Tanners Flat Campground is located in scenic Little Cottonwood Canyon at an elevation of 7,200 feet, just 6 miles from Sandy, Utah. The canyon offers many hiking and biking opportunities.

## Recreation

Hiking and mountain biking trailheads can be found throughout the canyon. Hikers enjoy Red Pine Lake, White Pine Lake and Maybird Gulch, all beautiful hikes leading to alpine lakes. Mountain bikers enjoy the Cottonwood Creek Trail and Albion Meadows Trail.  
  
Little Cottonwood Creek offers good trout fishing and is a favorite among local fly-fishermen.

## Facilities

The campground contains 31 single sites, three double sites, four overnight group sites and an amphitheater. The family and overnight group sites have picnic tables and campfire rings. The group overnight sites also have grills and serving tables. The amphitheater has benches and a presentation area, but does not have tables or a fire ring. The amphitheater is available in four hour blocks (8am-12pm, 1pm-5pm, 6pm-10pm).  
  
Flush and vault toilets are provided, as is drinking water. A volleyball court is available but campers must bring their own net and ball. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Roads and parking spurs are paved. 

## Natural Features

The campground is set among a forest of shady pine, aspen, oak and maple trees. Vivid summer wildflowers are abundant, and autumn leaves put on quite a show. Little Cottonwood Creek runs along the edge of the campground. 

## Nearby Attractions

Little Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful area known for its soaring peaks, unique geology, pristine hidden lakes and cascading streams. Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails are in the area. Rock climbing is a popular activity as well.   
  
Snowbird Resort is a few miles up-canyon, offering scenic tram rides, hiking, mountain biking, restaurants, groceries, an Alpine Slide, zip line rides, concerts and various festivals.  
  
Albion Basin, part of Alta Ski Resort just a few miles further up-canyon, hosts the Wasatch Wildflower Festival annually in late July/early August, complete with guided nature walks. Numerous hiking trails can be found in Albion Basin, including the 1.5-mile round-trip hike to Cecret Lake.

Redman Campground is located in scenic Big Cottonwood Canyon at an elevation of 8,300 feet. Salt Lake City is conveniently close. Visitors enjoy hiking, biking and fishing.

Hiking and mountain biking are popular activities on area trails, including the Donut Falls Trail, which begins nearby. Fly-fishermen enjoy casting on Big Cottonwood Creek.

The campground contains two group sites and numerous single, double, and triple-family sites, all with picnic tables and campfire rings. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Roads and parking spurs are dirt.

Redman Campground

During the winter season, the Big Water Yurt is set up at the Upper Big Water Trailhead, 4.5 miles past the winter gate at the end of the canyon road.  It is accessible only by snowshoe or skis on the Millcreek Ski Trail.  Reservations may be made for December 1-April 30. 

Amenities include 2 double-bunk beds (each 4' x 7'), wood burning stove, table and benches, vault toilet outside next to yurt, creek nearby for water source.

Remember to check the forecast with the Utah Avalanche Center  before heading into the backcountry. 

Millcreek Canyon—Big Water Yurt

## Overview

Mt. Timpanogos Campground is located along the beautiful Alpine Loop Scenic Byway in the Wasatch Mountains. The Mount Timpanogos Wilderness Area is adjacent. Visitors enjoy hiking the Aspen Grove Trail to the summit of Mount Timpanogos.

## Recreation

Hiking is very popular in the area and several trails begin nearby, including the 14-mile roundtrip Aspen Grove Trail, which begins across the road from the campground and climbs to the summit of rugged Mount Timpanogos.  
  
The campground sits along the 20-mile paved Alpine Loop Scenic Byway. It passes through alpine canyons, mountain meadows, aspen groves and pine forests, offering breathtaking views of the Wasatch Range.

The campground contains several family campsites with picnic tables and campfire rings. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Roads and parking spurs are paved.

With our full size wagons they can accommodate up to 4 people.   These wagons are furnished with a king size bed, and twin bunk beds.  A small kitchenette table and stools are perfect for that late night board game.   A small fridge and microwave are available for your camping snacks.    The wagon sites have a picnic table, propane gas grill, and fire pits for your cooking needs.   Additional parking in each site is available upon request at the park.  $100.00 Mon-Thurs.  $130.00 Fri, Sat, Sun, and holidays.   A $200.00 refundable security deposit is required.  Sorry no pets allowed in the wagons.

Rv Trailer

Come stay in our RV trailer all set up for your camping experience.  The trailer is fully functional with power, water and a restroom.  With a quad bunk bed set up 4 members of your family can stay in their own fun room.  The couch will convert into a double bed, and the master room will accommodate 2 people.   The site has a covered pavilion, picnic table and fire pit.   Don’t miss your chance to have your family stay in the newest addition to our camping options.   $100.00 Mon-Thurs.  $130.00 Fri, Sat, Sun, and holidays. East Canyon Yurt

Get out of the dirt and into a yurt! $70 Mon-Thurs (excluding holidays) $100 Fri, Sat, Sun ($200 security deposit required- collected at the park).

Can sleep up to 8 people.  Bunk bed, small table, chairs, and a futon.  Power also in the yurts.  Cooking can be done on the gas grill on the yurt decks.   Fire pits are now available at each yurt.  Sorry no pets in or around yurts. Heat is turned off May 15 – Oct 15, or as temperatures dictates.  Restrooms near the yurts. No pets allowed in the yurts.


East Canyon Cabin

Cabins

Cabins: $70 Mon-Thurs (excluding holidays) $100 Fri, Sat, Sun  ($200 security deposit required- collected at the park).  Can accommodate up to six people and have ADA accessibility.

Each cabin has bunk beds, table and chairs, lights and power, Heat/AC, small microwave and refrigerator, water in the site (in summer, not in the cabin) The restrooms are located near the cabins,  restrooms with showers(summer) and vault restrooms (winter). No pets in/around cabins.


East Canyon Hammock Campground

$20.00 a night for the entire site.  Bring your family and friends out and come hang with us.   The hammock structure can accommodate up to 8 people.  It’s great for scout groups and folks who just don’t want to tent up.

Don’t have a hammock? No problem! We have hammock rentals for you. The rental fee is $10.00 per-hammock + straps for your entire stay, plus a refundable fee (depending on the condition of the hammock when returned) of $60.00  Bring your sleeping bag and your set.

East Canyon State Park

Washington Lake Campground is located just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway on the shores of Washington Lake at an elevation of 10,000 feet. The byway cuts through the Uinta Mountains, which are known for their abundant recreational opportunities and scenic beauty. Recreation Washington Lake offers canoeing, kayaking and fishing for rainbow, brook, cutthroat, tiger and albino trout. The popular Crystal Lake Trail begins within the site. Numerous additional hiking, biking, horseback and off-road vehicle riding trails crisscross this beautiful region. Facilities This campground contains five accessible group sites, four of which accommodate up to 50 people each; the fifth accommodates up to 100 people. Sites are equipped with picnic and serving tables, campfire circles, grills, concrete site pads, limited tent pads and limited parking. Several single and double-family sites are available, all with picnic and utility tables, campfire rings and concrete site pads. Some have tent pads.
