    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Several RV parks in the Knoxville area accommodate motorhome travelers with varying amenities. Southlake RV Park provides full hookup RV sites with 50-amp service, showers, and a dump station near Knoxville's Maryville Pike. Little River Campground & RV Resort in Townsend features 104 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical options, operating year-round with water, sewer, and electric hookups. Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge operates seasonally from March through December, offering big-rig friendly sites with full hookups and waterfront access. Creekside RV Park in Pigeon Forge maintains 108 RV sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp service from April through November. "Sites are not well developed with power and sewer in odd places. Monthly rentals and not well kept," noted one camper about Southlake RV Park.

Between Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains, most RV parks require advance reservations during peak seasons. Many campgrounds feature gravel pads with varying degrees of levelness, particularly at Melton Hill Dam Campground where one visitor mentioned, "The parking area is an asphalt slab and many have a slant to them and will require leveling." Cell service quality varies significantly throughout the region, with reviewers noting "Verizon service shotty with poor WIFI" at Whispering River Resort. Navigation to some parks involves narrow roads with significant elevation changes, particularly those closer to mountain areas. Most parks welcome pets but have restrictions on breed types and numbers. Dump stations are available at most locations, though placement and approach angles can create drainage challenges at some sites.

Little River Campground & RV Resort

      Such a gem!

Husband and I wanted to get away and found this campground- it is such a gem! You can't see it well from the road, but there is a huge sign out by the road. Trust it! You're in the right place. You drive across a small bridge across the Little River when you get to the campground, but it can handle big rigs. We saw many massive Class A campers while we were here for 6 nights. We pull a 30 ft travel trailer and used a pull through site- very large spot as far as rv sites go. They have back in spots for campers and tents literally on the bank of the river and you're allowed to swim, play, tube, etc in the river at your own risk. Camp store has firewood and a few essentials, but they don't sell propane. We got ours filled at the Tractor Supply in Alcoa, TN nearby. They had crafts and hayrides while we were here. Wifi is free but not great. Verizon cell service was good enough at 3 bars the whole time. No on-site laundry services, so we had to go into town to use laundromat (nearby town of Townsend is adorable but no laundromat). The grounds offer tent, cabin, and rv sites with various levels of electric, water, cable and sewer access. Our site had 30amp, water, sewer and cable. Nice and level site, large fire pit, sturdy plastic and metal picnic table and large beautiful mature trees. The bathhouse is seriously impressive and is, by far, the nicest campground bathhouse I've ever used! One of my favorite features was random and I never knew I was missing it in my life until now.. the bathrooms have strong AC pumping right into each bathroom, making everything nice and cool when you come in from the hot campsite.. wonderful! Good view of the mountains in the distance and minutes away from Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance. This is a wonderful find!

Now called Little River Campground, absolutely wonderful!

Crossville / I-40 KOA Holiday Campground

One of the nicer KOAs - concrete pads available, private shower rooms.

KOA I-40/Crossville, TN - We stayed one night in October, full hook ups, 50 amp, good wifi until the evening but our cell service was good. $59.87 per night, $53.88 with KOA discount. Nicely maintained park with level concrete sites in the front with grass, fire rings and picnic tables that were in excellent condition. Friendly, welcoming staff with a nice gift shop/store. Hand dipped ice cream is available along with freshly made pizza and wings if you don’t want to cook. It does sit right next to Highway 70 into Crossville and can be noisy but it didn’t bother us. Each bathroom is a private toilet and shower, very clean, nicely tiled and plenty of hot water. Small laundry, two washers and two dryers but there may have been additional laundry towards the back of the park. The park seems to be broken down into three sections, concrete pad pull throughs in the front, then the office area, then a second section of sites with gravel pads and these are closest to the bathrooms, then further out is another area with a pond or small lake for catch and release fishing. Well manicured property. Would definitely stay again and the ice cream was really good.

      Spring Lake RV Resort

      Nice and quiet little campground.

64 full hook-up with 30 and 50 amp electric on the sites. Site 1 only had a 30 amp and was the smallest in the campground. They had wifi and cable TV that was available. Sites were fairly level. I had to use 2 yellow flat blocks on site 1. Restrooms and showers were closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We were told they were full but several sites remained empty during our stay. Would have liked to have had a lake side site or a larger level site. Owners were friendly as well as the guests. I believe they had some full-time living there too. I would go back.

      Spring Lake RV Resort

Our favorite RV park this trip

We were on an sudden, urgent trip with minimal pre-planning and no reservations. We contacted Spring Lake an hour before arrival and they were super helpful, providing a level overnight pull-through site reservation. We were arriving an hour after the office closed and they made arrangements to help us get settled. We were so appreciative of the consideration. Overall we felt the amenities and the setting were the nicest of this 1200 mile trip. Pretty, very well maintained. Level sites with picnic table and convenient hook-ups. The sites are built around a small lake. I suspect most of the leases are long-term. Friendly manager and friendly residents. We walked around the lake and found they had sitting areas and gazebos where you could relax during the day or at night. A couple of miles off the interstate so no road noise and very quiet at night. You can pick up fast food dinner on the way to the park.

      Townsend-Great Smokies KOA

Right outside of Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Amazingly clean campgrounds 10 minutes from the entrance of the National Park and 20 minutes from the Visitor's Center.

You have a choice of "rustic" tent sites, tent sites with water/electric/cable hook-ups, RV, or Cabins. All sites are pet-friendly including cabins. All camp sites include fire pit and picnic table.

Lots of amenities are included in your stay. 2 bathroom areas, 1 shower area, pool, wi-fi, etc.

There's a general store in front of the campgrounds with gas station and small cafe attached. The general store will even deliver your purchased firewood to your site.

This Koa is near a lot recreational places and some restaurants. Also near towns like Gatlinburg, Pidgeon Forge and Knoxville.

      A nice vacation spot.

      Cades Cove Campground

      Quite, beautiful, weekend traffic

This is one of the quietest campgrounds I’ve stayed at. Sites are nestled in the woods in a cove in the Smokies. No cell service. No internet. No cable tv. Just peace and quiet! This is a national park campgrounds, so no water, electric or hookups. There is a dump station and modern bathrooms. Cold water showers. There is a camp store with basics. There is a lot of traffic especially on weekends with visitors driving the scenic Cades Cove Loop Road.

    Guide to Greenback

Several RV parks provide motorhome sites near Greenback, Tennessee with varying amenities and settings. Southlake RV Park in Knoxville features full hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer connections on lakefront property, though some sites have uneven terrain. Little River Campground & RV Resort in Townsend offers 104 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, operating year-round for motorhome travelers. Top of the World RV in Tellico Plains provides more basic services with water and electric hookups but no shower facilities. "Sites are not well developed with power and sewer in odd places. Many regional RV sites require advance reservations, particularly during fall leaf-viewing season when parks fill quickly. Propane services are limited, with few parks offering on-site filling stations for motorhome travelers.
