the busier summer period.

A notable aspect of this campground is its consistently well-maintained restroom facilities, reflecting a dedication to cleanliness and visitor satisfaction. The diverse array of sites caters perfectly to all kinds of camping preferences, whether it's the convenience of pull trailers and RVs or the more adventurous tent-campers. The expanse of the grounds also offers ample space for families with children and four-legged companions to play.

This campground is Located in Barr Nun area outside of Casper. It is all gravel and campsites are very close together. They have a shop in the office area. Along side the office is a little putt-putt golf course-fun fun. There is a propane fill station along with an indoor pool in this area too. There are 2 small dog areas which are also gravel except a small strip of turf at the end. We were in the Rv section with water and electric, our site had a picnic table but no fire pits. They also had areas for tents either on platforms or under shelters. Bathrooms are clean, attractive and handicap accessible. There are really cute cabins here also. This KOA served its purpose as a overnight stop.
