Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

RV sites around Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area range from basic to fully-equipped, with options for most vehicle sizes. Many campgrounds have water, sewer, and electrical hookups, while others provide just the essentials. Pull-through spaces at spots like Spring Canyon and Keller Ferry make parking bigger rigs much easier. Most campsites have level gravel pads that work well for RVs up to 40-45 feet, though some areas have tighter size restrictions. Power options include both 30-amp and 50-amp connections depending on which campground you choose. Dump stations are available at the larger campgrounds if you're staying at a site without full hookups. Several campgrounds, including those managed by private operators near the recreation area, have sites with complete water/sewer/electric connections. The main roads to most Lake Roosevelt campgrounds are in good condition and shouldn't pose problems for larger vehicles. Each campground has specific quiet hours when generators can't be used, typically from evening until morning. Standard amenities at most sites include a fire ring and picnic table beside your RV pad. Before heading out, check the specific length limits for your intended campground as they vary significantly throughout the recreation area. The mix of developed facilities and natural lakeside settings makes Lake Roosevelt particularly good for RVers who want convenience without sacrificing scenery. Summer weekends fill up quickly, so making reservations well ahead of time is smart, especially for the more developed campgrounds. Most RV sites are within easy driving distance of boat launches, swimming areas, and hiking trails around the 130-mile-long lake.

    Deer Park RV Resort

    Beautiful spot

After boondocking for the previous two nights this was a much needed oasis. High class operation. The name is confusing. It's actually the Deer Park RV Resort. It's right on the golf course. Seems to be a lot of long term campers. Put your trash out and they come by and pick it up in the morning. If you need propane, you set your bottle at the curb they will fill it and return it to your cradle. Beautiful bathhouse. Pool. A little pricey but worth it.

    Lake Spokane Campground—Riverside State Park

    Great campsite

We stayed at campsite 7 and had a great experience. The site was flat and spacious—easily fit both of our 12ft Gazelle tents with room to spare, and parking two vehicles was no issue. Bathrooms were very clean, and the individual showers were free, which was a great bonus. No mosquito or tick problems at all during our stay. It’s a family-friendly spot with decent privacy (6/10), low noise, and access to water, swimming, and a nearby boat launch down hill from campground. T-Mobile service worked well, and the site had a good mix of sun and shade. We’ll definitely be back.

Hawk Creek Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Beautiful waterfall a short walk away

We camped here mid May 2016 in site #16. The fee at the time was $18. There were 2 clean vault toilets. The available water was treated with iodine. The waterfall was about 30-40’ high and emerged from a rock crevice. The sites were t that private but only a few people were there. I believe now that this federal campground is by reservation only as are the others in the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.

RV Park At Chewelah Golf & Country Club

    Mostly really great

This is a five star campground based on our criteria. Only reason we give it four stars is they are letting the only trees they have for shade die and they are creating a mess. No shade without them. Grounds are largely in disarray. Also washers are top load agitator type. There are many positives though that will bring us back. It is largely a quiet small campground. It is very reasonably priced and is very dog friendly. There are several places to walk the dogs on leash and off within either walking distance or a short drive to the Colville national forest. Management is really friendly and flexible to changing needs. And they do not require payment until you show up. This is a great spot for golfers as well as non golfers. Note the club has pickle ball courts for free use! Great little restaurant and bar on site too with very cheap drinks ($9 Moscow mule!)

Spring Canyon Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Great campground right on the lake

We came here to enjoy the lake.  The campground was right on the lake shore with a great sand beach!

They sites are pretty close together but were usable.  The site we had was a back-in site, the site is gravel and pretty level.  There are no hookups at this location.  First time boon docking, so we were not sure what to expect. This allowed us to test out our travel trailer and it passed.

We have Verizon and there were no issues with cell service for us.

The campground has a clean restroom, we used our trailer shower.

Pets are allowed and with how the lakeshore was, we were able to walk around a bend and get away from others allowing us to go off-leash so our dog could play in the water freely.

Kettle Falls Campground — Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Busy Campground next to Full Service Marina

The Kettle Falls Campground sits on the Upper Columbia River in a popular recreational area.

The campsites are not very private but a few offer stunning views of the river. The campground is busy on the weekends. If you’re looking for peace and quiet try camping during the week.

There are no services except for a few vault toilets and a dump station. However, there’s a full service marina next door. The marina is a popular fishing and water sport destination in the summer.

The campground is clean and well maintained. The sites are small so parking a big rig will be a hassle.

Overall, the Kettle Falls Campground is a great place to access the Upper Columbia River. However, there is little privacy and it gets busy on the weekends.

    Swan Lake Campground

    Beautiful & quiet.

Great campground with easy access to the woods and a beautiful lake with views and fishing. Paved road, clean drinking water, vaulted toilets, locking dumpsters for trash, no motorized boats allowed. Great for families that enjoy camping, great lake for fishing and kayaking, great spot for birding. There are pull through spots for trailers in the upper part of the campground and back in spots with lake views and access. Walk in and group sites are much more private.

    Deer Lake Resort

    Beautiful

We stumbled on this resort because they were on the Passport America list. They are NO longer a passport America park as they are under new ownership. Nice large campsites, beautiful swimming area and cute little store and breakfast restaurant! Beautiful star-y skies and lots of deer at night!!! No fire ring at the site, there are picnic tables and we had a full hookup site! Staff was super friendly. Dog friendly!

    Deer Park RV Resort

    NICE

We paid $60 a night. They have monthly rates for $1000. The camp host showed us to our site AND helped us back in without even asking. The pool is nice with adult swim in early mornings and late evenings. They have mini golf, real golf, pool, sana, fitness fun, lounge area, kids playground, dog area, and more. They collect your trash at your site every day, and have a propane delivery service so you can get your tanks filled without having to get out of your slippers.
My 70 yo mother slipped and couldn't get up with her knee replacementsand the staff came running to help and got her on her feet immediately and made sure she was OK. You can tell they're are permanent residence here that decorate with flowers and elegant arrangements.

Lake Spokane Campground at nearby Riverside State Park operates on a reservation system.
