LegendCheck-in is very comprehensive. Lots of things to do there, great for families too.
Asphalt pads. We had as I call, circle the wagons layout. 4 RV spots are placed around a common grass area. This would be nice for a group, but a bit weird for a stranger placed in this circle. Other sites configurations are available. I was assigned this site, I never reserved it. So check while making your reservation. It is next to a golf course, so it was nice, getting us and our clubs to and from our site. A discount for golf is available for RV park guests. All utilities worked well and were well placed. A gate code is required after 5pm, so pretty secure.

Owners Amber and Ryan were very welcoming, helpful and answered any questions I had! You will not be disappointed camping here! We will be back!

ScoutThis spot is a great little spot for dispersed camping. We got in after sunset and was a little weirded out by the nailed leg and hoof to the tree, but stayed only because we were tired and didn't want to try to find something different.
GuideThe Gilmore campground was clean and well-managed and we found the camp hosts super friendly and helpful. The campground has vault toilets and a few flush toilets as well as private showers with hot water. Campsites were well spaced from one another. The campground has a big green for frisbee, horseshoes, etc.
Farragut State Park has abundant hiking, water activities and interesting interpretive exhibits. And Lake Pend Oreille is simply breathtaking.
We had limited Verizon connectivity — 2 bars at most.
The village of Bayview, a few minutes’ drive or vigorous bike ride away, has a well-stocked little mercantile that carries all the necessities.
As out-of-staters, we didn’t mind paying twice the in-state rate for our site. Our state income taxes support our own state’s parks — not Idaho’s.
TravelerFirst time taking the godson camping and this was the perfect spot. The godson's mom told me she went to this area when she was young and then I saw it here on The Dyrt. At first I entered the coordinates listed on the page and it took me to the opposite entrance to Colville National Forest - there are no places to camp on that side due to the steep drop. Make sure you follow the written directions - just follow Sand Canyon all the way out and it will take you to the proper entrance to Colville National Forest. There are a few different pull-offs to camp sites. The one we stayed at was a bit further down the rock road. It is a loop off the main road and there are several camp sites along the creek. There is also a vault toilet - very clean - in this area. The godson loved it - he even played in the freezing cold water. I enjoyed the peace and quiet!
