Best RV Parks & Resorts near Neillsville, WI

The camp has a lot of long term sites on the waterfront so getting on one usually gets you into spring and camping. The waterfront has mostly electric only sites and run very close to size. We have a 28 5th wheel and we're snug. Site said 25 ft but the picture had a 5'er on it so we booked it. The back sites are ATV/UTV site. They have good access to the trails. They seem a bit bigger. I've seen a few toy haulers back there. There are a few full hookup in the center of the campground but not many. The shower and restrooms were clean. There are larger sites just not all waterfront. We like to travel too much to have a permanent site yet, so we try to come spring and fall here

 This park is on a smaller scale and less crowded than Devil’s Lake. There is a small beach that is in the process of renovation. The sites are large surrounded by trees and very private. The sites on the lake side are not electric and some of them are huge buddy sites, great for extended families. There are two shower houses in the campground located next to sites 29 or 72. If you are on the legs furthest from the lake it is a long walk to them, but all those sites have electric. There are two vault toilet locations and a total of 116 campsites all with a picnic table and fire ring. There is a very large playing field and a playground in the Family Campground and another playground past the beach near the fishing dock. This State Park has a large number of picnic shelters and picnic grounds with picnic tables. There are about 10 hiking trails. There is a boat launch and you can rent kayaks or canoes at the visitor center. Everything was kept clean and in good repair. Cell service for both AT&T and Verizon was strong enough to stream video. If you want to take a trip to town, there are about 5 no longer than a 10 mile distance. There was a large grocery store in Chippewa Falls. Only ice and firewood are available at the park.

We stayed with a group for Memorial weekend. We have such a great time. Some of our group was tent camping and said the showers were nice and hot but tended to be a little muddy after awhile. Our site was a little hard to get into. We stayed at site 116 with a 40 ft 5th wheel. I would recommend booking early to get a better spot for a big rig. That spot would be easier to get our 30 ft travel trailer into. Water filling stations are all over the campground. It was our first time and we though the dump area was the water station. It was not. Other than that we would definitely recommend.

119 is paved ada 116 can fit a TT and atv trailer comfortably 115 - tight for a 32 ft travel trailer the trees are very close 132 - the area is below the street level which flooded out with mud

Very remote, although Hatfield, which is on the nearby lake, seems like it's a party town for Motor boaters, ATVers and Hunters, Depending on the season.
We were there in October, and the campground wasn't full, and was extremely quiet. So much so that there weren't even many birds in the morning.
 Sites are very nice, the best ones are along the river. Ours was about 20' away. Other sites are backed up to a marshy area, so watch for mosquitoes. Only three sites are pull-through for big rigs; 104, 113 and 120. Site 109 and 111 are closest to the river, but if you think you'll be able to keep/ launch your canoe or kayak from your site, guess again, banks are very steep. There is a boat ramp by the check-in station that is very nice though.
 Firepits are the usual steel rings with an adjustable grill. Firewood is $5 a rack, you pull what you want out of the shed, fill the rack and take it away. Bring something to haul it with, it's a generous rack. Honor system when the Host is away, cash when there apparently.  Try to climb up and get the drier wood towards the back.
Restrooms are clean, pit toilets with motion detector lights at night. Water is from a pump, that is clear and cool and unlike many Midwestern campsites, not brackish with an iron taste.

Camp sites were good. Plenty of room for multiple tents & some hammocks. Came with picnic table and fire pit. Fire wood was only $5 on site for a decent sized bundle. Campground was quiet and well kept. Vault toilets in most of the campground (smelly and not the cleanest but this is expected with vault toilets) there was a main shower/restroom area at the entrance to the campground which was very clean. Drinking water available by the showers. Added bonus - the hiking trail was within the campground and was very scenic. Cool rock formations and a decently easy hike.

The campground is super easy to get to as it is adjacent to I-90 which means you’ll also deal with highway noise. The noise becomes just background after a while and the full hookups mean running the RV air conditioner at night somewhat blocks the traffic sounds. Lots to do in the area with the Wisconsin Dells less than 30 minutes away and Tomah is less than 10 minutes the other direction. The campground itself is small but very well taken care of with a mix of back-in and pull-through sites along with cabins. Staff was very friendly and helpful giving us suggestions for places to visit while we were there. Bonus: A convenience store/fuel station including truck diesel lanes is just outside the entrance to the campground for easy fill ups before you hit the road.

It’s early in the season so the campground is mostly empty, but this KOA is a convenient stop off the highway for local adventures at the nearby state parks or Elroy Sparta bike trail. The basic amenities are good- level sites, fire pit, a tree, nice store, playground, and a pool in warmer weather. It’s more of a place to park your camper than a destination. The campground is right off the highway, so we can see and hear trucks through the night. But they have some nice perks, like goats and chickens on site. The staff let the kids pet the goats and chickens, and loaned us discs to play disc golf. They have one practice basket in the back. There is a small but very nice playground, bathrooms and showers, and laundry facilities. So I would recommend staying here if you want to visit nearby parks and want the convenience of full hookup spots. Great for an easy pull off the highway on your way to more exciting locations. Since most things are closed due to Covid-19, I can’t comment on nearby activities. A clean and convenient location with very nice owners and staff. We would stay again if passing through.
