Bridger Bay Campground — Antelope Island State Park

I know some people had a huge issue with bugs. Maybe its because we came towards the end of October. But the only issue with bugs we had were a few annoying flies. This place is absolutely stunning. Ended up staying 2 nights. One night was very windy since there isnt much to protect you from the wind. Bathrooms have showers and flush toilets. Literally no one was here after the Bison roundup weekend. And the sunsets were spectacular !

      Utah Lake State Park Campground

      Beautiful little campground

Nice little campground with several pull through spots and several back ins Showers and bathrooms were clean and nice. Outside of the major town on Utah Lake so fairly quiet, although it is next to a smaller airport which has planes coming and going most of the time. At least they are all small planes so they don’t make too much noise. Nice playground.

      Cascade Springs Dispersed Site

Amazing views! start of the fall colors

Right up the road from where the campsite marker is we found this private little circular site with fire pit. Ground was at a slope, good to keep in mind, for this specific spot.

      Cascade Springs Dispersed Site

      Stunning view

This road will test your skills it you don’t have 4x4 and high-clearance, but it still drivable even further uphill. Wasn’t able to make it to where the pin is, just kept going up the main road and found gorgeous spot! Quite popular place

      Granite Flat (utah)

      It’s not closed !

I don’t know why the alert states it’s closed till 2027 but that’s not true. All paved, easy access. Pit toilets and drinking fountains. Sites are too small for huge motorhomes- we fit our 33 foot trailer but had to park the truck down by the toilets, and backing in was fine in our spot but they’re not all as wide of an angle. Site was level, toilets clean. Fountains everywhere but for filling jugs only. A million little trails everywhere. The reservoir is right next to camp and the people there are very annoying, loud, and leave trash. The trails were much more peaceful.

      Cascade Springs Dispersed Site

      Just get here already!

One of the most beautiful sites I've been to in utah. The drive up in autumn is absolutely stunning. Pit toilets are located about 4mi down the mountain, road up will require AWD or 4x4.

    Guide to Cottonwood Heights

Cottonwood Heights RV options range from suburban parks with city access to mountain resorts with outdoor activities. Most full-hookup sites accommodate large rigs with 50-amp service, though advance booking is essential during summer and fall weekends. The area's elevation of 4,400 feet provides moderate summer temperatures, typically 10-15°F cooler than Salt Lake Valley floor temperatures during peak months.

    What to do

River access fishing spots: The Echo Island RV Resort in Coalville offers fishing opportunities on their property. "Beautiful setting on two small rivers with shade. Full hookups, spacious sites," notes Paul Y., who appreciated the outdoor recreation options alongside camping amenities.

Trail systems for walking/biking: Park City RV Resort provides direct access to paved trails. "You have direct access to the bike path that leads directly into Old Town Park City and links you with lots of other trails," reports Kristin S., who found the location ideal for exploring without driving.

Winter skiing proximity: Several rv parks near Cottonwood Heights, Utah provide convenient access to ski resorts. Located within 20-30 minutes of multiple ski areas, these parks offer winter camping for those seeking slope access. "You can see some of the ski slopes from the park," mentions Jennifer H. about the Park City location's winter appeal.

    What campers like

Swimming pool options: Lakeside RV Campground near Provo offers water recreation beyond hookups. "Pull through sites with grass between. Pool was very nice. Cute little store," shares Denise P., highlighting amenities that enhance summer stays when temperatures rise.

Adult-only sections: Some rv accommodations near Cottonwood Heights feature dedicated areas for mature travelers. "There is a section that is for adults 21 and older where children are not allowed," notes Sheila B. about Mountain Valley RV Resort, providing options for different camping preferences.

Pet-friendly facilities: Many parks accommodate four-legged travelers with designated spaces. "Big beautiful dog run area with a waterfall. This would be a great long term or a it's a very easy on off expressway stop," reports Donna H., describing specialized pet amenities that go beyond basic acceptance policies.

    What you should know

Road noise considerations: Interstate proximity affects sound levels at several parks. "There is a lot of noise from the interstate and the nearby Air Force base," warns Brian about Riverside RV Resort, suggesting noise-sensitive travelers select interior sites away from highways.

Reservation requirements: Summer demand requires advance planning, especially for weekend stays. "Reserved a few hours before arriving on a Sunday in June and there were plenty of spots," mentions Mike A. about Echo Island RV Resort, though this experience is uncommon during peak periods.

WiFi reliability varies: Internet quality fluctuates between parks and even within the same facility. "Wifi and cable. Nice play area. Bikes available including kid sized," notes Janet H. about Pony Express RV Resort, though other reviewers at different parks report connectivity challenges.

    Tips for camping with families

Activity options: Lagoon RV Park & Campground offers unique proximity to amusement attractions. "Right next door to the Lagoon Amusement Park, it is super convenient. Lots of grass and some decent space between sites," explains Sam S., making it suitable for families seeking entertainment beyond standard camping.

Playground facilities: Many parks offer dedicated children's areas with equipment. "Very clean and well kept. Flat, level parking spots - many pull-throughs. Very quiet," Brian C. shares about Pony Express RV Resort, where playground access provides entertainment for younger campers.

Swimming access for children: Multiple pools at some resorts accommodate different age groups. "This campground is clean, well laid out and very well kept... There are three pools, three shower houses, and three laundry rooms. This is a great place for kids," Sheila B. explains about Mountain Valley RV Resort.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Choose locations based on specific needs rather than just availability. "If you like your space, this probably isn't the best place," Nicole B. advises about Pony Express RV Resort, suggesting that RVers who prefer more distance between sites should research specific site dimensions.

Level site importance: Concrete pads aren't always level despite appearances. "Most sites were level, however 62 was NOT! Sites were fairly close but not on top of each other," Larry G. warns about Knotty Pine Resort, emphasizing the importance of checking specific site reviews.

Utility placement considerations: Hook-up locations vary between parks and can affect parking positioning. "The utilities were fine," mentions Kristin S. about Park City RV Resort, though other reviewers note less conveniently placed connections at other facilities near Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
