A visitor mentioned, "Camped here only one night as a layover on way to another destination. Small camping area with only couple rv sites with other sites for tent camping. Went for nice hike near river. Nice nature center. Was even a very nice splash park for warmer weather activities and a nice archery range."
Mountain biking: Poinsett State Park Campground offers some of the best mountain biking in the region. "Poinsett State Park has some of the best hiking and biking trails in the Palmetto State. You could spend multiple days camping here and have a chance to hike different trails every day," reports one reviewer who frequently visits for the trail system.

Has an environmental learning center. A canopy boardwalk in the trees. Kayak loading dock. And small campground with archery course," shares a Lynches River County Park visitor.

Was wonderful to wake up and see the horses. Also dog friendly which is a plus," shares one camper who appreciated the unique equestrian environment.
Artesian wells: Unique natural water features draw visitors to certain parks in the region. "Lee State Park is a simple park. Check out the artesian wells and other nature spots. Bath houses were well kept. Only drawback would be this park is an equestrian park so you will most likely encounter flies during the warmer months," notes one camper.

One visitor to Poinsett State Park noted, "We stayed here for our son's first birthday, in campsite 30! It was beautiful and we felt like we had plenty of privacy. Our site had a trail attached to the back of it which was really nice for hiking."
