Awesome place. One of my favorite

Pulmer gulch is a awesome place. There are many things to do. There is a mini golf course, a playground, a Tiny gift shop, and my more. One cool thing is there are big boulders scattered across the campground which kids love to climb on. There is also a pool and water slide that is free to get in.…

Great private camp in pines, excellent access to Custer and surrounding areas. Very close to Michelson Trail. Sites are well maintained and provide some privacy.

Great base camp

This place was amazing for our needs. We were tent camping with two young kids. Between its location to the Black Hills, hikes, parks, monuments and on site fun our kids went to bed completely wore out each day. The staff was wonderful and the sites were great. We would highly recommend.

Loved it!

Our spot was one of the doubles and overlooked Deerfield Lake. The host was friendly and the toilet was the cleanest I’ve seen at a campsite. It was our first time staying at Dutchman, and we’ll definitely be back! It’s about a 40 minute drive from Hill City and secluded from any road traffic and…

Excellent family campground with tons of amenities.

This campground is awesome! With views of Black Elk Peak, a 30 minute drive to most attractions near Mt Rushmore, you can’t beat it. The kids loves the pool area, splash park, and mini-golf. Multiple activities each day for the kids to do.
Sites are mostly level and easy in and out, many…

No Cell! No Internet!

Verizon cell coverage was non-existent, which admittedly is outside of their control. But there was absolutely no Internet access through their WiFi, which is within their control. Their suggestion: drive 10-15 mins to nearby town to find their library. Sorry... that just doesn’t work in this day…

KOA Mt Rushmore Palmer Gulch

Would've give 5 stars but they don't pay attention to the size of the trailers and the size of their spots. They just throw you in anywhere. Took us a good hour to park and set the trailer ground was so uneven we ended up having to dig out a hole for our tires to sit in to level out the trailer.…

Quiet spot to stay while vacationing

This was a nice campground to stay at while vacationing. The wash house is wonderful. It is a building broken down into several private bathrooms (a toliet, sink, and shower in each room)! Absolutely the best. I wish all campgrounds were like this.

Quiet and beautiful

This was one of our favorite spots on our road trip through SD! Quiet, beautiful and close to Rushmore, Hill City and Custer! The sites were nice with new concrete pads and fire pits. Pit toilets, didn’t see any showers.

Great place to camp

Very nice place to camp. We have a small teardrop trailer and we are staying in the tent/popup area. It's really nice a little creek winds through the campground. And we are right beside that. Definitely recommend this place. Nice store and they have a cafe and sell some hot food for breakfast…

Fly fish right in your campground

Quiet, centrally located campground in one of the premier parks in the USA. Immaculate bathrooms and showers, great camp host, electric and accessible water. Trout fishing adjacent to campground. Bison and BH Sheep grazing right through site.

Wonderful for families

We really enjoyed our stay at the Palmer Gulch KoA. We have two kids ages 3 & 7 and we never ran out of activities at the campground. We rented a full day UTV, rented “banana bikes” and utilized all of the fun zone. Unfortunately, all the horse rides were booked for our weekend.

We had site…

Scenic Wonderland

This campground was small yet spaced out sites. The best part of this campground was its location. Easy hike down to Sylvan Lake and Store & laundry mat. The lake does seem like it would be very busy in peak summer days. We can’t just as the campground opened up in May. It is also on the scenic…

Quiet Area

Nestled amongst the Pines Stockdale north was a quiet campground to visit. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. There was one main bathroom with showers… Probably the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever been in. Additional outhouses were on each loop.

Black hills camping trip

Very nice campground not too far away from popular destinations like spearfish canyon, Custer state park, and the crazy horse memorial. Most sites were very spacious and had some privacy but were clearly more so meant for RVs and trailers rather than rent camping. Site 17 where we stayed had a few…
