Black Hawk Creek RV Park & Cabins

Black Hawk Creek RV Park sits on open terrain near Blackhawk, South Dakota, with wide spacing between campsites and level gravel pads suitable for backing in during low-light conditions. The facility accommodates 150+ RV sites with full hookups, though bathroom facilities are limited to one restroom per gender for the entire campground. Cell service runs weak with AT&T showing one bar, and WiFi coverage proves spotty across the property.

The campground includes a fenced dog run designed for larger dogs, though smaller pets may find gaps in the fencing. Recent management changes have brought improvements to the facility, including upgraded bathroom cleanliness and water pressure. Access comes via Peaceful Pines Road off I-90, which connects to Deadwood Avenue without significant road damage. Campers planning extended stays can inquire about campgrounds around Blackhawk for long-term discounts.

Campers regularly cited spacious, level sites and recent facility improvements under new management. However, some guests reported problems regarding limited restroom facilities for the campground size and billing issues that required multiple office visits to resolve.

Quiet clean open spaces Multiple dog runs

Nice area easy to access, better road coming in from Peacefull Pines Rd right off I90 which turns into Deadwood Ave with no potholes. Pet Friendly. Courteous Staff are helpfull. Relatively new management with lots of improvements in process. Discounts for long term.  Starlink Wifi. Clean spacious bathrooms. Good water pressure. Some cabins with AC and full mini frig and microwave, no water in cabins but several water posts nearby. Cabins are 1 room and really comfortable Queen beds.  Picnic table outside with covered porch, some with swing bench or chair.

There is a kids park with some climbing structures a swing and grassy area,

In a pinch

This campground is very spacious. Wide open areas near campsites. It has a fenced in dog run that is great for big dogs. The holes are a little large for my 10lbs pup. The team is very helpful. Now for the flaws, one bathroom per sex for all 150+ camp spaces. One toilet for each gender and one shower. You need to be pretty self sufficient in your RV for this campground. Spaces to park are level and spacious was able to back in on complete dark with no issues. WiFi is spotty. ATT is one bar for the campsite. Over all nice, but little too pricey for what is offered. I showered at planet fitness due to the facilities.

No customer service

Reserved on their site for 9 nights for$783 including taxes. They charged my credit card$884 and refused to refund the overcharge. After visiting the office 6 times and the attending person saying we are looking into it, they just give you the run around thinking you will just go away and they can steal your money. Nothing more than common thief's.
