Nunns Park, near Provo, Utah, is a cozy campground that offers a unique blend of nature and accessibility. Located right by the Provo River, it’s a great spot for those who enjoy scenic views and the soothing sounds of flowing water.

The campground features shaded sites that provide a nice escape from the sun, though some campers have noted that the spots can be a bit snug. Many visitors appreciate the clean facilities, including well-kept bathrooms, and the friendly atmosphere created by the hosts. As one camper mentioned, “Great hosts! Clean campgrounds and bathrooms.”

For outdoor enthusiasts, Nunns Park is right next to the Provo River trail, which is perfect for biking and walking. You can easily hop on the trail to explore the beautiful surroundings or head up to Bridal Veil Falls. While the proximity to the highway means some road noise, the river helps to drown it out, making it a decent spot for a quick getaway.

If you’re planning to stay, be sure to make a reservation, as it can get busy, especially during peak times. Whether you’re looking to relax by the river or enjoy some outdoor activities, Nunns Park has a little something for everyone.

Nuns park Utah county

Nice location, along river but highway close. Be aware that can only access the park entrance from northbound lanes.

Great LITTLE spot

Camp spots are snug but do the job. Love the shade and scenic views. Road noise is kinda drowned out by the river, but you can still hear it if you try. Wish there were showers. Great little secluded access points into the river. Awesome way to cool off. Would stay again!

Lots of cyclists in the area. There was a little accident while I was in the park side someone was hurt. Drive cautiously.

Nice campground

Most sites are small, low clearance coming in and close to highway

Clean but noisy

Great hosts! Clean campgrounds and bathrooms. Seems family friendly

It’s alcohol free campgrounds but clearly there was a group that was drinking and up until 2am with loud music.

Hwy traffic noise is louder near sites 11,12. Trail is busy with biking, skateboarding, short hikes, and is very close to campsites 11, 12 13. 9 seems to attract noise-makers lol

Overall, i’d try to find a site by the river next time, and more up front.

Accessible and close to Provo river trail

Great campground close to town and right off the Provo River trail (a beautiful paved bike path that goes into town or up past Bridal Veil falls). Right by the river, not tons of privacy though. Tons of shade, nice bathrooms and small play area.

Nice place

Clean... a bit busy... lots of folks biking and walking on the public trail next to campground... but not noisy. Provo River runs through it.
Highly recommend! Make a reservation for sure.

Not a peaceful place

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to camp then this is not it. It’s situated right next to the highway and the road noise is so loud and constant all night long. We’re at campsite number 4 and the smell of sewage from the bathroom is overwhelming. Will not be camping here again.

One of the closest to Provo

This is one of the closest campgrounds to Provo. It is quick and easy for the kind of trip to just get away but it won't feel like you are backwoods because of the smallness of the park and closeness to a very busy highway through Provo Canyon. Really close to the beautiful Bridal Veil Falls.

Get the sites near the river

$20 to camp here. The sites are very close together with lots of foot, bike, and skateboarding traffic passing nearby. I was lucky to get a site near the river which drowned out the noise. Each site has a parking spot, space for 2 tents, a coal grill, fire pit, and picnic table.

Hidden little campground

I didn’t know this existed until I went with the scouts and one of the scouts mentioned his family had camped there. If you are looking to get away to a quick little area, this is a great place to go. However, because it is so close, it fills up fast.

It is close to Bridal Veil Falls, the Provo River trail (often frequented by skateboards), the Provo River for fishing, or lots of hiking nearby. The campground is covered with large shady trees. Reservations are recommended.

Too close

This is an ok campground. It is situated right next to the Provo river, but also right off the Provo canyon roadway. Too much traffic noises. There are some trees to provide shade.

Close to river and in the mountains with a highway close by.

This is a great place to pitch a tent or come up and stay for the day. The only bad part about this camp site is all the highway noise. It is close to the Provo river and there is lots of shade so that is nice. Great place to have a camp fire and cook some S'mores.  The bike path is close so bring your long board or bike and go for a ride. This is withing walking distance from Bridal Vail Falls so that is a great day hike and see the falls. Also great fly fishing in the Provo river so do yourself a favor and bring your fishing gear.

Great for gatherings

There were a couple spots that were semi private but most were very exposed. Lots of area on some of them though for multiple tents. The river is right there and makes some beautiful yet subtle white noise. It is in provo canyon and the cliffs on either side are very impressive. The walk from the campsite to bridal falls is also lovely!

Great Experience!

I got to the campsite late at night, but still felt welcomed! Such a great location, away from civilization, but not too far up the canyon!

Great Spot

The camp spots here are super nice. The best part is how close it is to Provo. Super convenient. We didn't stay very long but would recommend this spot to anyone who wants some nice car camping.

Pretty Not Private

It's a beautiful campsite near water with well kept facilities. However, you're quite close to other campers' tents/cars and in the morning bikers/joggers run by you on the path and it doesn't feel very much like wilderness camping.

Easy getaway but close to bike path

Nunns is a great place to go if you don't have time to go look for a spot. It's a quick drive up Provo canyon. The downside it it is close to a bike/running path so if you want to sleep in it might not happen. They do have bathrooms and it's close to the river.
