Pinnacles Campground Area

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting within the Buffalo Gap National Grassland outside Wall, South Dakota, Pinnacles Campground Area is a dispersed, drive-in or hike-in site managed by the National Forest with no developed amenities. Sun exposure is high and shade is absent. One reviewer notes the wind runs steady enough to make temperatures manageable if campers bring an awning or canopy. Nearby, Badlands Wall BLM provides another dispersed option for those working through the area. Pinnacles suits self-sufficient campers comfortable with off-grid conditions who prioritize open views over facilities.

Badlands Vista

This is a beautiful, open, dispersed free camping area where the grasslands and badlands come together. It is a pack in and pack out area for self contained campers. You will see prairie dogs, buffalo, antelope, and possibly some big horn sheep. It can get pretty windy at times.

Beautiful and Gorgeous

This is a completely off the grid kind of situation. It’s well known, buts offers nothing other than lots of sun, heat, and breeze. That said, the view is worth it all. The breeze actually makes it comfortable, especially if you have an awning or canopy. Highly recommend this site.
