Remote Hidden Gem

This campground is a hidden gem. Just 6.5 miles past Upper Clearwater Campground you’ll find a well-marked trailhead where you can park and hike in. The hike is super short, probably less than 1/4 mile, and you’ll find yourself at a pristine lake with primitive campsites, the first of which has a…

Peaceful and Primitive

We were the only ones at this campground the first weekend in December. Got to the location about 9:45pm Friday night in the pitch dark so we were especially glad it wasn’t busy. We took spot 1, which in our opinion is the best location right on the river. During the high season some of the other…

Amazing campground under the giants!

One of the most spectacular campsites I've stayed at, nestled into the giant rainforest trees. I stayed there with a group of friends in Loop A. The sites look a bit close together but feel quite far apart with all the tree and ground cover. Facilities were pretty basic, but we sprung for $15 to…

Solitary spot

This is a cool spot, but because the name is “roaring winds”, I thought it’d be at least slightly windy. It wasn’t. At all! It was actually dead quiet at night, so quiet I could hear a pine needle drop. Maybe not THAT quiet, but I definitely could hear mice and other critters scurrying around the…

Great Spot, Bad Road

The campground was great. Lots of sites and secluded enough in the off season we had most of it to ourselves the second night we were there.

We took one star away because there is a stretch of forest road for about 2.5 miles before you get into the national park that is almost impassable due to…

Beautiful seclusion

Didn't get to stay, as I needed cell signal during stay timeframe. However, beautiful nice spots, very damp and soggy with recent rains and since is flat, leaves some areas needing to be watched. Also, no cell signal.. T_mobile or Verizon. Lots of distance between sites, various foliage between…

Great campsite, close to the park

This is a nice small campsite right next to a river very close to Olympic national park. I arrived at night and had a little bit of trouble finding the site but it is immediately before the bridge on the right coming in and dips down into a little bit of a lower area on a dirt road that is about 20…

Beautiful location but no showers

We loved our time at Sol Duc but we were disappointed that there were no showers. You can use the showers at the lodge but you have to pay $15 as this also gives you entrance to the hot springs. This wasn't ideal as we did not have time to use the hot springs so it seemed a bit expensive to spend…

Beautiful Area

Clean, well kept, quiet area. Private beach area that you needed to wear arm bands to get to. Some spots have an ocean view. We were assigned a spot instead of getting to pick when we booked online.

Great CG for the price.

Decent CG, first come first serve, 100 ft to the Hoh River. There's about a dozen sites, only A few can handle 25' place rigs. Verizon service was sorry with 2 bars.

Sweet Free Site!

Super beautiful mossy green scenery right next to the river. We arrived around 5 on a Wednesday and we’re able to snag what I think was the second camp site. An easy pullout for our SUV where we’re able to set up a tent but ended up just sleeping in the car due to rain. The perfect location for…

Unforgettable

Super convenient to camp inside the park boundary to avoid all of the car traffic in and out of the park. The campground is a few minutes walk to all of the trailheads. Campsites are reservable at the visitors center (campground desk hours in intervals of 10am-6pm). We drove in around 4pm on a…

Simple but easy

First come first serve camping. Super easy to find a spot and reserve the spot online after arrival. Bathrooms were clean and sites were clean. Campground is on the same road used to get to Hurricane Ridge. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, seasonal challenges

Such a prime location! Walking distance to the Hoh rainforest hikes. Campground is peaceful, filled with huge trees. Nice clean bathrooms, no showers. RV dump station out of function as of Aug 2021 - disappointing. Biggest challenge is the LONG wait to get into the park in morning or early…
