Boaters and swimmers find direct access to Long Lake at this state park campground, where the boat launch and designated swimming area sit downhill from the camping sites. Lake Spokane Campground—Riverside State Park operates seasonally from mid-May through early October, providing 27 sites with water hookups spread across a wooded setting above the Spokane River.
The campground underwent recent upgrades that transformed the facilities. Four modern bathrooms now feature flush toilets, sinks, and individual showers that operate at no additional charge. Skyla D. notes the "bathrooms were very clean, and the individual showers were free, which was a great bonus." Sites accommodate multiple large tents comfortably, with level ground and adequate vehicle parking. The ADA-accessible site includes its own private gazebo and concrete pad.
Campers drive to the water access area rather than walking from their sites. The swimming zone lacks a gradual entry, making it less suitable for small children, though a single ramp provides water access. Individual gazebos and picnic tables dot the shoreline area, which also includes vault toilets separate from the main campground facilities. Fishing opportunities exist along the water, and several trails connect through the broader state park system.
Cell service varies by carrier, with T-Mobile users reporting reliable coverage while others may find limited connectivity. The campground host provides firewood and ice when fire restrictions allow. Online reservations are recommended since cellular service for last-minute bookings can be spotty. Nanette C. points out that the facility "does not have a RV dump station," requiring campers to plan accordingly.
For a different lakeside experience, Willow Bay RV Resort & Marina offers full hookups and marina services northeast of the area.
