GuideThis is a great stop for an overnight. Fantastic board walkway overlooking the canyon. There is a day use park adjoining with covered picnic areas. Be prepared for tourist traffic but most are just passing thru so only there a short time. Great free and level overnight spot.
ScoutIt's our first night in Douglas, Wy. We planned to stay here, but found significant road construction blocking the south part of the road. The park is closed (apparently there's signage somewhere about that). This is Sept 22, 2026.
Otherwise it looks like a great stop.
GuideStayed for 1 night while passing through Casper with just one other RVer in the campground. Located outside of town at the end of Mormon Canyon road at a rodeo arena w/ picnic area, playground, baseball diamond, disc golf course and campground w/ 6 back-in sites, alongside Deer Creek and I-25. Spacious campsites are big-rig friendly, shaded by mature cottonwood trees, pedestal grills, picnic tables & some w/ concrete pads & water spigots throughout (on city water system according to city master plan). No hook ups or dump station, but public restroom w/ vault toilets opposite the playground. 5 day limit. Great 1 mile gravel path loop around park perimeter that our dog loved. Overall a well maintained & clean park off but not far off the beaten path; please keep it that way.
RangerWe got here after dark and were a bit confused on the reservation process, especially since we had no cell service, so we had to head part way back down the mountain to book a site. The reservation process was pretty tedious. Our site was OK, had a picnic table & fire ring, but the site itself had almost gravel like rocks, not great for our tent. The view and wildlife was pretty. Saw 6 deer in the morning as we were packing up.
GuideDry and windy, but fairly quiet and open. No one else around us when we camped here for a single night. You can be are far off the road as you want/are comfortable with. It was very dry when we were here so no problems with the ground. There is nothing out here though so bring your own water and all that!

There is a walking gate at the back that allows guests to cross the street for drinks and food. Right behind the park, there are two dining options: The Hanger Bar & Grill, which had poor service and bad food, and Chatter's Bar and Grill, known for good food and drinks. Please note that Chatter's is a local hangout and can get a bit rowdy. We had no issues during our visit, and the bartender was friendly.

TravelerIt was nice to find a gem! It is just off the highway. But not too close. Well maintained. Clean laundry, restroom & showers. Each spot has a grassy (artificial turf) spot with a picnic table and a tree for those hot days of summer.
TravelerThe parking lot is fenced to keep us off the rim. The day-use area is fenced, also, with a sign saying it's locked at night. It wasn't locked. Remote! Great for sky watching. Pit toilet, picnic tables and trash receptacles in the day use area. I'd stay here again for the beauty. Traveling in a van.
