Well maintained campground.

Nicely laid out and well maintain campground. Fellow campers and hikers are nice, great rangers, and clean bathroom and shower ($1.75/5min) facilities, bring quarters or $1s and $5s for getting change in the machine to use in the showers and laundry. No atm or cash back in camp store. All the…

Fantastic time

Stayed in the upper loop. Amazing stars, good space at the sites and enough growth between sites that you aren’t on top of each other.

The river and floating are fabulous. Views are gorgeous. No cell service so you can totally disconnect.

4 stars really because there is not ice available at…

Outstanding State Park!

With large, private sites this campground is perfect for camping!  We never heard from the neighbors and I don't believe our constant activity created a problem for them either.  The sites were made of crushed rock, very flat, and the RV sites included water, electricity, a picnic table, poles for…

  • Plenty of wildlife including deer, rabbits, snakes, and a multitude of lizards. Not too buggy at all!
  • The Shenandoah River from a great view point in the park.
  • There are a couple of awesome fields that are very busy in the early morning and at dusk.

Convenient, laid-back camping

Great experience here.

We went hammock camping here at Loft Mountain on a Friday night and packed up Saturday morning. We had to pay to get into Shenandoah, and then pay the camping fee for loft mountain.

We arrived around noon and with the hopes of getting a good first-come, first serve…

Camping During Covid

Stayed first weekend of Spring, some of the campsites are on a creek or river. Only $1o due to Covid, loads to do including a rather enormous grass clearing for picnic, bridge and cabin, fishing and hiking complete with billboards describing the hike. It was beautiful and the stars at night were…

Great site even when cloudy

This was a great campground. We booked a “walk up” but our parking spot was just down 3 or 4 stairs so it was very easy to go back and forth. We had a large tent pad, fire pit, and picnic table, and there was a water pump right by our parking spot. There were several vault toilets nearby and we…

Large, level and well spaced.

Some of the largest sites we’ve ever seen in a state park. I don’t believe there is a bad site in the park. We had rabbits grazing at our site too. Shenandoah NP is about a 10 mile drive away.

It’s a no from me.

This place was $30 just to enter and it was super duper packed. We turned around and found a great boondocking site nearby.

Too bad I had to leave

Loved it! I’d love to spend a week here some time. There is no bad site in this campground. Immaculate upkeep. Lots of walking and hiking trails. Verizon has no signal at all, but AT&T was fine. Clean bathrooms, large showers, dump station. Water and electric on site but no sewer connection.…

Amazing Campground!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this campground in March of 2021. We went to the area to visit Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park.

We stayed in site #11. The sites weren't right on top of each other, but you could definitely see other sites across the road. There were a few that caught my…

Great campground!

We stayed here on the night of December 11, 2020. No problem finding a spot, campground was about half full when we got there around 4pm. The Primitive Camping spots were all taken however, so arrive early if you want one of those. Water and electrical available at all the spots even though it was…

Great place, beautiful crystal clear lake

We stayed here December 10, 2020. The campground was closed for the winter, but we called ahead and they were fine with us staying in the parking area. No amenities, but we were in a Revel,so didn’t need anything anyway. We were completely alone there, which was pretty cool. The area closes…

Trails and Water

We legit loved this park! I took my grandkids tent camping and we had a wonderful experience. We brought our bikes and hit the trails. It was some great times. We had electricity and water and the bathrooms were close to our site. The park is on the Shenandoah River and there are multiple…
